Wow!!! If I can give this place higher than a 5,I would not think twice to do so. Every item we ordered was just perfect. No complaints with any item. Even the chutneys that come with pappri as complimentary were amazing. Wonderful service from everyone at this establishment. The inside is well decorated. I mean very well decorated. But the food, it is amazing. I know we will be back here again.

Went here after a recommendation from a friend for catering. We ordered Dal Makhani 3.5/5 Paneer Tikka Masala 4/5 Tandoori Roti -5/5 Pudina Paratha- 4/5 The food tasted good and definitely will recommend it. Not sure how good their buffet is, I went around 6 pm for a pick up and there were not many people but for pick up there were more orders and I kept hearing that tell the customers we are out on couple of items. I saw reviews about the manager, I didn't get the opportunity to speak with him as he seemed occupied and least bothered but there was another guy who was very nice and spoke to me and answered my questions. Need to try it more before I write more about this place. Ambiance is just ok, it's is like a roadside Dhaba decor in my opinion that's also a very popular form of ambiance in India. And I'm pretty sure their chef is not South Indian specially after tasting the Dal. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

This is my first time at this place. The staffs were friendly, courteous and our orders came quick. Since it was a weekday, it was less crowded. They gave us a complimentary pappad with chutney. The ambiance was okay and not great. It looked a little tacky, however they can accommodate large groups. They had Chef's special and Navratri (an Indian festival)Special dishes in the menu. We ordered the Chef's special Makai Galouti kabab, tomato soup and Tava Soya Chaap with Rumali roti. The starter was melt in the mouth and yummy. Tomato soup was creamy and tangy. The rumali roti was absolutely delicious and soft. Overall, the food was great and I would visit again to try out their other dishes.

A fun colorful vibe hidden in a small strip mall just off Route 59, Shimla is our go to place for Indian vegetarian food. While they don't have my favorite, dosas, they have a wide variety of vegetarian options. The main draw this Saturday evening was the buffet for $20 you get quite a variety of appetizers, rice, naan, and quite a few vegetarian dishes with paneer or chick peas as your protein plus dessert. My husband got the buffet and I went with the chole bhature which was not too greasy and very tasty. Fast attentive, no frill service with a bit loud music and televisions playing Bollywood movies, not my thing but maybe for others.

Only if you are starving you should come here. It is my second consecutive bad experience in this restaurant. I let go the first one , considering a one off situation. But it seems a pattern of bad behavior and arrogance followed by bad food. Taste of was horrible of slimiest everything except butter man. Especially the STORE MANAGER, HE IS EXTREMELY RUDE NOT ONLY to CUSTOMERS but to HIS STAFF too he is behaving so badly. I would not recommend.

Truly original recipes and perfectly seasoned. The service was very prompt, friendly and professional. This place is definitely firing on all cylinders! It's wonderful that most of their items can be made vegan. I ordered the Manchurian, asked for it to be spicy, and the balance was perfect. We shared the stuffed spicy banana pepper as an appetizer. OMG! The place was packed on a Friday night, yet there was no delay with the food and the serving temp was spot-on. After talking to some other guests, I'm quite sure that any negative reviews are coming from their jealous competition!

Heard about this place from friends because we have been looking for good Punjabi food that wasn't swimming in cream. And well this place didn't disappoint. It's a casual dining place in a strip mall. Nothing fancy but the food was awesome. Keep in mind, the restaurant only serves vegetarian Indian food. So we decided to order items that came highly recommended by our friends. We didn't order the typical stuff you see in all Indian restaurants. Here is what we got: Before we got our food, they gave fried papad with green and tamarind chutney. 1. Makke ki Roti and Saag - it was beyond fantastic especially the saag. The saag(spinach) had such good flavor that we ended up getting another order to take home. 2. Amritsari Kulcha and pindi Chola. This was amazing! The kulcha is nicely stuffed with potatoes and it came piping hot from the tandoor with loads of butter. The chole was also very flavorful. On the side, they gave onion, achar and radish. 3. Chola Bhatura - the bhaturas were huge and tasty. They give 2 per plate. The chola was the pindi type with fried paneer as garnish. It also came with onion, achar and radish. This dish also comes with complementary Mango Lassi. 4. Kadhi pakora and rice - This tasted like typical Punjabi Kadhi with pakoda. It had a lot of flavor. The only drawback was that it was served with pulao instead of plain or jeera rice but we let the owner - Raj - know and he completely understood. The strong flavors of the pulao was clashing a bit with the delicious kadhi. In fact, we were impressed that the owner came by and asked our opinion and if he should change anything. That was definitely going above and beyond and was truly appreciated by us. We would definitely go back again even though it's not close by us. The Amritsari Kulcha is well worth the drive. However next time we will also be trying other items on their menu.

Spinach Kofta - A stainless steel bowl holds spinach kofta curry, garnished with shredded cheese and cilantro leaves. The dish is placed on a black table, with other Indian dishes and bread visible nearby, indicating a meal setting at an Indian restaurant.

How's the general spice level on the main chicken or vegetarian entrees? Is it more North Indian spicy or South Indian spicy? (yes, there's a difference).

    North Indian style for sure

I wanted to try the Buffet, to get a feel for the place-the Yelps here said there were lines to get in for the weekend buffet, so I made reservations for one just after opening. When I arrived, the place was almost empty... What can I say? Everything on the buffet was exemplary. A full array of dishes and condiments. I sampled most every item on the board, and I must say the flavors were RAMPAGING! There were about 5 different rice preparations on the board. I tried 3 of them-all great. A good selection of condiments. A few of the dishes were quite spicy-hot, of which I was very glad; however-be advised these dishes were not marked as such. Oddly missing were any sort of Achaar (Indian Pickles). Only possible gripe: all of the proteins were chicken except for one shrimp curry; one usually finds a lamb dish in the mix--then again it was right after opening. Not complaining--the chicken items were all delicious. The only thing I didn't finish was an Idli I had anointed with a sesame sauce, It was ok, but I wished I had hit it with one of the other sauces offered. Plus, it was the last thing on the plate. I was ger-stuffed by then. On a separate board were Pani Puri, and a few desserts (including the BEST Gulab Jamun I've ever had). An almost crisp outer shell with a positively creamy inner. Outstanding. Masala Tea and Mango Lassi were also on the board. I made a foolish faux pas. At the end of the dessert table was a tapped container with a greenish liquid in it, next to the container was a supply of paper cups. Believing it to be a beverage, I took a small sample and sipped. As the spicy savory liquid hit my palate, registering "This is some type of sauce, not a beverage, you IDIOT!", one of the managers standing there (who saw me taking the sip) gently advised it was the sauce for the adjacent Pani Puri. Didn't I feel like a compleat idiot! He kind of laughed at me (deservedly). The sauce was actually delicious, and I dont regret the sip. I assured the manager as much and we had a nice chat. Excellent service throughout. Throwing a well-deserved 5 for bread and circuses. This may be the finest Indian Restaurant I've ever been to. Can't wait to return. Oh, and the place was absolutely packed with Indian folks as I left.

When I look at the menu, I try to look for dishes that I've never had. I know our waiter suggested butter chicken and chicken tikka masala, but those are the most popular safe dishes for non Indians. I say safe dishes because your average American that walks in, is not going to order something that he/she doesn't know what it is. We ordered chicken 65, kashmiri naan, spinach chicken, kadhai lamb, and tandoori shrimp. Just a FYI, the water bottle(s) that come to your table are $2 each. They're not free. Portion sizes are average. Prices were fair. Service was great and attentive. Usually, there would be parking in the front and back. However, for some reason they were both full and there were barely any customers inside the restaurant. You can also park at the nearby parking garage (top level). That's a 2 min walk. -chicken 65 5 - this reminds me of a Chinese dish but I can't remember. I'm talking about the texture when you're eating it. As an Indian appetizer, it was delicious and would pair well with rice. Very addicting to eat. -kashmiri naan 5 - it has a mild sweet taste that is good with savory dishes. A mixture of dried fruits, coconut, and maybe nuts. -spinach chicken 5 - chicken was very tender and the sauce was flavorful. Very safe dish to eat if you're not that adventurous. -kadhai lamb 5 - the sauce has a more bold flavor than the spinach chicken. The lamb was very good. -tandoori shrimp 5 - Just a warning but this is kind of spicy especially for those that can't handle spicy foods. I like that the shrimp are prawn size and they were very tasty.
