Zahid Nihari opened here over a month ago. There's free parking and plenty of room to spread out in restaurant. They have partitioned areas for parties as well. Inside is very comfortable and relaxing. It was very clean and they keep the place nice and cold in the hot weather. Ali our server was excellent. He checked in on us many times and attended to our every need. The menu is extensive and there had to be over 10 carry outs waiting at the register and it was only 10:30am! The prices here are excellent vs Devon and the NW Suburbs! We came to try puri halwa and paratha and eggs. All servings were generous! My ratings: Puri's: 5, larger than most places and not too greasy. Delicious! Chenna's: 3, little liquidy vs the usual gravy consistency, taste ok Aloo bhaji: 3, again little liquidy vs gravy type, they add a very little bit of hing (Indian spice) which gives a different flavor. Halwa: 3, excellent smooth blended consistency but a little too sweet for me Achaar: 4, good mango pickled flavor No yoghurt was served as is typical at all the other places. They did bring some when we requested. Fried eggs: 5, cooked perfectly! Paratha: 1, It's made with fermented Khamir flour but not with regular atta flour as a paratha is made. It was fluffy vs flaky and soft vs crispy as they use yeast or fermentation in the dough. Chai: 5, fresh, hot, hint of cardamom flavor. They just opened so I'm giving a little pause and I think in time they will work out all the kinks. I'd like to return and try some entrees.

When you first walk in, the restaurant is so clean! We were greeted and seated right away. The menu has a lot of food options. This is a new restaurant... so not all the items are available to order. We ordered two Aloo samosas and an order of mozzarella cheese sticks. They were both served nice and hot and were crispy on the outside and perfect on the inside. My husband Robert ordered the butter chicken with a side of rice. It was a little spicy for him so we ordered a side of naan and that helped cool it down for him. It was very delicious! This has to be the best naan I have eaten in a very long time. I ordered the finger fish which was very crispy / crunchy and delicious! Will definitely order this again! I cannot wait to come back and try more items off the menu. They are going to have a buffet on the weekends... I cannot wait to come here when that is available. Everyone we came in contact with was very professional and kind! So excited to have this new restaurant to add to our favorites!

I ordered chicken biryani from this place, taste and flavors were authentic. Spice level was okay, could have been lil more spicy.

Pita House Restaurant - Fatoush salad, falafel, beef shawarma sandwich

That's mostly because I've been burned by a couple of places where I gave them the five stars for a nice meal, only to be slightly more disappointed on future visits. But Pita House earns the five stars for me, because I've been there very often, and besides the wonderful food, I find them to be consistent, polite, and professional, with reasonable pricing just as a bonus. On this visit I opted for the beef shawarma sandwich, falafel, and the fatoush salad. I ate inside as I usually do here, because it's easy, spacious and clean. Although I'm not a huge falafel lover, I always enjoy them here. The salad was a new choice for me and I really liked it. The beef shawarma is my standard go-to here. Usually I order the plate, but lately I've gone with the sandwich. They stuff it nicely. Although I haven't had their lentil soup lately, it is always excellent. Five stars here for me!

I've tried it about three times over the past four years, and each visit has been disappointing. The quality of the food is now very poor. The chicken is bland and often undercooked. There's nothing truly Mediterranean about the food anymore--the rice tastes more like Mexican cuisine than Mediterranean. On my last visit, I ordered a chicken sandwich, which was not good, and some pieces of falafel. The falafel looked great on the outside--crispy and golden--but the inside was undercooked. It's unfortunate because the owner is still the same, but the quality just isn't what it used to be. I'd recommend saving your money and trying another place instead.

When we entered the restaurant, if you feel like you're transported into another country, even the background music compliments what you're about to experience It's a dicey kinda place nothing fancy. First you would have to take a look at the menu and place your order at the front. They do not have waiters staff to your table. There are two rooms one that you can sit with the front table to order and another room is full of tables that can also accommodate large parties. The guy was pretty good remembering who ordered what while people were coming in and out, placing orders and sitting down and enjoying their food. To my surprise, the service was quick and friendly we ordered the six piece falafel appetizer which was crispy and hot and the tahini was nice and creamy Hubby enjoyed his grape flavored crush. Haven't had that in a while. When we got our meal hubby ordered the beef and chicken combo shredding pieces on top of rice nice and tender had a lemony taste to it and I had the assorted shredded soft beef on top of seasoned yellow fluffy rice. When we got our meal, it was plenty , especially for the price. We could have shared a plate The meat was nice and tender and the sauce was spot on the season yellow rice yum! I couldn't stop eating the rice, but I had to cause I was getting too full that we had take out containers and can I tell you the leftovers was even better! I overheard one of the customers who was happy with his wrapped meal said compliments to the chef the owner said it is his grandmother who cooked and prepared our food. overall it was a nice experience. Staff was friendly place was clean. Food was good and plenty. I'll definitely come back here again even if it's out of the way, the flavor and the texture of the rice was really good! This was a nice find you don't stumble upon new places like this often so I won't gate keep it. if you like this kind of food and you're picky about your rice then Check it out and enjoy your meal here!

When you walk in there are happy hour specials posted but you have to come between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to get the special price but it's worth it look at my photos to see them. They have dine in (you order at the counter,) pick up, as well as delivery available. They also have a catering menu. My husband ordered the chicken skewer dinner it came with rice and a Greek salad and a side of pita bread. My daughter ordered the Gyro kids meal and her and I split it because she eats only a small amount of food. If you check in on Instagram or Facebook you get 10% off your check. I checked in on Facebook but they didn't give us the discount so she gave us a free side of Greek potatoes. The food was really good, we will definitely be back again. They had television sets on the dining room but none of them were on. They have Pepsi products that you fill yourself. They have a little dessert display which I took a picture of that as well. My husband and I ordered the Greek salad, chicken pita, and Olympian pita. I genuinely do not understand how this place is still in business and how it even has more than two stars. The service was decent but as far as the food they should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. I am aware that this is more of a fast food chain, but I would take McDonald's, Burger King and Taco Bell over this. I was craving Greek food all week and reviewed a lot of different restaurants in the area. This place had the highest stars safe to say I will absolutely never eat at this place again or recommend it to anybody else I know or don't know.
