Jbeez is UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT and I'm so glad we decided to check them out again after our visit over a year ago. They decorated the dining area very nice. Tables are best, tidy and the place is very clean. The Pakistani food is delicious, made fresh daily and they offer halal meat entrees. The menu has expanded quite a bit and offers dishes for every palette from non spicy to spicy both vegetarian and various meats. They had a huge catering order of over 50 Nihari containers that smelled and looked really good! (I'll have to try that next time too!). The Mediterranean Grill items provide hummus, salad and rice accompaniments! I ordered the boneless chicken breast shish kabab which had a generous amount of meat. We also ordered the chicken tikka which came with 4 pcs (2 leg quarters). All the meat had nice seasonings, flavor and were not overly spiced. We ordered 2 lacha paratha's to accompany all the chicken that were really tasty. Even though we were full, we couldn't stop eating the rest of the paratha's! The chai and kheer was spot on and not to be missed! We plan on returning on a weekend to try their puri halwa. What an interesting fusion menu! Self-proclaimed "desi fusion", JBaez has an incredibly long menu featuring dishes from Pakistan but also incorporates various Mediterranean dishes. Unfortunately I worry that the quality is not as great however, because of how vast the menu is. As others have mentioned, the pita bread was not very fresh. And I had a chicken steak (thigh) wrap that was decent. The staff was friendly. Unfortunately the service was NOT quick even though I was the only customer (so I wouldn't consider it "fast food" like it says on the sign outside)! Sadly this was a disappointing experience- from the indifference of the staff and unkempt air, to the bland food- Why not tell us upfront that you are a HALAL Pakistani restaurant? Middle Eastern? Not so much - I don't think so... pita was definitely from frozen and arrived rock hard (didn't bother to taste it) , hummus watery and tasteless, rice tasted like soap, falafel was burned, hard and no flavor, tahini was weird- in fact the only tasty thing we had was the 0.99c garlic sauce which we tried to drown everything else in to wipe out the taste of the disappointment. Ordered online and went to pick it up as requested in 40 minutes. I had to wait another 20 minutes so 60 minutes from the time i ordered. They don't do volume I think so make everything once a call comes in. Food was blant and nothing special for the wait or the prices. read more

We stopped in at 8:45pm just before closing, and the staff were super nice, they welcomed us to dine in even though they close at 9, they stayed till 9:30 when we finished, and gave us great service through and through. Huge entree, enough to share for two people. Fries were fresh. No stale fries. We also ordered 4 beef samosas which tasted authentic and delicious, not overly stuffed with only onions and no meat inside like most places, these samosas went great with a cup of chai (upon request). Can't get over the great service, I hope this place gets good business. I love this place. It's definitely a hidden hole in the wall gem! I was looking for something different and came across this place online and let's just say I'm a regular! They people who work there are alway respectful and nice and are always welcoming! The older gentleman there always likes to come out and pray and it doesn't bother me! I think one should always believe in their faith! Moving on, the food is delicious! The Chicken Shish Kebobs are amazing! It comes with chucked chicken breast, rice, hummus, salad and pita bread which was all seasoned well and the meat was tender and delicious! Great portion sizes as well! The beef and chicken samosa are delicious! They are the beast I had in the suburbs. They consist of minced meat chicken or beef, onions, cilantro and chilies and are so good! The egg rolls were not my favorite but they were not bad! That also had a chicken sandwich and fried but I did not get the chance to taste it. However it looks delicious. Once they let me try a new menu option and it was a gyro pizza and I thought it was delicious but the dough needed to be cooked longer but the seasoning was perfect! Not only are the employees very friendly, but the food here is amazing! Got mixed kabob option #2 to feed 3-4 people and let me tell you, there was so much variety of meats that was beautifully charred and was still juicy and tender. Hands down both the dark meat and light meat chicken was the best!! The only meat that needed some help was the steak kabobs which ended up being a bit overcooked but was still edible. The babaganoush and house sauces were a perfect compliment to the meats. They give you pitas which you can make your own pockets of deliciousness. Overall very satisfied and will be back soon! I was pretty hungry and looking forward to a nice lunch, given the Yelp ratings. Maybe I was there on an off day, because my expectations were left wanting. To be clear the food wasn't bad. It didn't make my son nor me sick, but it was pretty bland. I had a chicken wrap and my son had the gyro wrap. We shared a side of fries. As I said, the wraps were bland and very loosely wrapped (I think it was a tortilla). The hot sauce pepped things up a bit. The fries were quite soggy and greasy, like the oil wasn't hot enough. I found this place from Yelp and my husband decided to stop by last Saturday, 30th of March. The owner is a very personable pleasant guy and he was patient explaining the menu. The food was fresh, and piping hot. The chicken Shish kebob Entree was delish. The rice was just right. I would have liked a little bit more salad for the meal but that is just a personal preference. The meal for six took 30 minutes to prepare since most of it is made from scratch, absolutely worth it! Fantastic find tucked away in the corner of a strip mall in Carol Stream, which is sort of where I expect to find great food at this point. I went to J Beez, not to be confused with Cubs middle infielder Javier Baez, when I was working from home one day, just to try it. I walked in, and it was dark and as quiet as a grave. Odd, but whatever, there's someone there to talk my order so we'll roll with it. I got a falafel lunch special for $10 or thereabouts. I also grabbed some baklava, because I didn't feel great and so why the heck not? $10 gets you a lot of food, cooked when you order. The two things of rice wrapped in grape leaves were quite good; bitter/sour is not a flavor I get to experience very often, but I was open to it and liked it. Salad was lightly dressed and similarly sour. The falafel was high quality, but the magic is in both the tahini and baba ghanoush. Both were incredibly fresh, bright, flavorful and perfectly textured. Worth going back for that alone. The baklava were shatteringly crispy *and* dripping with honey; exactly what I was hoping for. I have only good things to say about my experience with J Beez. You can't see the place from the road because it is tucked away in the farthest corner of the plaza, but it is worth seeking out. We had chicken kebab, which was perfectly seasoned and cooked at the time of order (not precooked). It came with rice, salad, and a serving of hummus. All of this was done well. We also had the dolma (grape leaves) and Baklava -- all of which was good. The thing that kind of sets J Beez apart from the other Mediterranean place within a short drive of my place is the hot red sauce. They make their red sauce in house, and you can tell a difference between it an other red sauces. One meal fed two of us, so the portions were good as well. I look forward to going back and trying the falafel. The people behind the counter were very pleasant. One thing you should note when going to J Beez is that it is called "fast food" but since it is made to order, it could take upward of 15 minutes. Found this place on Google and Yelp. It was a gem on a Wednesday night where I didn't want to cook. It's located in a forgotten corner of a small strip mall. One look of our food and I was sin love. Staff was so friendly! They deserve all the tips! We ordered Beef shish kabob entree and chicken steak entree along with falafel and grape leaves. Nothing on the plate was bad. Chili sauce and tahini that accompanies the food is amazing. They give you pilaf, hummus, pita, and seasoned lettuce in the entree. Needless to say we will be coming back!
