Quick service and filling dishes. I liked the option of having agua Fresca in addition to soda. You can order at the counter or at a kiosk so it's very convenient. Street corn was just okay, I don't think I'd order it again but I did enjoy the taco with cheese curds!

This place has been on my radar never since I heard it was operated by the owners of My Cocina Grill. Located in a busy shopping center at Higgins and Route 59,they serve Scratch Made Tacos with good flavors. As you enter, you can order off the kiosks or by scanning their QR code. There is someone to ask questions or to assist you with your order. The food is brought out to you and they have self serve beverages and 2 different salsa for you too try. We split the Taco Meal that came with 3 tacos of your choice,a side and a drink. We tried the Spicy Clicker with fire garlic salsa which had quite the kick! Also had the Dalai Lama with chopped sirloin and chorizo and Catch Me If You Can - grilled mahi tossed in Adobo sauce. Everything was flavorful and fresh. Portions are good and prices are average. We will definitely be back to try more of their various in tacos and bowls.

I was honestly skeptical about this place because of the name, but you know what they say, don't judge a book by its cover. Taco Llamas surprised me in the best way. They have so many creative taco options, from more authentic Latino-style tacos to ones that feel a bit more American for different tastes. The salsas were packed with flavor, the aguas frescas were delicious, and the staff were super friendly. The tacos are a little pricey, but they're filling and worth it, especially for the area. The decor was really nice too, and overall it's a spot I'd definitely come back to.

Came here to enjoy delicious food, fast, friendly service and easy tech ordering. My second visit to Taco Llamas and I swear it tastes even better than my last visit. I ordered a shrimp Diablo bowl (minus the diablo) and a chicken adobo bowl for the hubby. Both were filled with a generous helping of rice, beans and protein, and more. I counted at least six shrimp in my bowl. And the ceviche? Oh my goodness, the ceviche is so tasty and fresh with the crisp tortilla chips. If you like the food and drink at My Cocina in Streamwood, you're sure to love Taco Llamas. (Same great owner). I cannot wait to try other menu items on my next visit. The decor inside is colorful and fun too. Thank you Taco Llamas, for coming to Hoffman Estates!

First I want to say the staff is so friendly and helpful, the restaurant is nicely decorated and so clean. I love the llama incorporated into the brand. I gave them a 3 for the food, but service and ambiance are fantastic. Drinks: horchata and juices are delicious Sauces: tasty, light, and love the spice Burrito: this was really good Bowl: the shrimp for me was overdone, the rice quinoa mix a bit soggy and a bit too salty for my palette. Kids box: the ground beef was really dark almost like it was burned and overseasoned. Churro fries are okay, they were a bit too greasy. Tacos: fish taco was dry, the birria was quite salty. Overall some items were good but other items didn't do it for me personally. It's their first week and maybe they were still sorting things out, so I'd go back and try it again.

New fast casual Mexican alert in the Hoffman Estates area! Located in the Poplar Prairie Stone Crossing center, I was excited to visit Taco Lamas after seeing another Yelper visit. The menu offers a variety of tacos, bowls, sides, drinks, and more. One orders at the kiosk, pays, then patiently waits for food to be ready. They offer (2) free sauces- fire garlic sauce & avocado crema salsa. I ordered the burrito with ground beef which was a good portion but didn't taste greasy like some fast casual spots. I had wished there was more sour cream or a thicker sauce to pair better with it. My fiancé ordered the three taco dinner which also came with a side choice and medium drink. I tried a sip of his horchata which leaned on the sweet side over spiced side. The Elote was his side which was a bit heavy on the cheese. He really enjoyed his three tacos! His favorite was the Spicy Clucker but Quesabirria and Dalai Lama were close behind. The only draw back was some tacos are a premium charge on top of the $16 meal cost. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Taco Lamas! They can work on creating more signature flavors for items outside of their tacos. Either way, food tasted fresh and not greasy/heavy.

I love Mi Cocina so I was excited to try their new taco spot. Stopped in during the soft open. It was a little busy for not even being officially open yet! We both ordered two taco combos. He got gringos with rice & beans. I got one bacon wrapped jalapeno popper and one shrimp diablo with elote. We both had a margarita. The food came out quick! The presentation was great! I didn't get a bite of the gringos because they disappeared! I loved both of mine and I recommend the margaritas (hope they add a happy hour!). Try the salsas! The hot one is actually hot! And the avocado has a nice flavor. It is a really nice looking space and you can order at the counter, the kiosk or from a QR code at your table. Great first visit. I will be back to try more of the menu soon!

Dalia Lama and Carne Asada tacos with a side of Elotes and Horchata drink. *lots of meat*

This is like a fast food Mexican joint. Modern industrial decor. Staffs were very inviting. Pleasantly surprised by how tasty it was. It exceeded my expectations thinking it would probably be similar with tex-mex, but I was wrong. Prices are avg fast food prices. The best part is you get a side of your choice with your meal which usually is separate in other places. Got the Elotes and it was a generous amount. This is definitely going on our after-church lunch rotation!

We stopped for a quick lunch while in the area after reading recommendations from fellow Yelp Elites and finding out that this location is owned by the same people as My Cocina in Streamwood. This one has a more streamlined menu and service is fast food style. You order at the kiosk and the food is brought out to your table. We split the three taco meal, with my husband trying the Spicy Clucker & the Dalai Lamas and I had the Catch Me IF You Can. The tacos are generously stuffed and full of flavor. Beverages and salsas are serve yourself. They do have a kids menu. The interior is exceptionally clean and has two gender neutral bathrooms. I would like to come back to try one of the bowls next time.

Delicious burrito! Though, I did think it was light on the meat. Overall the place is clean, the cook was friendly and it has an upscale feel to the place. There are two kiosks you can place an order but also an area where an employee can take your order too. This was my first time going there so I ordered from the kiosk. I chose dine in but didn't realize if I sat down at a table they would bring the food to me. They have two sauces near the fountain drinks. I only tried one of them and it was delicious. I will definitely be coming back here!

Tried this place during the soft opening. First time was take out and very impressed. We tried the tacos and they were very good. You can pick different proteins for each taco. Also had the nachos and quesadillas and both were delicious. The burrito didn't look any special but it was a good size. Went back again for dine in and food was delicious just like the take out. The taco meal does include a fountain drink and they have horchata, strawberry dragonfruit, and chili mango lime agua fresca as options as well. Loved the horchata! The chili mango lime was also refreshing. Great local spot for dine in or take out!

When I found out that My Cocina had another restaurant, I knew I had to check it out. Greeted as we walked in and have an option to order on a touch screen or with the employee. Food was brought out to us by a very nice lady. They have their famous salsa out to fill your own cup which was my highlight because I could literally drink their green salsa. Horchata and Fresca as drink options which was another huge plus and both delicious. Taco presentation was amazing and flavors were delish. The only reason this wasn't a five star review is that some of the meat was fatty and grisly. Very friendly staff. Overall I can't wait to come back!

Best tacos we've had in Chicagoland. We had the Dalai Lama, Low and Slow, Carne Asada, and Catch Me If You Can. Salsas were a perfect blend of spice and flavor.

When we arrived, there was one other couple at a table. Other than the staff, no one else was there. We were seated and given menus right away. Our server took our drink order and we asked for an order of guacamole. He brought our drinks along with a basket of chips and salsa quickly. We ordered our meals - a two tostada dinner and a three taco dinner when he served the guacamole. The chips and salsa were good, but I like my salsa a bit spicier so asked if they had any. He brought two bottles of homemade salsa, one green and one red. The guacamole was over $10 and was small. Strangely, it had somewhat of a sweet taste to it and wasn't what we expected. Our meals came out about ten minutes later. The presentation was nice, as you will see in my pictures. The food was okay - not spectacular. We had expected better. The Carne Asada in the tacos was actually very good. The Al Pastor was just okay. On the Tostadas we had Al Pastor, too, and one was guacamole which I've already described. We skipped desert. Although we weren't thrilled with the food, the portions were large and we were both very full when we finished. The service could have been better, especially since there were only two tables filled. After the food was served, we didn't see our server again. We waited for the check and finally had to get up to find them and ask for it. It is possible that there were only two people working. We didn't see any other employees so it may be the servers were also bartending and cooking, which could explain the service we experienced. Both of those we saw were very nice and pleasant, just not as present as we expected.
