    Enchiladas with Poblano Mole
    Miranda L.

Came out to My Cocina as a group of four on a Friday evening. We made a reservation ahead of time but the restaurant did not fully fill. The inside had a good amount of seating, a full bar, simple decor. Our server was bright and cheery when greeting us! He did an amazing job of giving our group space to talk but also check-in to ensure we were taken care of. Our group started with a round of drinks that included a variety of margaritas. The server was great about asking what rim types we wanted: salt, sugar, tajin. The Friday special was $5 off a margarita tower. When I asked how many margaritas fit in the tower, it was a mixed response of 4 or 5. We saw other tables with these and it looked to be all ice. The pricing didn't make sense to buy if only four are included. When it came to entrees, our group ordered the taco salad, steak tacos, chicken mole, and enchiladas with poblano mole. The taco salad was good but meat was a bit dry and lettuce tasted like bag lettuce. The chicken mole came out as full chicken wings with bones included which was not expected. The Poblano Mole was on both mole dishes and had a good heat to it. Overall the food was good but nothing that blew us away. Lastly, there must have been a mix up with our orders being entered. When ordering the taco salad, our server said "fajita bowl" which i corrected him. (2) fajita salads came out of the kitchen with our food which we sent back. They also still appeared on our bill. We had to ask for these to be removed before we payed which was a tad frustrating. By the end, we had (3) servers help our table which also didn't help with the confusion.

We just love this place! Went on a Monday night for my birthday. It was not crowded at all. On Mondays they offer half off margaritas . My wife tried their Spring Special Rhubarb Strawberry which she loved. I had a Pacific on draft. Prices are very reasonable. They start you with chips and 2 types of salsa. One hot and one mild. We love their homemade shrimp ceviche. Portion is enough to share and very fresh and flavorful. I received an BOGO email on their Spring Menu so my wife had the Mahi Pescadillas (GF) and I had the Maestro Fish plate that came with garlic grilled shrimp, mahi mahi, grilled asparagus over poblano mashed potatoes. Everything was sauced with a Creole Shrimp sauce. Huge portions and extra flavorful. Our server Orlando was so nice that when he heard it was birthday he brought out a special birthday dessert. This is a true gem located in a strip center on Route 59. Plenty of parking. They also have their Daily Specials listed online. Please support this business!

Our waiter was enthusiastic and fun. The food was on the higher price end but excellent. You do get what you pay for. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. The dimmed light ambiance was warming. I recommend that spicy margarita.

I have often passed this place in the strip mall at 59 and Schaumburg roads, but I'm so glad I finally stopped in. They have specials every day, and today is $5 Mojitos, in several flavors. I tried the watermelon, and it was refreshing, not too sweet. The Huarache with Shrimp Diablo was tasty and had just the right amount of spice for me. I did ask our wonderful server, Juan, for it to be less spicy, though. Great chips and guacamole. The service, drinks, atmosphere, and wide menu variety make this a great little restaurant. I'll be trying as many menu items (within my spice range, of course) as I can!

As usual the service and food were fantastic! If you go at night make a rsvp as they get busy

We've ate here multiple times now and the food, service, and ambiance are all amazing! Servers are very nice and laugh with everyone, food is flavorful with Mexican spices -- even their vegan dishes!, I was also pleasantly surprised with how smart and tasty their margaritas are. Besides the delicious flautas I tried their taco dinner (with handmade tortillas): 1 carnitas, 1 mahi mahi, 1 vegan steak. Husband always orders their wings which are the crispiest wings EVER. Plus the banana bread pudding with ice cream -- delicious! We would also recommend their churros .

The hibiscus lime margarita! So beautiful!

As a whole food, plant based nutritionist I was SOOO impressed the vegan menu! Not only was it vegan but it was clean (not oily)- the chips were next level- you can really tell that they have food integrity! Also... the handcrafted margaritas! Not only am I a self proclaimed food snob- but I am also a tequila/ margarita snob! And let me just say, we live almost an hour away and I'm planning when we can go back and bring friends! Our waiter was so fun and impressed me with the crafting knowledge he had! This type of place is a rare find!

Celebrating John's birthday today Strawberry Rhubarb Margarita and a Pacifico

If you love friendly service, a warm inviting atmosphere that makes you feel good, flavorful Mexican food and creatively crafted cocktails then My Cocina is your place. We came to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our waiter was helpful, efficient, always smiling and didn't rush us. We wanted to try items from their new Spring Happenings menu. We've been here before and we have had several good items from the regular menu which has much to choose from. The spring menu is more limited but features fish items that are unique. Maestro's Fish Platter had mahi mahi and shrimp over poblano pepper mashed potatoes and fresh asparagus spears topped in a Cajun cream sauce. This dish has a kick but in a very good way. The seared mahi Pesca-dillas were paired with melted cheese in corn tortillas (gluten free) and topped with a cilantro lime slaw and pickled red onions. So yummy! My Strawberry Rhubarb Margarita which is also on the spring menu was not overly sweet and was half price on Half price margarita Mondays. The waiters then brought out a desert of churros and sang Happy birthday to my "Uno Juan" which was much appreciated and made our celebration complete.

First time visiting their new location, their old location didn't have a bar but their food has always been great. New location looks awesome and the bar addition as well. Good music playing. Service was great, our waitress was attentive and overall on top of anything we needed. Visited for some 5 de Mayo drinks and food. Their margaritas had all fresh ingredients and you could definitely taste the difference. I had the hibiscus and cucumber lime margarita (photos) so good! The ground beef nacho appetizer was also really good.

Meh. The chicken tinga had a great flavor but was a bit dry, the pastor nothing to write home about. The cocktails were really good and so was the service. .
