Great ambiance and service. We did the dosa and tiffin buffet and it was such a nice change of pace. Every single item we tried at the buffet was good. Everything really hit the spot and the dosa system was really nice, you go up to them and say your order and then someone will bring it to your table. An upscale room with Indian music playing. Fine aromas in the air. All things pointing to a fine feed. I wanted to try the Buffet, to get a feel for the place-the Yelps here said there were lines to get in for the weekend buffet, so I made reservations for one just after opening. When I arrived, the place was almost empty... What can I say? Everything on the buffet was exemplary. A full array of dishes and condiments. I sampled most every item on the board, and I must say the flavors were RAMPAGING! There were about 5 different rice preparations on the board. I tried 3 of them-all great. A good selection of condiments. A few of the dishes were quite spicy-hot, of which I was very glad; however-be advised these dishes were not marked as such. Oddly missing were any sort of Achaar (Indian Pickles). Only possible gripe: all of the proteins were chicken except for one shrimp curry; one usually finds a lamb dish in the mix--then again it was right after opening. Not complaining--the chicken items were all delicious. The only thing I didn't finish was an Idli I had anointed with a sesame sauce, It was ok, but I wished I had hit it with one of the other sauces offered. Plus, it was the last thing on the plate. I was ger-stuffed by then. On a separate board were Pani Puri, and a few desserts (including the BEST Gulab Jamun I've ever had). An almost crisp outer shell with a positively creamy inner. Outstanding. Masala Tea and Mango Lassi were also on the board. I made a foolish faux pas. At the end of the dessert table was a tapped container with a greenish liquid in it, next to the container was a supply of paper cups. Believing it to be a beverage, I took a small sample and sipped. As the spicy savory liquid hit my palate, registering "This is some type of sauce, not a beverage, you IDIOT!", one of the managers standing there (who saw me taking the sip) gently advised it was the sauce for the adjacent Pani Puri. Didn't I feel like a compleat idiot! He kind of laughed at me (deservedly). The sauce was actually delicious, and I dont regret the sip. I assured the manager as much and we had a nice chat. Excellent service throughout. Throwing a well-deserved 5 for bread and circuses. This may be the finest Indian Restaurant I've ever been to. Can't wait to return. The service is very good at this restaurant but a little slow. The servers got our order wrong but we're more than happy to fix it. They also gave us extra food items at no extra cost. The restaurant layout is a little awkward because it's an elongated hallway type feeling with a hall next door. The appetizers such as the Manchurian and chaat were excellent. However, the main curries were terrible and gave us all food poisoning. The curries were sweet like dessert and made of heavy cream only. Came to try the wkd lunch buffet. The food was as pretty good. A lot of different options. I liked the fresh made dosa station. The dosas are made to order and small. They offer ghee, chocolate, and other option that I don't remember. The service was not so good. It may have been a language barrier, but when we asked how the buffet works being our first time there they couldn't explain and thought we wanted to see the menu and also thought when we went for seconds that we were done and cleared our dishes including my mango lassi that I didn't finish. Go Canada is a restaurant with a large banquet hall located on Ogden Avenue in Wheaton Illinois. It is in a large Indian retail shopping center. We met with the owner Dayakar, who went through the menu with us, offered to have us free samples for any item we picked, accommodated for our crowd, specific special needs, "a surprise, and amazingly stuck to the price. Every single person in our party thoroughly enjoyed the food, especially the fresh naan and chicken 65 appetizer. Got the weekday special non-veg thali and ate until I was stuffed They may change the dishes out or not, I don't know. Mine had chili chicken, chicken curry, butter chicken, paneer with peas and I think cauliflower, daal, yogurt, some sort of milky desert that tasted of rose water, 2 pieces naan, and more than enough rice to gobble it all up with. Every single item was delicious. The only downside was they seem to be having some trouble with their fire alarm system, and it went off like three times while I was eating. If this is your locale, lucky for you. This space where potential restaurants want to open, it's got great luck attracting tantalizing restaurants. This specific storefront. The last three businesses that operated were Andhra style, Indian cuisine. This Indian restaurant is situated in a popular strip mall amongst a number of tasty competitors. Uber close to one of the area's major Asian grocery shopping chains, Patel bros. Golconda prepares cuisines hailing from Andhra Pradesh and Tamilnad. Plenty of great curries, grilled items and dosa to be had. If you visited the previous restaurant that existed here with the same layout, decor and food... It's practically the same. Just a fancy new name. I am curious whether some of the employees from the last business are employed here. Because both businesses had great food. Where they lacked was in service and how well their employees accomplished simple tasks. Things that should be learned within some weeks of opening. Ie they lack front of house staff. This leaves customers waiting far too long. That should also act as foreshadowing for how long it can take to receive the bill or packing materials. It's mind boggling. Thankfully Golconda offers the ability of paying your bill using your smartphone which will expedite the check out process. The hang up would arrive if you have leftovers and are in need of carryout containers. On weekends, staff seem rushed as if they are handling multiple requests without clear coordination. Four stars overall. Their food can be FIVE stars but their abilities to serve food and service customers in an appropriate manner is in the three star range. I hope to check them out again before the "axe falls." I don't wish them demise. I wish they would properly train their staff so that customers are serviced appropriately and wish to return to enjoy more. Time will tell. read more

I have been drafting this review for a week now because so want to support new Desi restaurants but hope the restaurant reads my review to improve and better the customer's experience. Food: was tasty. My children loved it. Service: we had one server for the whole restaurant who wasn't very attentive but very kind. Ambiance: cute decorations and set up. Atmosphere was peaceful and quiet. Reason for 3/5 stars: Being Desi myself, I know how there's a lack of seriousness taken amongst fellow Desi restaurant owners when it comes to allergies. I had mentioned that I had a nut allergy and the server was kind enough to ask the chef what items had nuts. I ordered a masala dosa that she had stated that masala dosa comes with three types of chutney. She said two had nuts in it but the coconut chutney was nut-free. Well, when the plate came out abt 15 min later, it had all three chutneys on there. Why would you give someone who stated they got an allergy all three, and then just point out which one to avoid? You should completely omit the ones with nuts on the plate! If someone had an anaphylactic reaction, your restaurant would easily be sued for negligence. Anaphylaxis can result in shock or be fatal. I'm truly upset that in 2024, our community doesn't take allergies seriously and hope you educate yourselves on how to prepare dishes for those with allergies. read more

I was excited because I hadn't had the pleasure of eating Indian cuisine in a long time. Since that first visit, I'm now hooked. To say that their food is amazing would be an understatement. I absolutely love their Chicken Chettinad which has such a great flavor. I also fell in love with their Lamb Vindaloo is a must have if you enjoy lamb.
