Awesome food here, lovingly prepared! Calm atmosphere, welcoming staff! Shaahi Biryani has been our family's biryani favorite for many years now. Clean food, consistent quality, amazing flavors that will bring you back for more! Fam favorites: veg samosa, veg biryani (over the top), elevated standards of deliciousness for beef, lamb, and mutton. I think we have sampled the whole menu. If you are new to the cuisine, do not be shy to ask staff for suggestions and to help with spice levels. Don't miss the tandoori offerings! read more

Abdul was my server. He was very patient. Ordered the Goat Mutton in sauce with Garlic Naan bread. Dish was excellent, it had pieces of goat with bone in it in the sauce which was a good option with the Nann. The sauce was very tasty and fresh and the Spices in the sauce was a 7/10. Abdul gave me a Mango Fizz, yogurt with orange, this was excellent also. It was similar to a smoothie. read more

Don't bother ordering ahead and getting takeout. They will not start making your food until you show up and pay for it.

The chicken biryani is soooo good!! Glad I listened to the reviews about it- very flavorful. I also ordered lamb korma. Overall both were on the spicy side, but I really enjoy that. My husband was very happy about the fresh garlic naan as well. I don't care to look for restaurants for their ambience or even service etc. But this place did well. read more

I ordered chicken beryani personal meal and it took 30 minutes. To get served. Wont recommend this establishment to anyone.

The restaurant is very nice and clean, we waited less then five minutes to get seated. The only reason we wanted to eat here is we saw the $15 special. When we sat down and ordered they said they needed to check to see if all the items were available to make the special. When our waiter came back he said we could not order it because they did not have the items to make it so that was very disappointing so that is why we took a star off our review. In all honesty we probably should have left and went somewhere else. ------------------ We started our meal with the samosa appetizer. It was very tasty and was not too temperature hot so that was nice. I ordered the Apollo Fish, the more you ate it the hotter the spice seemed to get. It really builds up but was great! If your like me and love spicy food you will love the Apollo Fish! My husband ordered the Butter Chicken and loved the flavor of the sauce. We both shared the plain rice and one order of regular naan. It was very good!! If we are in the area again we would consider eating here... if the special of the day is available. We ended up spending double of what we were hoping but it was good to try one time. read more

I always take it to go and this is the best Indian/Pakistani food in town. I love the biryani and Nehari. The seekh kabob is very tasty as well. The naan is so soft and cooked perfectly. I would avoid Shahi Nehari at all costs as they do not have good quality. This food tastes just like my mom would make and when it comes to Indian/Pakistani food, that's what you look for. Give it a shot and you won't be disappointed. read more

We held an event here and the whole process as well as food were flawless. Highly recommend

I missed having Indian food for a long time and discovered this restaurant while out and about. It seemed to have a pretty good rating, so I ordered a large assortment platter of tandoori meats, very expensive. I got nan elsewhere and planned to come home and make rice, dal, and curry veg ahead of a blizzard. All of the different kebab and different meats and fish slathered with the same orange red tandoori sauce. Not a very tasty sauce either. I am extremely disappointed. Plus the appetizer in a flaky crust had very little taste. This is what the guy recommended because the samosas were gone. I was once married to a Bengali and half traveled in India six times, and this food is really among the worst that I've ever had. Sitting in a strip mall, it also is very pretentious with its schlocky "chandeliers" and cloth napkins and tablecloths for sitdown diners, no doubt to justify the high prices for this less than average fare. read more

Worst biryani I ever had . They just heated and it. It was smelling , even the rice was sticky which clearly says that food was stored and served. Always open the box and smell it if you ordered togo. Won't recommend this to anyone. Customer service is bad too when I complaint over the phone read more

This place is one time go to try if you like Indian food . The place is not so big and it's clean seating too. But their service is not too efficient. They are little bit pricey for the place and food. We ordered their specials like Haleem, Biryani butter chicken luqmi and chicken pakora and mixed grill. Haleem was very good it's something like spicy grits with mutton. Biryani was very good and flavorful but again the portions are too small for the price and just enough for one. Butter chicken was ok in taste but chicken was not enough in it again the portion I would say and they could've used little less food color though. Mixed grill was not good and too small a portion. They should work on both their rates and portion sizes. They started were just waste of money. Only Haleem and Biryani was nice And their desserts are a fail too. Need to pay attention on the restroom. read more

Shaahi Biryani - Jumbo mixed grill platter - Indian Near Me - Glendale Heights, Illinois

Looks this place is like most desi spots, where they just suck. The food has no taste. Tried the mix grilled platter which is overpriced and waste of money. They are not consistent with their platter. It looks like whatever they had an excess of, they substituted that. The chicken Briyani was horrible, no taste at all. I think if you buy something, just stick with Chicken 65 for now. Don't waste your money here, its not good at all. Service: 1/5 - typical desi service, no hi or hello Food: 1/5 Ambiance 3/5 - clean place, with adequate lights read more

Wow! If you've been searching for good chicken biryani, your search is over. I don't know how these people get the chicken to be so tender and flavorful. Definitely slow cooked to perfection. The first time I tried their biryani was at an event where it had been catered. I pushed down on the chicken and saw that it was pink. However, the consistency looked as if it was cooked. I tried it. I went and got more. It's cooked. Trust me it's cooked and boy is it flavorful! Just picked up a single order today which consisted of one leg and one thigh piece. Wish there was a tad bit more chicken but I guess for $10 it's not too bad considering the flavor profile. Can't wait to have it again! read more

Tried their goat biriyani. It was pretty good along with their beef chapli kebab. Felt their portion was less for the prize.

Not worth your money! Service is really bad and waiter was very rude. Food was tasteless and unauthentic.

I stopped by this never been biryani place to order a to-go for a kid's party and wasn't sure of their spice levels.. I asked hesitantly to see if they would let me get to taste so I know how appropriate their biryani would be for kids.. The front desk staff were soo nice to honor my request and also got me a huge sample tray almost worth my entire dinner.. Very accommodating staff and the chicken biryani I tried was made fresh.. I was so impressed I ordered both chicken and goat family pack biryanis and will order for my upcoming work party as well.. Great job guys Update: Went home to check that night only to see both my family pack biryanis were chicken when I ordered a goat and a chicken biryani. Upon calling to mention the same,, I didn't get a favorable response. I'm was disappointed about that after a great initial experience read more

I visited Shaahi Biryani last week from Colorado Springs Colorado. Very nice place for great Authentic Hyderabadi food and family sitting. Very neat and well maintained place. Especially the bathroom is no less than Marriot or Sheraton standards. Nice and friendly customer service. Speed of food delivery was awesome. Met with the restaurant owner Mr Shafi. Very humble and down to earth individual. I strongly recommend people to give a visit to this place for a great memorable food adventure. Will definitely visit again for my next trip to Chicago. Ash. Second time there. Newly opened Indian restaurant ( Mostly Hyderabadi dishes) Small sit down area but reasonably tidy and quick service. In starters Lokmi ( ground beef puffs) was good, chicken pakora was dry but flavorful. Lamb Haleem is the BEST IN TOWN! Goat Biryani is good. Platter was OK. Patther gosht ( lamb fry) was excellent. Butter chicken was very gravy than it should be. Tea is great. Place to come back again! Especially for HALEEM read more

They cancel orders for no reason. Placed an order with Uber Eats, 20 minutes later they cancel.

Excellent flavor! This was our first visit and I hope we get back soon. The Frontier Chicken was amazing the first time and the leftovers accumulated some heat along the way and were good all over again. The service was sufficiently attentive. read more

I have been ordering food from this place for both lunch and dinner.but last night the food was not up to the par. The samosa was soggy and open and falling apart. The rice was half cooked and naan was not fully cooked as well. The only plus point was dum ka chicken which was good. We had to throw the samosa out because it was not samosa at all. I have never complained about it's shape because the samosa served during lunch and dinner is so different. read more

Had a great dining experience. I don't usually rate 5 stars but this place offers the whole package: great customer service, authentic food and a clean atmosphere. I saw a sign on the front door which encourages the poor to come eat for free. Speaks volume to their commitment to serve the community. Aside from that, the food was amazing. I had biryani, Haleem and lamb chops. Hands down, the best desi food in the suburbs. Highly recommend! read more

This place is nice but the only thing I enjoyed fully is the lamb plate it was very delicious and tasty, I had it with some Paratha bread .. the chicken was ok and the goat biryani was not that good. Definitely, will go back for the lamb plate though. read more

I've always taken away from this location. The food seems to be hit or miss. Lamb biryani was dry and not too much lamb meat in there. Butter chicken has always consistently been good. The naans seem to be dry. Channa masala was very bland- seems like they forgot to put spices/seasoning in it. I've gotten other vegetables dishes from here, and they're usually not as good as the meat dishes. Unfortunately, the few times I've gotten biryani, the rice is always dry. read more

In my opinion, this restaurant has the best Hyderabadi Biryani in the Chicagoland area. Nowadays Biryani has become a hot item and many restaurants claim to specialize in it. Any purist could easily point out that the majority of these places are not authentic whatsoever. Shaahi Nihari has a pretty diverse menu but much of it is hit or miss. For example other staples such as Talaava Gosht and Khatti Daal were average at best. I was excited to try out some harder to find dishes such as Marag as well, however this was rather bland as well. read more

This is an excellent Indian restaurant. The interior is spacious, modern, very clean and quiet at lunch time. I had the vegetable korma and butter naan, both of which were absolutely delicious. Portions are generous, so I took half home for another meal. The server was very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend it! read more
