Shrimp Biryani
Erik B.

Just want to take a moment to let everyone know that this restaurant is still really good. I ordered the Green Chili Chicken weekend special last night and it is one of the better tasting spicy dishes I've had in a long time. A very interesting combination of flavors that I can't recall having before. But please believe them when they say it's hot. The shrimp biryani I got was once again great too. Just look at how much was still left of the regular size order after I filled my plate with a heap of it! Had plenty leftover to enjoy into today.

I love the biryani at this restaurant. Can't speak to anything else on the menu because every time I go here, I eat Biryani! The food is on the spicier side, even with an Indian palate, I ask for medium-spicy biryani. Biryani is served with a small cup of yogurt raita and a spicy sauce called Salan. The restaurant is generous with raw onions and lemon/lime which make the biryani experience a pleasure. Service wise, I don't have any complains, but neither do I have any accolades for the staff. They do their job of taking your order and bringing the food. I haven't seen them make recommendations or engage in conversations. The restaurant has recently implemented a food serving robot. The robot brings the food to your table and you pick it up from the tray. Gives the place a fast food kind of vibe. The restaurant is generally clean, they decorate with a flower vase at each table with fresh flowers. Like most Indian restaurants, you'll find little kids running around while the parents sink into some good Indian food. There is plenty of free parking outside the restaurant.

The gal that took our order asked (with each dish) "okay, so hot?", and we'd say hot and she said, "okay, then I suggest medium"! She was right. We had the best meal, schwarma was so delicious as was the shrimp biyrani and we had an appetizer that I cannot pronounce but it's in our pics. We will be back. I crave this place.

4 stars for Bawarchi Biryanis. I stopped in for dinner tonight as I was in the area, it's right across the street from Fox Valley Mall. Service is okay, not really friendly or rude just kind of neutral. I tried the Malai Kofta and Chilli Naan bread - both were pretty good, the portion sizes of the curry and rice are massive compared to other Indian restaurants I've been too so kudos for that, now I got leftovers for lunch tomorrow. The malai kofta is a bit garlicy, but still pretty good - their default flavor is medium so if you want mild or spicy make sure to specify, I asked for spicy when ordering and didn't get it, not the end of the world though. There's a 10% discount if you pay with cash, and the food is decently priced. The restaurant is clean and there's plenty of seating. I would recommend visiting overall.

Overall this is a great place for authentic Indian food and the authentic Indian restaurant experience Service (A-) Not the best but everyone is nice and friendly. We had pretty good service but also dined on a Sunday evening and it was not too busy. Our food came out fairly quick but they could work on being more knowledgeable about menu and provide more friendly service. When we asked for additional chutney or added to our order or asked for to go boxes we promptly received them. Again this feedback is based on American cultural norms in restaurants not Indian norms perspective. From an Indian norms perspective they did a great job. Note - you are provided paper plates and disposable utensils for dining. Value (B+) Receipt is attached. For this economy and quality of the food I think it is a fair value. Did not feel like I got a great deal nor did I feel like I got ripped off. I like how we could substitute a garlic naan for rice for one of our dishes. We ordered two dishes and an appetizer for two individuals and had leftovers. Quality (A-) All the food we ordered was really good. Baby corn appetizer - not as good as the former Taste of India or Bombay Chopsticks in Schaumburg but still very good. A bit spicy when ordered medium but really good. The butter chicken tasted great and was authentic - recommend ordering. The non-veg mixed platter was really good and a bunch of food. Highly recommend the garlic naan - well worth it. They found the right balance of garlic. If you are desi I would definitely go and try this place out - it is a safe bet. Note - the service will be hit or miss depending on how busy it is. If you are not desi - don't expect the service you would at other places. Orders make come out at different times, relaxed approach by waitstaff, they are not going to check on you every minute - you have to flag them down, they may or may not be knowledgeable on menu, Attached are pictures

The food was fantastic and the staff were very friendly and patient. We were socially distanced from other tables and the staff wore masks and had sanitizer available at the front entrance. The buffet is not open at this time. I will definitely return!

Nothing still waiting

If I could give this place zero stars I would. The servers might as well be walking backwards. I have been here for 1 hour waiting for my food. It's Tuesday night shouldn't be too hard to give me my food at least in 30 mins but an hour is just ridiculous. I will never come here again. If you're hungry don't come here cause chances are you'll be waiting over an hour. I don't recommend this sorry excuse of a restaurant.

IMPOSSIBLE Biryani

I was never a biryani fan until this place happened to me. I took a to-go for their famous impossible biryani and it completely shook me with - why did I ever not try biryani!! Amazing food and flavor!

Excellent quality food! Biryani was nice and spicy! They are very generous compared to Hyderabad House across the street. Thank you for having the food delicious!

Good Food, But the Difference in Service Was Hard to Ignore…read more My daughter and I visited on August 30th, and I deliberately waited a few days before writing this review because I wanted to be fair about our experience. We have lived in this area for almost four years after moving from the East Coast. We consider ourselves foodies, especially when it comes to international cuisine, and have explored several Indian restaurants throughout the Naperville area. I first discovered this restaurant when ordering takeout. During that visit, a gentleman whom I believe was the manager was exceptionally kind and even allowed us to sample a few items from the buffet. I told him I would return, and I did. Unfortunately, our dine-in experience was very different. After being seated, we received water, but no one returned to check on us. I finished my first plate, and my daughter finished hers before the naan and tandoori chicken were brought to our table approximately 20 minutes later. I am vegetarian, so the chicken wasn't important to me, but we had almost forgotten about the naan by the time it arrived. My daughter also ordered a simple tea. The waiter acknowledged her order, but the tea never came. What concerned us most was watching what happened with the customers who arrived after us. As new customers were seated, we repeatedly heard the sizzling tandoori chicken being brought to their tables, along with naan, within minutes. My back was turned, but my daughter could see the room and began noticing how quickly the other tables were being served. Meanwhile, no one returned to ours to ask the most basic customer-service question: "How is everything? Do you need anything?" My daughter and I were the only Black/African American customers in the restaurant at the time. I am not claiming to know anyone's intentions, but I would be dishonest if I said the noticeable difference in service didn't make us wonder why our table was being treated differently. We frequently dine at Indian and other international restaurants where we may be the only African American customers present, and that has never been an issue. What made this experience uncomfortable was the obvious difference in the level of service we received compared with the service provided to those around us. Before leaving, I quietly spoke with the gentleman at the register, whom I believe was the manager. When our waiter approached, the manager asked him why my daughter's drink had never been brought. The waiter apologized and appeared ready to get her a tea to go, but by then I declined. I want to acknowledge the manager for his sincere, respectful, and genuine apology. He explained that they were short-staffed because someone had not shown up for work. I appreciated the way he handled my concern, and he is the primary reason I chose not to leave a one-star review. However, being short-staffed does not fully explain why customers who arrived after us, received prompt service while our table was repeatedly overlooked. In a restaurant, teamwork should help fill those gaps. I worked as a waitress many years ago; I am a professional writer, and I own my own business. I know what good customer service looks like, and I understand the importance of how people are treated when they choose to spend their money with your business. The food was good. The service experience was not. After giving it considerable thought, I don't believe I would return for their weekend buffet. There are many Indian restaurants in the Naperville area, and good food alone isn't enough when a dining experience leaves you questioning why your table received a noticeably different level of service. I may consider ordering takeout again because I did enjoy the food, and I sincerely appreciate the manager for listening to my concerns. I hope management receives this review in the spirit in which it is written: not simply as criticism, but as an opportunity to make sure every customer who walks through that door receives the same respect, attention, and hospitality. In comparison, excellent food and customer service have kept me coming back to A2B, Shimla Peppers, Indian Harvest, and Bombay Chopsticks (which also offers an excellent buffet). Unfortunately, after this experience, I don't believe I will add Cuisine of India to my list of favorite restaurants or recommend it to friends or others in the area. Because in business, you never truly know who has just walked through your door. Never judge a book by its cover. You don't know who they are. By Author P

Food-wise, we were happy with our selections. We started with the Babai Punugulu. I can't tell you what it was b/c the description only said: A south indian snack enjoyed on the street side, served hot with house chutneys. I can't tell you if there was meat / protein / veggie in it or not. TBH - the menu should have described it a bit more - but it was good and we enjoyed the chutneys that came with it. Having just looked it up online - they are: golden, bite-sized fritters are made from a fermented batter of rice and urad dal mixed with onions, green chilies, and cumin. For entrees - we got the Butter Tikka Masala (w/ chicken) and Rogan Josh (w/ lamb). We asked for them spicy and I thought the spice level was good, but we could have gone spicier - but one never knows. It came with white rice and we ordered a garlic naan. The naan had a good amount of garlic on it so quite good. We enjoyed both of our entrees - I might have gone chicken for mine instead of lamb next time. The sauces for both dishes were really good and plentiful. The only drawback is the ordering / menu. It's on your phone (no menu in the restaurant) - which makes it hard b/c the phone is small - and you literally have to click on each dish to know what it is. Took a while to order. I would recommend having a hard copy menu - or changing the online portion where you can see the descriptions easily w/o having to click on each one. Overall - a great place with good food.

So I'm torn between a 3 and a 4. The place came to us with hype and that also set my expectations in a certain direction. So the tandoori paneer tikka sizzler was top notch. So good. Perfect softness, flavor, char, subtle smokey-ness, the grilled veggies. All Mua! So great. Also as appetizers, we had the Dry Gobi Manchurian, which I would say had great flavor, but wasn't prepared fresh. It was still good. And lastly, papdi chaat, which I didn't care for, though others on the table enjoyed it. On the mains, the paneer butter masala was really good also. So 2 smash hits on paneer items. Dal Makhani was good and could have had a bit more. Naan's were fine. I preferred the garlic naan over the chilly garlic naan and lachcha paratha was also fine. The above was all the best parts. Overall the restaurant is fine inside. It's narrower on the inside vs seeing it before we walked in. The thing is it didn't give me a nice clean vibe. And like, my hands kept feeling sticky on their utensils and even the mens room had run out of paper towels. Just all small things that weren't the best feeling. Service was OK. I think it's kind of very casual-comfortable-whatever. Nothing bad happened, though, but all of these small things do add up. Food alone I would've given this a 4+, but as a whole I landed on 3. Maybe as a pick-up joint, this place would work out for the best. But hey, I'm glad we finally made the trek all the out to Aurora and tried it. Well, now I know. Thanks again and look forward to another visit.
