The loudest customer gets their food the fastest. I felt like I was chasing my food's availability. The kitchen wasn't able to make pakoras for some reason but the cashier continued to accept pakora orders! Communication between the staff is non- existent. Checked out this newer Indian restaurant that can be chaotic. Desi Chowrastha has a few locations across the country including this one in Naperville. It certainly seems to be authentic and most people eating here are of that ethnicity so that's a good sign. A lot of the classics on the menu. They have something for most preferences. Basically it's an order at the counter kind of place, and they call out your name when it's finished. It's got a pretty big menu that makes it hard to choose, and that's a good problem. The menu has plenty for meat eaters and vegetarians. A lot is organized by categories. They have curries, dosas, and tons of other stuff. It's about $7 for appetizers. We got the combination of idli and sambar. Basically it's like rice cakes with a spicy soup for dipping into. The rest of the menu is full of stuff. It's about $10 for a dosa. So many interesting flavors of these. I got the Masala Dosa. This is a pretty standard one with potatoes and spices. For sure this is one of the many such places to get Indian cuisine. We went to the newly opened Desi Chowrastaa for snacks, though I had already tried their Dallas location which was pretty decent. This time we ordered Irani chai, cut mirchi, whole mirchi bajji, samosa, dahi poori, and punugulu. The Irani chai was good, not the best but still fine. Cut mirchi was tasty, and the whole mirchi bajji was good but was extremely spicy since the seeds were left in. I wish they had removed them. The dahi poori was nice, a bit spicy but still within my spice level. The punugulu were also good. Out of everything, the onion samosa was definitely my favorite, followed by the rest. read more

I placed an online order from Desi Chowrasta for home delivery, but the order was intentionally changed to pickup using their system. As soon as I noticed this, I called the restaurant and requested cancellation of the order. However, they refused and told me, "We will not do it. Come and pick it up." This kind of behavior shows a complete lack of responsibility and accountability toward customers. In addition, the food quality is often not fresh, and these actions appear to be intentional. It is concerning how such restaurants are allowed to continue operating without proper food quality inspections or accountability measures. I respectfully request the food department to investigate and take strict action against such restaurants, including Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, to ensure customer safety, fair business practices, and proper food quality standards. read more

This is a great Indian restaurant that is located on this big strip mall where you will find a lot of parking spaces up in the front. If you are looking for something that's very authentic Indian this is a must place to go. However, this is not a place if you are looking for some intimate, quiet sit-down spot. This is a very busy area and this is a very busy restaurant. You will have to go up front, order your food and then they'll give you a number and then you'll find a place for your own. Go take a seat and then when your number is called you will have to go pick up your own food from the counter come back, sit down and eat. The spice level is definitely Indian spice level. Even if you do end up ordering medium. It is not the regular medium. It is the Indian medium which is hot and spicy in itself. But if you are someone who likes that then this is a great place for you. The inside decor looks like graffiti designs on the wall, but they all have some sort of meaning or understanding which is pretty nice. They are definitely family friendly and very casual. I don't remember seeing any outdoor seating but then we went there when it was super cold so we were not looking for outdoor seating. Terrible service! Despite only ordering 3 dishes, our food took forever to arrive. I have been here multiple times, and despite ordering the same dish (fish masala), the taste varies each time. The workers always seem confused and inexperienced. The gongura mutton curry lacked meat. The veg biryani was also bland. DC has become our weekly staple for Indian food. We've tried most of their chicken starters, all very good. Also love the Indian street style fried rice and hakka noodles. We get it with egg and chicken, tastes just like in India. The wait times are really long, especially on friday evenings and weekends, so make sure to plan ahead. Catered food here recently and everything came out pretty good. Our favorite was the jalapeño chicken, tindora was good but very fried. The gongura lamb and chicken were good but practically had the base but one just had little gongura. Next time I'll try chaat! read more

9/20/2025 12:50 pm. The lady ordered chicken dum biryani and it was ready in about 10 minutes. I ordered chicken seekh kebabs & garlic naan and was told 20 minutes. 35 minutes later it was delivered up front and the lady was done eating her biryani. The chicken seekh kebabs tasted great, hot and fresh but the naan which was wrapped in foil was room temperature. Two trips for one meal (see earlier trip) and I don't think I will go back, I can make a seekh kebabs at home much faster and likely as good, if not better. read more

The Naperville location is usually pretty crowded. The food is average. I have been to the Dallas location and had a much better experience
