Well I shall start with the good... please see photographs They only seat on one section every tables together To be fair, I did attach a phograph of the 8 people that came in together There is also a photograph of the accessibility ramp for the Disabled with Disability Parking I forgot something in the restaurant after we came for the $15 all-you-can-eat Lunch Buffet and the server/greeter/phone order taker... you name it he does it ALL by himself - well we had to return to the restaurant and he had thoughtfully saved it aside for me However I am a Hindu vegan South Indian from the Subcontinent and this is all dumbed down in spice level for Americans to be able to enjoy it They put dairy and Indian cheese (paneer) in every vegetable My husband eats only one part of the chicken body and today the Party of 8 had taken all of it. It was still full of lots of Chicken Parts so he ate only a little bit of spinach and rice... Ed really hates every vegetable Please do not chip cheap simply because it is a buffet (there is one solo guy doing it all) please tip on carry-out orders as well, SOMEONE cooked your food for you!!! read more

We went that close to closing time so it wasn't surprising that they appeared that rushed. The food however was so extremely spicy that it was almost not consumable. We asked them to make it less spicy but that didn't really work. Not sure we will return. read more

Our family has been eating here for years. Today eight of us dined for lunch taking advantage of the weekend buffet.The vegetable samosas with green chutney are wonderful. The rice here is cooked perfectly and the Chicken Tikka Masala is phenomenal. I also had saag paneer and love their piping hot naan. Many ordered their Mango Lassi drink which is very good! Tried this place on Friday over lunch. They serve buffet during lunch hours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The vegetarian food was great. The food was fresh, delicious with northern Indian flavors. They had cucumber raita, salad, green chutney, tamarind chutney,onion chutney, samosa. For curries they had yellow dal, palak paneer, aloo matar. You can ask the server for your preferred bread which is served hot on the table. Overall the vegetarian food was outstanding. The ambiance is decent. The server is super attentive and quick in his service. As it's located inside the plaza there is plenty of parking spots. read more

How can you not love India Palace? Every time I am back in Wheaton I make it a point to visit. Their in-person dining and their takeout are equally delicious! My family love getting the basics here: butter chicken, lamb korma, and garlic naan. I believe the place is a family-owned business. The owner is so kind and the food is prepared fairly quickly. It seems like they primarily get their business through takeout orders, as every time we have gone to eat there we have one of a handful of diners seated inside. A good find is this place in a boring college town with a surprising amount of ethnic food. Here you can get some of Indian food for okay prices. India Palace is one of the many South Asian restaurants in Wheaton. Good variety for a town so boring. They have plenty of choices for vegetarians. Came here the last time to get lunch. It wasn't busy and we were almost the only ones except for a few others. The menu is basic stuff. It has most of the favorites. We got a few of ours. I had the Vegetable Biryani. It's about $12 for an entree. These prices are typical for many Indian restaurants. It doesn't come with rice, and that costs extra. That sucks. She had the Karai Ka Saag entree. This was spinach with a few other vegetables and spices. It looked okay but there wasn't a lot on the plate for how much it costs. This felt like a ripoff. Has okay food. Its portions and prices kind of suck for how much you get. The entrees don't come with rice, so you're paying even more to get average items that aren't any special. read more

My youngest son and I visited India palace for a late afternoon meal on a Friday afternoon. I have been coming on and off to this restaurant for years. Good food for the most part but they need to offer a better value point. They charge $6 for rice to go with your meal rather than provide it with the dish ordered. The garlic naan was $5-$6 for 1 piece of naan. The mixed grill was flavorful especially the chicken tikka and the butter chicken was good. We ordered mango lassi, (yogurt smoothie). We also had the lamb curry. For the two of us we got out of there with tip for around $100. Too pricey for what it was. Every time I eat here I question if I will come back again. This is one of those places you want to cheer for, but I feel like they a la carte you to death with add ons and extras. The food is actually good but I feel as if they need to offer a better combo meal or two pieces of naan with an order. Not charge you for every single masala chai tea consumed. If they come up with a better "value point" this place would take off! Cheering for you guys but hoping you make it more enticing for your customers to fall in love with this place. read more

I'm fairly new to Indian food, so I've only tried a few places. So far, I've only liked one of them. The other place caused, um, stomach trouble. India Palace is the BEST I've tried so far... and I literally live 2 minutes down the road. My adult son and I order it now and then, and I always get the same thing - Butter Chicken. It's TO DIE FOR. I love the flavor and I really love that it's not too spicy. The chicken is so tender - I wish I could make mine like that! I eat it up with a huge piece of garlic naan bread (which is also delicious). We ordered takeout, and as soon as I got the bag in my car, the aroma of garlic filled my car. My son has ordered the tikka masala and chicken biryani. He really liked the masala, and asked them to kick up the spice. The biryani was the best he's had in our area (he liked one down by his college better - had more/bigger veggies). We also loved both the lamb and the veggie samosas. Very clean restaurant. I liked the music and it was very peaceful. The food is absolutely delicious. I had the vegetable samosas, and the Chicken Tikka Masala. My server was not very sociable or talkative but thats okay. Maybe he was having a bad day. The bus girl was super nice and sweet and actually helped me. They give you like a chickpea tasting like crunchy bread thing. I wasn't sure what it was but she told me the names of the sauces with it that were really good. My favorite was the chutney. My friends and I have a tradition whenever we come home from college called "Pack the Palace" because we love the food here so much. The tikki masala is excellent, as is the ambiance and the overall feel here. Additionally, the buffet that is offered every once in a while is fantastic, especially for the price point. Nothing here is too spicy, toned down for people like me who can't take too much spices, but still enjoy it! When you are seated, the best Tandoori chicken and Naan will be served freshly made. The chicken comes on a sizzling hot plate! There are two other curries on the buffet table, the chicken tikka masala and goat curry. Both sauces are great with the naan! We were recommended India Palace for good food. One of my friends knows the Chef, so we paid a visit! We came in, and there were maybe 3-4 other tables with guests, so very open. The did seat us next to another couple, but it looked like they were trying to keep tables near one another for service purposes. Other than that, the service seemed very good, even with a language barrier with some staff. We always had our drinks filled, and food came out at a good pace. The food was a full 5-stars! We've had Indian food in the past, and for the style and region our dishes came from, they were well prepared. Food was hot, flavorful, and made exactly as we ordered regarding spice level. Great food for the price, and friendly, family owned restaurant staff. 4.5 overall, since during COVID, more space would have been nice between parties. We could have asked to be seated differently. This is a popular place if you're looking for South Asian food, and we are glad it is open and still doing well. The buffet is not in service, obviously, due to the pandemic. Our vegan son was with us and had many delicious choices on the menu to choose from. Food is always good here, and the service is friendly and prompt. The only reason I gave it 4 and not 5 stars is that I didn't have the opportunity to check out the restrooms. So maybe I'll have an update next time. read more
