Found this Indian and Pakistani restaurant in Schaumburg in an unassuming building. It happens to be in the same strip mall as Fortune House. Tasty Nihari is pretty authentic stuff. A tiny place with a table outside. You can find plenty of stuff on the menu so get a table. Coming in here the first time it was surprising how little room there is inside. It's got one table outside. The counter at the front is where to pay. It also happens to have cheeseburgers. We came in to eat lunch. It's about $9 for the cheapest entrees. Lots of choices for vegetarians. I got the Chana Masala. This is the classic item of chickpeas in a sauce. Good flavor. She got the Mix Veggie. As you can imagine it's a mixture of vegetables such as carrots and peas. These came with a side of rice. Got lots to choose from including Indian versions of cheeseburgers. It's best sticking with the authentic stuff. There's plenty to get for vegetarians. read more

Food was decent. It's a one man show here so it does take a short bit to get the food but service is exceptional. food arrives hot and ready for your eating and the flavors are really good. would recommend if it's a stop on your way home. The veggie samosas were the highlight of the meal. read more

Definitely delicious. Everything is made fresh and portions are good. The owner is very nice as well. Franky rolls are the best

Tiny little mainly take out place with 2 small tables. The goat biryani is amazing, there was only 2 bones in mine but both had some marrow in it! Yum! The rice is strongly seasoned and every grain is covered. Nice fluffy rice, sooo good. There was a bunch of orders before us so order ahead if you don't want to wait 20 minutes for food. read more

The food here is very good and the service is kind and welcoming. I ordered the double cheese burger and have to say that the meat tasted fresh and had that authentic "home cooked" taste! Thank you! read more

I was in the area searching for Indo/ Pak groceries when I found this carryout food stall. They have few tables for casual dine-in but because that is also where their counter staff relax, it doesn't feel welcoming for the random person that wants to dine-in. It presents as mainly a food stall for carry-outs. The decor of the shop pops with food marketing. Pictorial displays on TV menu boards behind the counter. Their windows are filled with food marketing for zinger burgers and barbecued entrees. (Not to be confused with American BBQ) (If you've never had a zinger burger, these are spicy fried (Halal) chicken sandwiches. They started in India & Pakistan and made its way to the US.) An opposite wall bears a very large menu with many, many items available. Though, as I'll mention below, not all are available all of the time. Another consideration is that this shop has changed hands (ownership) a number of times over the years. So, despite the many pictures on this listing, those items may not be available any longer or prepared in the same manner. Wanted any lamb specialties on menu but at 4 pm on that weekday, none were available. Instead, ordered samosas and chicken biriyani to go. They quoted a twenty minute wait for carry-out and were on time. For the small-ish spend the bag was heavy. The biriyani container was packed full of mixed rice. Samosas were served with a watery version of mint chutney. I'm curious if it was previously frozen or mixed with water to produce more. Too bland to taste. Samosas were nicely crispy but the filling too was bland and just meh. Maybe the flavors are regional and that's why the other reviewers enjoyed the food so much? I'm not sure. One and done unless somebody local tells me what's best of menu to try. read more

This place is owned and run by a family and they are very casual and accommodating if you are nice. So if you are a uptight person please do a take away. The kid at the reception is really nice and always greets with a smile. The food is really good and Fresh. All in all a very good experience. read more

The man at the front was welcoming and very kind. Nice little restaurant. There isn't very many tables which I don't really care about. I just moved to the area and who doesn't have trust issues with new places nowa days! HAHA! This place is 10/10 recommended!! I gratefully enjoyed the Nahari, Haleem, Chicken Biryani, and Naan read more

Not a big restaurant like a Chinese takeout restaurant. Few seats in the front area but they are right, Nihari was tasty and lunch hour deal two naan and extra large nihari was a great deal. Nice girl at the counter was very well mannered. If I was living in the area I would have been their regular customer. read more

From out of town, found them on Yelp and absolutely loved the food. Authentic Pakistani food with great prices!!

I have nothing but excellent things to say about this business. From the portions to the flavor everything is great!

Awesome little spot for Indian/Pakistani food. I find myself craving the Franky Rolls at times, and LOVE their Frontier Chicken. Can't wait to have some soon! read more

Good burgers and butter chicken , chicken biryani and nihari r tasty . Should give a try

Great local homemade tasting food. Also, not a chain so great small business to support.

I have ordered their cheeseburger .. which tasted like chapli kabab burger ...their veggies were stale ...do not recommend .....definitely not worth the price .. read more

Food was PHENOMENAL!! service was welcoming and top tier, ambiance was warm and friendly. We were graciously offered to dine in and we did. Portions were abundant and the food was flavorful. Prices were amazing compared to others in the area. Only 9.99 for entrees! The gentleman at the front was super helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. Thanks for the great experience, we will be back! read more

I've been here a few times now- and my excitement at having this place within 2 miles of my new home is renewed every time. The first time I got some of their goat biryani (AWESOME!!!), along with some garlic naan and regular naan. Biryani=excellent. I'm no biryani connesuere (sp)? But hot damn that was good. Naan- they make this right. In a tandoori oven. Fresh. It's goooood. I'm pretty darn happy just ordering the naan and getting some of that green yogurt sauce to dip it in and eat. That's heaven for me. But then, in my heaven the clouds are made of bread.. Note- my wife and I weren't big fans of the garlic naan. But maybe that was just because it didn't taste great combined with the butter chicken curry (my wife's order). On its own the butter chicken was pretty good, or with the regular naan. Then I ordered a ton of dishes for my birthday party. I can't remember them, but it was some of just about every section on their menu- and it was all great. I've never seen some of my friends eat like that. Plus everyone took some home. That only happens when they like the food:) Most recent visit was today, when I finally tried the gyro. Get. The. Gyros. (At least at some point). Lunch special is well priced at around $7 for a massive packed gyro that puts burrito joints to shame, some tasty fries and a soda. I just finished devouring it. And will now have to think of additional excuses for my wife to let me go to this place more often. Last note- sauce is boss- and this place respects that by having excellent sauces to accompany their dishes read more

I've been going to this place for years but won't be going back anymore. I cant stand a place that cheaps out on sauce. I ordered 3 entrees and it did not come with any sauce at all. When I asked for sauce (Chutney or Raita) they said it was extra but I had already paid. When I insisted I should get some with my meals I was given one little cup. I hope the 25 cent savings was worth it because you just lost a long term customer. Also I know a few others who have had the same issue. Pakistani and Indian restaurants always provide raita, chutney or other types of sauce its always free whether you eat in or take out. Don't cheap out and you won't lose more business. read more

I was going over to my mom's house for a party, and decided to order 8 beef samosas, 4 vegetarian samosas, and 1 order of butter chicken. The samosas were good, everyone was happy with them. The butter chicken was a disappointment at best. There were literally 5 of the tiniest pieces of boneless chicken cubes swimming in the thinnest soup of a sauce I've ever seen. FOR $10!? Less than 2 oz of chicken?! Ripoff. Flavor was off. It tasted like watered down pasta sauce. I was embarrassed to have brought that to the party. I would not recommend them for entrees. Total rip off, and even the taste wasn't redeeming read more

Make sure you call before you travel 45 minutes to this place. Checked yelp and it said the opening time was 11 AM. Checked their website which said they 10 AM. Stay away guys. I even wonder why they have some good reviews maybe because it used to be a different management. My experience.... I made my self to throw up in order to get the food out of me. That's it. Horrible food. If you ever had good Indian or pak food then stay away from this place because it will kill your appetite for indo-pak food. We ordered two items yesterday . Both items were reasonably priced and good quantity . The doodh dulari was amazingly tasty. All our guest were crazy over the sweet . The Karai Gosht was so tasty and one of a kind taste. I would highly recommend this place for good food and great customer service read more

Food is excellent Not sure what other reviewers are complaining about either portion size or quality. excellent Pakistani food. One complaint: the hours on the website or through any of the ordering/delivery sites for Sunday is inaccurate: menu offers breakfast and shows as being open from 10.00 but my order from Grubhub had to get xcl'd and credited back because the driver arrived and no one was there. Even on their website it shows 'Open' and allows me to build an order. I write this as of 14.15 (2.15 PM) and still no one is answering the phone. A bit frustrating because rainy Sunday afternoon calls for some Haleem and Frontier Chicken. UPDATED: owner personally rang us about 16.45 (4.45 PM) to apologise and explained he had a personal emergency and since he is the owner of a small personal business, no one was able to open and run the shop. Placed our order and, happy to say, delicious as always! This is our go-to restaurant for Pakistani / halal food. Highly recommend! Assalāmu alaikum! read more

This is my first time writing a review . I would just like to share my heartfelt experience. I had placed a large order for a party for today . However , due to being in the hospital I was unable to pick it up and also had to cancel the event . I called them after returning home and let them know that I would at least like to cover the cost. However , the owner being so kind did not want me to cover anything instead he said I just hope you feel better. I was overwhelmed with how compassionate and kind he was . Thank you so much for being so kind and caring . I have always had such great food from this place but the service and hospitality is definetly unbeatable. read more

This review is well overdue, but before I put it off any longer, it must be said: BEST PAKISTANI FOOD IN THE AREA! Bold statement, I know. But man, everything that I've ordered so far hit the nail right on the head of my appetite. You can't go wrong with their Frontier Chicken, Beef Samosa, Palak Gosht, and the Red Chicken Boti (my favorite). The portion sizes are huge compared to the quality and price of what they charge. read more

This restaurant is right across the street and most of the dishes here are really good. The prices are just right and the owner (Mr. Fawad) always gives you a personal touch whether you are ordering a large meal or just one curry. They have their lunch combo boxes and paratha (Frankie) rolls that are very good. Try their Goat Biryani, Frontier Chicken, Chicken Boti BBQ and Beef Nihari. Last week (07/08) m, I gave them a catering order for 25 people for a party at my house. All the guests simply loved the food and it was delicious. The portions were just right and he priced it right and gave me a discount as well. Going to be a customer here for long time. Try them and you won't be disappointed. read more

We were picking up a carry out at the Thai restaurant next door, and we saw a lot of people came to this place for carry out also, so we tried them the next day. Honestly, I would rate the food around 2 stars, but considered their pretty low price and big portions, I give them one extra star. We have another India Carry out place nearby and their food was much much better but the price was way higher. Having said that, I would rather pay a pretty penny for good food then save a buck or two for mediocre food. read more

Horrible service. Ordered from Uber and when we opened our package of food one of our items was not the one I ordered Bhendi masal to be more specific. We called the restaurant and tell the guy we got the wrong one and the guy says" no you got the right one we ran out of okra" so why didn't they just call and tell us your sold out of it so we can change the order instead of just substitute it with something and not notifying us. Never ordering from here again. read more

Note : this review is as a vegetarian. This place is known for their meat dishes. I had palak paneer, garlic naan, samosa, raita, and rice. The palak paneer was not good. The paneer was non existent but was fine by me becsuse it was chewy and over cooked. The dish lacked taste. The garlic naan and rice was ok. And you get one tiny raita which was not good. The samosa was dry and had no flavor. The service was great. read more

Really do not know what happened to this place. Used to be good and decent service. I tried to place an online order as I had before and two times it was "missed". So i try calling and it rings and rings and rings (around 4pm on a Monday) and someone picks up screaming that they don't open until 5. Even though every single website of theirs, on yelp, grubhub, all say open all day until 10. Then i go on to explain how i tried to place an online order for later pick up (515) and she screams again they aren't open until 5. I explain ok thats great, i need something for later, can you take my order. So she does, repeats my order, then again said to call back later to place an order. I hung up, second time I've had this type of experience. read more
