Ordered chole bhature and it came with onion pickle and gulab jamun -- everything was really good. The chole had authentic flavor and the bhature were fresh. Also ordered the dry fruit milkshake, which was rich and tasty. Overall, the food reminded me of real India taste. Definitely worth ordering again. Service was fast and ambiance is so good , love this place.

Service was excellent and kind but a little slow. It's a basic honest with ample seating. The Pav bhaji was okay but very spicy. The bhakri pizza was okay with the sauce being different. The veggie Manchurian and dosa were good. It's really good place for groups. But the food quality overall has gone down

This is a nice vegetarian restaurant with lots of food options. The service is fast and the food tastes great. We tried a variety of different dishes and everything tastes great. They ask you how spicy you want the food so it lets you customize it a little. They also have options for kids. The atmosphere here is casual and clean. There is good amount of parking space as well.

Honest in Naperville is hands-down our family's favorite spot for Indian food! They serve authentic Indian street food that is absolutely to die for. The setup is simple--you order at the register when you first arrive, find a seat, and then your food is brought out fresh and piping hot. The service is always great; everyone is so friendly and helpful. The owner even recognizes regulars, which makes it feel like a true home away from home--only with even better food!

What a wonderfully friendly and clean restaurant with fantastic Indian food. We tried 3 items at the suggestion of our server. The Dried Gobi Manchurian (appetizer), Rava Masala Dosa and Pani Puri. All excellent, freshly prepared and just the right amount of spice and heat.

I'm never a fan of writing a negative review, but I was underwhelmed by this restaurant. The food was so so, the service was all right, and overall it was just not satisfying. The food had a lot of flavor, but everything had the same flavor profile. Once you tasted one item it kind of felt like you were eating the same thing just in a different form. The place was definitely busy so they are doing something right and everyone who was dining was very happy.

I absolutely love Honest for the chaat and Indian street food! I have been to this place several times and look forward to the dine-in experience every single time. However, I am not a big fan of carry out from this place. Indian street food is best eaten hot or crisp or basically on the spot. The food gets cold and soggy and disappointing by the time you bring it home. My two fav things to eat here are Bahubali sandwich and Dhabeli. Pricing is affordable and quantities are filling. There is plenty of parking on the side and in front of the restaurant location.

I used to love grabbing some Indian street food here but I feel like the quality of food went downhill. The dosas were mehhh along with sambar that tasted like it had too much chaat masala. The pav bhaji bread was drenched in butter. The Vada pav was dry and no different than the aloo that's in dosas. Might rethink the next time I go in.

Honest is a vegetarian restaurant located in Naperville right next to the Patel Brothers grocery store. I tried out the papdi chaat and thought it was standard. I wish the portion sizes were larger for the price I paid, but overall the service was quick and it looks like a nice sit-down restaurant as well.

Came in one evening to try a dosa. The inside of the restaurant was very clean and very bright. You order as soon as you walk in and than get seated which is kinda of weird to me. So I walked in and placed an order for Masala Dosa and was seated. It was warm and so good! 10/10 They serve no meat items! So a friendly vegetarian restaurant!

Honest is an Indian vegetarian chain restaurant across the world. Started in Gujarat, Honest is well-known for the special Pav Bhaji. Around Chicago, there are multiple locations in the suburbs and conveniently, the restaurant is usually located next to an Indian grocery store (Patel Brothers). The restaurant has enough seating to host family dinners and birthday parties with a casual vibe and people usually walk in. If you go on a weekend, be prepared for it to be crowded, and loud, and for the service to be on the slower side. Many times, you might have to go up to the counter to request extra plates/chutneys, etc. The ambiance is very much family oriented with groups of all ages, which can also mean crying children at times. We ordered Honest Special Pav Bhaji, Mysore Dosa, Spring Dosa, and Mixed Uthappam. Starting with the Pav Bhaji, the taste lives up to the hype with a butter layer. It is medium spice, and the quantity is plenty for 2 people. Next: Mixed Uthappam is made of fresh finely chopped vegetables and comes with sambhar, white, and red chutneys. The sambhar could be a hit or miss depending on the day, but the chutneys are always on point. The Uthappam itself was well flavored and combined with the chutneys, the dish really delivers. Out of all the dishes, my least favorite was the spring dosa. The presentation was beautiful; however, the taste was mediocre. Spring dosa is a twist to the authentic dosa with vegetable mix, which is unique but still prefers the regular Mysore masala dosa. Overall, I would rate the food that is very reasonably priced a 9/10. If you are making a trip to the Chicago suburbs and craving good Indian food, I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Never order Falooda from this restaurant. All they give is skim milk mixed with Rose syrup. No Ice cream , no basil seeds and no vermicelli. My wife , who is from Mumbai, literally cried after seeing the liquid ' called' Falooda. The price doesn't come cheap either . It's a whopping 7 bucks for the milk liquid ! Never order Falooda from that place ! read more

This was on my bookmark for a while, so I was very excited when I finally got to go here. Place is pristine - I loved their decor! Service was prompt. I ordered a masala dosa and a mixed nuts milkshake. It was freshly prepared and the chutneys were good as well. I give it a star less as my gluten sensitivity kicked in after dinning here. But I would like to give it another try - their menu was too enticing to pass over without a second chance! And how can you ignore that awesome business name - they are Honest! read more

I was practically craving for Fastfood items and this is the place which came to my mind. We tried their popular dishes and it turned out really great(expected them to be bit more spicy). I went to Honest for a second time. Like last time, the food was great. The service was...not great. The spring dosa was interesting. It was a bit brummagem. It didn't seem authentically Indian, but it was tasty. I would describe it as a Indo-Chinese style veggies wrapped in dosa. The samosa chaat was really good. The yogurt and red sauce tapered the spiciness of the samosas. I also enjoyed the utthappam with coconut sauce. The milkshake was overpriced. This is probably what's wrong with Indian restaurants in the US. They just seem not able to hold up the standards or as laid back as in the land & have just taken up things for granted!! I mean if you look around every country takes pride in their cuisine, be it Mexican, Italian, French you name it but not Indian joints. Though I feel the prices are on the higher side but that's not my complaint. It's the presentation and the simple thought that someone would eat the food hence that last mile of thought to add joy matters. I frequent this place often but never again after my today's takeout experience. Ordered a Dahi Puri for to-go and what I got when I opened the box was a mash of everything with sauces/chutneys all out in the bag and all over the box . Take a look at the picture. Just a bit of rush (weekend / holiday) and snap!! Caring for the customer flushes out of the system. The one star is because there needs to be one. If it were up to me would have given a negative star!!! read more

The inside is good and clean better than most desi restaurants. Food-I got the bahubali sandwich it had a funny taste of non stick pan.. you get a burnt smell when you over heat non stick, the smell got into the sandwich. Tea was horrible, the chef needs training on how to make chai On the whole just another below average restaurant. Service- was slow Too many options available, Honest is not one of them. read more

This is a nice place to get Western Indian food especially street food. I love this place over their Schaumburg location and I'm so glad they have more options here. I wish the food was a little less spicy. But not sure if it would taste the same. Highly recommend pulao, pao bhaji, sandwich and mango lassi. A special shout out to the friendly staff here and the way they do their job. It's uncommon in Indian restaurants. Keep up the good work! read more

Love this place!!!!!! Been there twice in a week's time. First time we ordered - Samosa chat, hakka noodles and dahi Puri. All very good except dahi Puri which was just dahi and hardly potato and chutney. Decor is amazingly done and service is good too. I gind servers friendly. Second time went as we were craving for the Samosa chat. So ordered that and bhel Puri, chilli paneer, noodles again with hot n sour soup. I'm happy that it's so close to my house and in the main area. High recommended!!!!! read more

Do you want to eat an Indian food but you are unable to get the taste you crave for?? Honestly, I would suggest to visit ' Honest restaurant'. Specifically, I love dosas and sambhar. It's crunchy, flaky and yummy. Additionally, The decor is interesting. Service is good however you will find this restaurant busy especially on weekends. So, go a little early to save your spot. Ordered -Dry Gobi Manchurian , cheese pizza , schezwan fried rice , samosa , aloo chat and rava masala dosa for our group. Dry gobi is full of oil .literally wet gobi. Schezwan fried rice is also full of oil and cannot complete portion . Cheese pizza . Not near to pizza anyway . Attached pic . Just a dried bread crust , with cold Tomato sos and grated cheese . Cheese was not melted 1%. Samosa was ok . No complaints. Rava dosa also was good . But sambar was spoiled . May be from 2 days back . Samosa chat was also ok . For spoiled sambar they argued its fresh . Never even apologized. Never to this restarunt again . This a honest review for not so honest restarunt read more

It was our first time dining there. We finished our shopping at Patel's and noticed this restaurant. We got the table right away and ordered but then, it seemed that all people who came the same time or later were already eating except from us. Our food finally came and ooh boy, it was simply delicious. The spices were right there! I ordered masala dosa. That was the best masala dosa outside of the Hindu Temple cafeteria in Lemont. Not even Devon section can offer that amazing flavor. All is about the chutney and sambar. This sambar was full of flavor and spices. Dosa itself was melting in my mouth. My hubby ordered uttapam. It was very good and also came with the same 2 chutneys and sambar. He loved it. As an appetizer we ordered vegetable samosas. They were outstanding but unfortunately they came at the same time as our dishes, well my dosa came first so my hubby was munching on it as well. Then he got his uttapam and then our samosas arrived. I would love to give this spot 5 stars as taste-wise is definitely 5 stars but the service and approach towards us lowered this review. We were waiting so long that I forgot to take pics when our food finally arrived. Kuddos to the chef! Food was outstanding! read more

If I could give this horrible place no starts I would, I don't even want to talk about the food, I want to talk About how rude the staff is, we ordered our drinks 2 shakes and water and never got them then we ordered 3 coffees and 1 chai and never got those either, no apologies just we told you it was going to be long, seriously hour and a half long?!? Worst service and overpriced food, I will make it a point to make sure I come here every day to write about how horrible this place is. read more

Extremely overpriced, extremely time Consuming and store bought chips. Only someone who doesn't really value money goes to this place. I love love this place! Of course the food is AMAZING but the staff is also phenomenal! I personally get the the bhaji pav (extra pav), special sandwich (must) and the manchow soup. My mom loves the Indochinese because they have a spicy option! My brother loves the Punjabi thali. Finally my son (15 y/o picky eater) loves the dosas. This was my first time here so I had no idea what to order. I told the server I was vegan so he suggested mysore masala dosa. I had no idea what it was, but I was feeling adventurous. It was delicious! The perfect blend of potatoes and other veggies wrapped in a thin, crispy crepe seasoned just right. The staff was pleasant, polite, and very helpful. It is so unfortunate to see this spot in shambles! The space is unhygienic and not maintained well from overflowing trash cans to bathrooms not kept clean! It is simply sad and disgusting. So on to food, while, it has maintained the taste, I am not sure I feel comfortable eating because if they cannot maintain the front of their house; I cannot imagine what their kitchen looks like. I am not sure it lives into st the mantra/vision as their founder has plastered on their walls. read more

This one is sooo much better than the Schaumburg location. The ambience is modern and vibrant. It is quite spacious and has a lot of tables. I have tasted the hakka noodles, rava dosa, pav bhai on different occasions and I have no reason to complain. The food is delicious and the service is good. Shop at Patel Bro's next door and drop in for delicious Indian street food here. read more

Went to Honest at Naperville a couple of weeks ago... requested a pay bhaji and one of their dosas that was stuffed... think it was Kattapa Dosa. Food absolutely pedestrian. There's no magic or what a pay bhaji ought to taste like. The washroom ... don't even ask. They seem to have forgotten that COVID is still rampant. We had been to the restaurant when it had just opened, and I was disappointed with everything that we had ordered. Last Friday we wanted to give it a second chance. I am glad we did, because every dish we ordered was good. I especially like their masala dosa, it was crispy and well made. We also loved their sev poori, and schezwan fried rice. You can skip the pizza, unless you still like the Delhi's Nirula's style pizza. Junaid the manager at Honest is excellent. He made our experience at the restaurant more pleasant read more

We Were eagerly waiting for Naperville branch to open so we dont have to go to Schaumburg anymore. ordered our favorite pao bhaji Pav (bread) was very hard and schamburg bhaji is way much more better than dis, Chinese horrible very very oily. Dosa wasn't hot and Crispy no spices, totally bland, Tried Indian style pizza base was very thick In Veggies it was only capsicum No taste, Pizza felt like was eating Bread with cheese on top of it.. Only 1 Star for good ambience We are food lovers Tried twice bt everytime it dissapointed us.. read more

Heard this place was great & thought I would try. Wowwww great is an understatement!!! The food was EXCELLENT. I ordered 4 dishes and each one was better than the next. Fresh, flavorful and spicy with generous portions. For ex I've never had a hot & sour soup that amazing. Also my first time ordering using Door-dash. Our food arrived from Honest steamy and hot and my family devoured as much as possible even with leftovers. An outstanding rich and healthy meal. Will definitely be back and cannot recommend enough - Thank you HONEST!!! read more

I went there first time and ordered pav bhaji to go. It took 30 min to serve, earlier they gave me wrong package and after that took 10 more minute to give me my order. Pav bhaji was ok in taste. Please improve your service. read more

I called ahead asking if they had falooda available. We showed up 10min later and they didn't have it. Which is fine if they genuinely ran out. But the guy at the register asked what we wanted and took the order and asked if that's all? So we said yes. I had a wonderful experience at this location. There is ample parking in the strip mall and everything was hot and made fresh to order. You could taste the freshness. The service Was quick, prices reasonable and great ambiance. I had the Samosa Chaat, Pao Bajo, Honest Special Palao and Pani Puri. I would get it all again! Definitely recommend it. read more

My wife and I visited this Indian fast casual restaurant recently. Ambiance is nicer than most fast food Indian places but that's not saying much. Food was good. My wife had the Masala Rava Dosa and I had Pav Bhaji. To gain extra weight we decided to order a scoop of ice cream (forgot the flavor name) and it was very good. I mostly ate the ice cream as my wife suddenly realized she is on a diet of some type. Anyways... a great experience overall we will be back. read more

Worst Dahi Puri (filled with yogurt & sweet chutney ONLY - no trace of potatoes/onions/chickpeas), Tasteless Pav Bhaaji missing salt and flavor, Triple Schezwan more like paneer fried rice & very oily.
