I just had to share about a recent dinner my wife and I had at the Taco Maya in Schaumburg. Full disclosure, I'd popped into their Bloomingdale spot when it first opened and it didn't quite hit the mark for me back then, so I wasn't really planning on a return visit. But then my wife mentioned they had a samosa taco and honestly, that was all it took. I was intrigued enough to give the Schaumburg location a shot, and boy, am I glad we did. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by Nagesh, who was an absolute star. He was so genuinely friendly and super helpful. I usually like to get recommendations, and he totally delivered with some fantastic suggestions. He also casually mentioned their app has a cool deal where you get $7 off your first order if you sign up for to go. We decided to dine in that night, and Nagesh smoothly guided us through everything pointing out the big menu on the screen and also handing us a smaller one to look over at our table. He just told us to take our time and come up to order when we were ready, which was really nice and relaxed. I went for the three taco dinner, which comes with rice and your choice of refried or black beans. Heads up, if you go for one of their specialty tacos in the dinner, it's an extra dollar per taco, but totally worth it. My first taco was the steak, and wow, it was phenomenal. The meat was incredibly tender, packed with flavor, and had that perfect char you dream of. Next up was the Chingon taco steak and chorizo with melted cheese, Yes please. The combination of the char on the steak and the kick from the chorizo really made that one sing. For my third taco, I usually steer clear of Al Pastor, but Nagesh really sold me on it when I asked him about it and you know what. My mind was blown. The Al Pastor was incredible, and the pineapple was just perfect. Seriously, I haven't had an Al Pastor taco that good in years, Taco Maya just set a new standard for me. That samosa taco. Pure genius, Who would have thought those flavors would work so perfectly in a taco. My wife tried the paneer taco and loved hers too, which is always a good sign. We also swung by the salsa bar, which was super clean and had a great selection to customize our tacos. My favorite the jalapeno salsa. We also shared an order of Nachos Supreme, piled high with steak, and they were really good overall. If I had one tiny suggestion, it would be to add a little more refried beans and queso, but that's just a personal preference. The only slight disappointment was the guacamole it tasted a little flat and was a bit on the darker side, so it could use a brighter, fresher note. honestly, those tacos and Nagesh's service made our night. We absolutely loved everything else and are already planning our next trip back. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, they've got tequila drinks and beer buckets too if you're looking for a little something extra and there's music and tv's to watch while you wait.

Always love coming here for shrimp tacos. Their sreak tacos isnt bad either. I love some branches because their horchata is unlimited and beside the soda but i think you just need to ask the staff for refills and the give it to you. The Maya Salad isnt really our thing although im not sure if it would have been betger with protien in it. Its casual fun place to hang out in. Will definitely be coming back! Happy eating!

Taco Maya had some delicious tacos that were very filling. We got some steak tacos and some shrimp tacos with corn tortillas and they did not disappoint. You can get American style or Mexican style tacos. They even got a salsa bar where you have different options for the type of salsa you like. My favorite is Jalapeño Hot has really good flavor. You also get chips and salsa if you dine in! They had alot of seating even a party room for bigger groups. Place was nice to hangout but just a few tables that could've been clean but nothing to bad. A little more pricey then your normal taco spot but i think its worth it. Also the Horchata was good and even better you get free Refills! Which you normally don't get for horchata, they also serve beer and coke in the bottle! Will be returning

First time, trying out Taco Maya. I didn't realize it's a chain with many locations in Illinois. I would give this location a 4.5. Place was clean. Plenty of tables to sit and eat. Sauce bar. Service was good, it did not take them long to get your food to you if you are dining in. Prices range from cheap to slightly expensive for a taco. I like to try the speciality ones, so if the price matches the quality then I'm okay with that. They give you free chips and salsa while waiting. Chips are very good, not overly salty. I ordered the signature taco, dorado taco, chicken tinga taco, elotes, rice, and horchata. Signature 5/5 - very flavorful. Everything pairs well. Dorado 5/5 - fish was moist and i love that Chipotle Mayo that goes with it. Chicken tinga 5/5 - generous amount of meat and it wasn't dry. Rice 1/5 - i love Mexican rice but i would prefer it to be without the peas. Peas kind of ruined the taste for me. Elotes 5/5 - it has a little kick to it. Horchata 5/5 - one of the best ones I've had here. Good amount of cinnamon. Taco salad 5/5 was big and you get a large amount for the price.

First time here. Wife and I stopped in on a Monday afternoon. Wife got chicken tacos, I got a chicken tamale, & we got elotes to share. All the food was good. Wife isn't used to the onions being cooked, but she liked it. Elotes was very food. Tamale was fine. They have a bunch of sauce options as well! Some very hot (which I like)! Service was alright. Nothing special or great to point out. Was a bit weird that all our food came at different times, so we ate separately. Overall it was good.

Really enjoyed my meal at this place this is a sit down place no need to tip. they even have a private room too if someone wants to come with a big group of folks. the tacos were amazing. I got chicken and veggie tacos on white tortilla all were delicious. i also enjoyed the free chips and salsa very tasty. Def I highly recommend coming here even if u order to go and don't decide to stay. the location also is easy to get in and out and plenty of parking in the Plaza.

This is meant to be your crazy expensive birthday bash or celebration, not an every day place. We are lucky to have a gem like this in Schaumburg with very busy servers who try their absolute best to give you a flashy service with delicious food. Are you seriously expecting this to be $50 meal for four? No way. There are many places you can get the same thing. Every time I've gone here, I've spent good money that I worked hard for, and have had great memories in the process. If you're expecting a simple Mexican restaurant, this is not your place. This is high end and very busy. Make a reservation, call in advance to make sure it's set. OpenTable is used by many restaurants, so you can't blame this restaurant for OpenTable's mistakes. The Los Tres Huastecos was PHENOMENAL. The Camarones Calavera was really fun to watch, experience, and eat. I don't drink, but my family loved their flashy drinks (the Deseo was their favorite). They made sure my father felt special on his birthday with a sash, a custom menu (which we requested for in advance with our reservation), and most servers took a moment to say happy birthday even when they weren't serving our table!! Chris was a fantastic server who despite being very busy, did a wonderful job with his service. I won't defend a place for no reason; I truly had a wonderful time that deserves its praise. I research everywhere I go, so obviously when my paycheck hasn't cleared, I'm not going here. But you also wouldn't go to Fogo De Chao or Hell's Kitchen and expect it to be as cheap as my burger at a Chili's (which I love as well). (Also for the comments about the guac, I do agree, but I've also seen the same size portion at other chains for the same price. *cough* south of the boarder *cough*)

They offer these fun drink packages with sparklers and a whole crew coming out to hype you up--it's honestly such a cool touch and makes the night feel extra special. Just a heads up, it does get pretty loud--but in a good way. The music, energy, and overall vibe really bring the place to life, so if you're into that lively atmosphere, you'll love it. We went all in and ordered one of the giant shareable drinks for our group of six. It was definitely worth it for the experience, though a bit light on alcohol given the size. Pro tip: order a round of shots too--they serve them in this awesome airplane presentation, which just adds to the fun. Food-wise, everything was really solid. The octopus was a standout--perfectly cooked and super flavorful. The only letdown was the salmon; the portion felt a bit small for an entrée. Overall, great vibes, fun presentation, and a perfect place to celebrate with a group. Would definitely go back for another occasion.

We stood at the door for about 20 minutes before someone finally told us the wait would be 1-2 hours. Keep in mind, the place is pretty small and already crowded, so there's barely any room to stand while you wait. After getting on the waitlist, we decided to go to a nearby spot for food--but not even 5 minutes later, we got called back saying our table was ready. When we returned, we were seated along the wall in a very tight space--so tight that if I stretched my arm out, I would've hit the person next to me. We noticed a large table nearby had been sitting for a while without food. When their food finally came out, it made us realize our wait would probably be even longer. After another 20 minutes passed and we still hadn't been able to order, we decided to leave. I'm not sure the space is fully ready for the rush right now--it feels overcrowded and service is slow. I'll give it another try once the hype dies down. I'm happy for their success, though--just be prepared to be patient when you go.
