Great khichdi place. Unique menu for an Indian joint - not your usual Punjabi or South Indian food. I would definitely get this again!

I had my misgivings about dining here again, but we went ahead, to see if things had changed, since we last came. We'd had dinner, at this location, a few times before. And, we had always appreciated the clean & elegant setting, & found the food, to be very good. Not so much, the service, & not so friendly mood.. This time around, we stopped in, whilst they were having their buffet...Beau, is not a fan of buffets, at all, but acquiesced to trying their midday spread. Decades ago, we recall, this restaurant, was home to a very gifted chef, who has since left. And we recall, that chef, of long ago, was indulgent with flavoring his fare, with rich & spicy flavor! So much so, weekends were bustling, because of his sumptuous buffets!! Well, that was a different era, & times have changed.. As this present buffet: Is fairly okay. But, for the price point, one cannot truly complain..To illustrate: tandoori chicken, was brought sizzling to our table, but was found, slightly burnt on the outside. However, the naan bread, brought in a basket, was found soft & buttery!! Just as it should be! Whilst the modest lunch array,, consisting of: two varieties of potato appetizers; butter chicken; rice pulao; & an assortment of vegetarian curry dishes, were found to be, fairly good. But, we found the goat curry, to be the best dish on the buffet, flavorful, & rich with soft meat. Afterwards, we sampled the badam halwa & ras gollah sweets. The former: an almond pudding; & the latter: cute balls of cheese dumplings.. The drinks we ordered, were separate from the buffet..Of Beau's mango lassi, I did not inquire, but he made no complaints that it was sour. However, our after dinner brew, of masala tea, Was Pure Sublimity!! Truly, Tea Time, Is Always, The Best Part Of Our Visit!! Too bad, as I wish I could say good things of the service!! As alas, I truly feel, We Are Always, Treated With Indifference!! The boy server, "Did" his job, with as much warmth as an automaton!! This time round too, the owner, seems to reflect:: Such Nonchalance towards us !! Why Is That, & What The H**?, when Beau, Always Tips So Well?! And so, it is dubious as to whether or not we shall return! Perhaps We'll Dine Elsewhere--Where The Staff & Owner, Actually Give A Care!! Indeed, This Establishment, Should Work On Combining: Good Food, & A Friendlier Attitude. If We Ever Dine Here Again, I Hope Things Will Have Improved..

Every dish--except the salad--was spot on: authentic, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The chicken inferno was especially memorable, and the portions were generous. My only suggestion would be for the kachumbar salad to have more vibrant colors and fresher flavors--perhaps beets and carrots instead of the very chewy purple cabbage. I didn't try any of the cocktails, but I did have a glass of cava brut, which was served in a white wine glass and was a very generous pour. This place is truly a gem, and I hope they continue to keep the same recipes and portions because they've got something special here. We will definitely be back!

They have lunch specials, a happy hour, and tea (!) from 2-5, veg or non-veg options, which I'm definitely checking out. If you're vegetarian, items that can be made vegan are clearly marked, and there are more vegan items on the website than I saw on the menu, so I would ask. Most of the French touches appear to be on dishes with meat, though there are flatbreads and a spinach dip, and of course dessert; there is a lot more paneer on the menu than I'm used to, which might be a gesture towards the French love of cheese. Vegans would do best ordering the soya chaap or from the Accompaniments section, which includes classic Indian items (aloo gobi, dal). Overall there are about 8 vegetarian entrees / accompaniments, plus appetizer options. Restaurant serves wine, beer and cocktails in addition to the usual mango lassi, chai and soft drinks. We got a ginger mojito; mango lassi; the corn fritters; the fig/pistachio/paneer flatbread; garlic naan; rice; the soya chaap and a cardamom creme brulee. In general, food had a blend of spices but was mild, which makes sense given the French influence. The corn fritters were nicely spiced with good texture and a tasty sauce. The garlic naan is quite impressive with lots of herbs and garlic. Unless you love soy cutlets, I don't recommend the soya chaap (soy/wheat cutlets in coconut curry sauce); it's fine for what it is - the gravy was delicious and rich - but it's not for me. The flatbread was interesting; the pistachios didn't overwhelm at all but I would have liked more fig to stand up to the paneer. The spouse was impressed with the mojito; the lassi was OK but wasn't as fruity as I like. The cardamom creme brulee is served in a wide ramekin, maximizing the surface area of the sugar crust and making it easily sharable. Instead of permeating the cream, the cardamom seeds provided little bursts of flavor, which was nice but not what I expected. Service was a bit slow but solicitous - we were there on a quiet Sunday night. Copious parking; easy hours; I'll definitely check out the lunch specials and tea when I'm in the mood for local Indian food, heavy on the paneer.

We ordered the garlic naan twice throughout the dinner because it's just incredible! I could keep eating it. The chicken tikka masala and lamb curry was also incredible. We also got an order of the samosas, which I had never had before and I really enjoyed them. The service was really good from the beginning. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. I liked the calm atmosphere, layout, and decor of the restaurant. I really wanted to give this restaurant 5 stars due to the delicious food, good service, and atmosphere, but I couldn't because the women's bathroom is atrocious. I was shocked. It looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months. The walls, floors, sink, soap dispenser, garbage bin, and worst of all, the toilet was horribly dirty. This would be a 5/5 restaurant. A customer should be able to use a clean bathroom. I hope if the owner sees this review that he or she will take this into consideration. I have never mentioned something like this in one of my reviews, so I feel bad, but I had to say something.

The bar is huge and seems pretty stocked. The seating area is clean and has a decent vibe. However.... the bathrooms are beyond disgusting. The trash can was abnormally overflowing for it being a random weekday lunch that I had visited. The soap to wash your hands was empty (i added water to the bottle and made due). I sure hope the cooks have a different bathroom?? Yuck. Either way, using the old adage that the bathrooms are an easy indicator of the cleanliness of the kitchen... I'm guessing dirty, unorganized, and likely bugs. I wonder what sort of health codes are violated here...

Agree with the others that the prices are on the higher end but the experience is on the higher end too. Service was friendly and attentive. Besides that, maybe a little too attentive...we were there in a Sunday so it was a bit slow (might explain it). Overall would recommend but be prepared to spend $60 and up per person. While some of the spice flavors were vibrant, the actual quantity of meat was shockingly minimal. The chicken entrée had only a few small strips of chicken, and the lamb dish came with just one small lamb shank. For the price point, the lack of protein felt disproportionate and misleading. If you're ordering lamb or chicken expecting a hearty portion, be aware -- the quantity is very limited. The papad and paneer appetizer was overly rich and not very balanced, and although the concept of house-infused liquors is creative, the cocktails themselves were underwhelming. We spent about $300 on two drinks, two appetizers, and three entrées (one vegetarian), and left feeling that the value simply did not match the portion sizes. Fellow diners should know that while the concept is appealing, the protein portions are notably sparse for the cost.

Our server was Ricky, who was helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and also not rushing our table. We see each other rarely so there was a lot of talking. We were seated and greeted, ordered the chicken 65, the bread basket (all different types of naan), and rice chips came to the table with two different chutneys. The chicken was dynamite and the onion garlic stuffed naan was my favorite. Tough to stop eating when you start with such amazing apps. They ordered butter chicken, and I got the eggplant, which always has been a personal favorite. Here it was beautifully plated, had some heat, and also flavorful as hell. I had to stop eating after a couple pieces because I was heating up massively. The weather was gorgeous so the doors were open. I was dressed for work, so I was blazing hot. We sat and talked for a while, then decided to come back and order desserts and coffee. Mango creme brûlée and the pistachio ice cream looked great. I had a mango smoothie which was refreshing and not too sweet. Ricky told us it wasn't super busy so we could stay, which was very kind of him. I have been exhausted all week, lots of meetings and I'll be flying home tomorrow. But this is definitely a large variety of options for people to find what they like.
