Let me start with the positives. There were a couple of dishes that this place nailed down cold and that was great. Other dishes were good. Everything else... I'd say was OK. So I'm torn between a 3 and a 4. The place came to us with hype and that also set my expectations in a certain direction. So the tandoori paneer tikka sizzler was top notch. So good. Perfect softness, flavor, char, subtle smokey-ness, the grilled veggies. All Mua! So great. Also as appetizers, we had the Dry Gobi Manchurian, which I would say had great flavor, but wasn't prepared fresh. It was still good. And lastly, papdi chaat, which I didn't care for, though others on the table enjoyed it. On the mains, the paneer butter masala was really good also. So 2 smash hits on paneer items. Dal Makhani was good and could have had a bit more. Naan's were fine. I preferred the garlic naan over the chilly garlic naan and lachcha paratha was also fine. The above was all the best parts. Overall the restaurant is fine inside. It's narrower on the inside vs seeing it before we walked in. The thing is it didn't give me a nice clean vibe. And like, my hands kept feeling sticky on their utensils and even the mens room had run out of paper towels. Just all small things that weren't the best feeling. Service was OK. I think it's kind of very casual-comfortable-whatever. Nothing bad happened, though, but all of these small things do add up. Food alone I would've given this a 4+, but as a whole I landed on 3. Maybe as a pick-up joint, this place would work out for the best. But hey, I'm glad we finally made the trek all the out to Aurora and tried it. Well, now I know. We visited last night around 8:20 PM, well before the kitchen's 9:00 PM cutoff and the 9:30 PM closing time. The dining room was completely packed, and the moment we walked in, we were made to feel instantly uncomfortable by the overwhelming, unwelcome stares from everyone in the room. ​Every single table was occupied except for one large table and a single uncleaned four-top. Instead of bussing that table, the waitress came over and flatly turned us away, claiming the kitchen was "closing soon"--despite nearly 40 minutes remaining on the clock. ​To make matters worse, when we called the restaurant afterward to address what happened, the management was completely unprofessional and did nothing but offer weak excuses for turning away paying customers. Frankly speaking, we landed here because it was new and open on Christmas Day - with zero expectations at all. What a pleasant surprise to find an extremely clean and warm environment, smiling and polite service, along with excellent tasting food. The Makki ki Roti with Sarson ka Saag was great, for me the saag needed slightly more salt, but overall, an absolute delight. The Chinese bhel was an impulse order, but wow...I'm sure glad I tried it. It's tangy, it's spicy, and crunchy - great combination. But the star of the night - the Amritsari Kulche Chhole. I mean, truly PHENOMENAL. My hubby and mom also got the salted lassi and loved that it was well balanced and not overly salty. It does seem like you receive a completely different experience if you make a reservation. What's weird is when you try, it tells you that you can't make a reservation if your party is less than 5 people. We were walk-ins at this location, and we were told at first that they had no spots due to reservation, but then were told we could sit if only we leave in one hour. During our experience, no other tables were occupied, so it was just really strange how they were managing. Service as also incredibly slow - it just seemed like they were confused. I was initially worried it would not be spicy enough because our table didn't specify, but everything had a great kick. My favorite Indochinese option was the bang bang noodles. Absolutely amazing food. Masala Madness is 100% vegetarian, but as a meat-eating Nepali who grew up on flavorful dishes, I can confidently say you won't miss meat here one bit. The Indo-Chinese menu is fire--the flavors hit perfectly. Their vegetarian momos are better than 99% of the ones you'll find anywhere in Chicagoland, meat or not. I've already been back a few times, and every visit is consistently impressive. You have to try the Chinese Bhel (a perfect crunch and spice combo), the Sizzlers (bold and sizzling as promised), and the Eggplant Flatbread (shockingly good). New Indian restaurant in the burbs. The amritsari kulcha was my favorite! It was stuffed with potatoes and paneer and paired well with the chole. The bhatura was good and probably the first bhatura I've had that's not dripping in oil. Mango lassi was great. The Hakka noodles tasted good but could've had more veggies. And the first roasted eggplant flatbread appetizer was another favorite. The eggplant had a smoky flavor. The flatbread does take time to make (as stated on the menu) so we actually got all our entrees before this was ready. read more

My family and I ate at this restaurant today. To say the food was top notch will be an understatement. If you are craving for authenticity, this is your place. Each dish had a unique flavor of its own. The saag with corn bread was beyond good and the taste took us back in time to original Punjab. Papri chaat was something to die for. This is a newer place so they might still be getting in the swing of things, but this was our experience. The appetizers were pretty good and the entrees were okay. Strangely the curry did not come with rice, or they forgot to bring it to us. We also wanted a little more flavor from our entrees. The service was not great. They took our order and gave us the check, but that was about all the interaction we had with our server, even though we asked for a to go box. Group of friends went for dinner. while reserving a table we asked if it's ok to stick around for a bit longer since we were meeting after a long time. They said yes! Before our main course items were served, they started cleaning our table and started to ask for bill!!! (We had already placed main course order)They literally kicked us out, they lied that this table has been reserved and they're waiting, while we saw restaurant had few open tables and nobody was waiting for a table. Three of us ordered carry out which they told it will take an hour to prepare as kitchen is very busy! Again a lie.
