This is my 4th review here in 2 1/2 years. Here are some updates 1) they now have Margaritas (mango is our fav) 2) A good bottle beer selection 3) a new taco- Ababe with a delicious smoky sauce and radishes 4) Street corn is now standard on menu and it's excellent. 5) Website for ordering takeout is greatly improved. No Service and staff are always outstanding Half of our visits are eat in dining area is always clean and comfortable. read more

I tried this taco place for lunch today. My husband has been here before. It was okay (not amazing, but not bad either). The restaurant is huge, very clean, and well maintained. The service was great too. However, they forgot to give us the chips today. We had to ask for them, whereas last time they brought the chips to open without asking. I ordered the steak and shrimp and specifically asked for the steak medium rare, but it came out well done. I guess the tacos were actually quite good because my husband finished everything on his plate! read more

Been a while since my last Yelp review, but Cielo got me. Tried some of their "best sellers" and was not disappointed. Breaded beef torta - top tier. I can't think of a better torta in the burbs even with the bread being average for my rankings. Very filling and awesome sandwich balance. Helps stomach the $14 price point. Taco Arabe - where were you all my life? Normally I wouldn't care for the side dipping Chipotle sauce, but dang, just dangity fire. I'm going to end up trying this at all the other places where I see it now. Green sauce - top tier Red sauce - not my thang, so not going to judge. No napkins in my takeout...only ding. They are generous with sauces. read more

Best Mexican food in the area! If you eat-in or take out the food, it is delicious!

Stopped here in between my kids soccer games close by. We wanted some authentic Mexican food & they did not disappoint! The staff were very welcoming and the service was great. We were greeted right away and our waiter was very attentive throughout our meal. The food was very good and the portion sizes were great! Out of everything we ordered the steak quesadillas were my favorite. The facility was very clean and they had a wide selection of food on their menu. The waiter we had asked us if we wanted any salsa with our food- we said yes (of course) and when we got the bill we noticed they charged us $5 for the side side of salsa without any mention of that up front That would have to be my only complaint though- everything else was great- food, service, location & ambiance read more

The best tacos in Schaumburg, the northern suburbs and some of the best I've ever had. The gentleman at the counter recommended the Arabe taco. It was amazing. The sauce was delicious, a nice smoky chili flavor. The Al Pastor and the Steak tacos were also perfect. I will be back for sure. read more

We got hungry and craving for Mexican food and we found this place on Yelp with promising reviews. The reviews were totally on time! There used to be a few cemita places in the city but all got shut down. I'm glad to find another one in Schaumburg. Service was amazing and attentive and it's very comfortable inside. It's definitely a hidden gem. We'll be back and will bring our family next time! read more

*** Carry out review *** Oh wowww the tacos from here are sooo good! I ordered via their website for pick up and the process was easy and straight forward. I was then provided an estimated ready time. The time they provided was accurate and my food was ready to be devoured once I got to the restaurant! I tried the chicken, Al pastor and steak tacos with cilantro, onion and lime. If you're looking for the more Americanized option (lettuce, tomato, cheese) there is an upgrade for that. My favorite was the steak - it's marinated well and very flavorful. The al pastor was also very delicious. Both of em were cooked perfectly, very juicy and delicious! I didn't love the chicken and will pass on them next time. I thought it was on the dry side. Cielo is my new favorite taco spot in this area, 5 stars all the way! read more

The food here is excellent, breakfast and lunch. This is our new go to for Mexican food. They have beer and cocktails, which is a bonus. They could use some help with the cocktails. We tried a mimosa one time for breakfast and it was more like a tequila sunrise. Then for dinner we had a margarita and it was very sweet. Fresh juices and good tequila would make a huge difference instead of mixes. Service is always good. Ambiance is welcoming. I recommend this place. read more

My wife an I gave this place a try the other day and can honestly say this is some of the best Mexican food around. We both love to cook and have high expectations when eating out. From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted and sat with a smile. The place was very clean, even the bathrooms. The chef was dressed in a traditional white chef's outfit and personally delivered each meal to the table making sure each guest has everything they needed before digging in. I had the shrimp tacos that were perfectly seasoned and seared to perfection. My wife had a steak, shrimp and pork taco. All fantastic. Even the salsa was good. The only negative comment I can come up with is the chips did not seam homemade and seamed like they were out of a bag. Overall it was a great experience and we have already been back again! Highly recommend! read more

You can seat yourself to any empty table that is available. My friend and I ordered 3 tacos each. I got the Mexican style with no cilantro (steak, pork, and shrimp) and my friend got American style (steak, shrimp, and chorizo). The tacos were fulfilling and delicious. I personally liked the shrimp and my friend liked the chorizo the best. If you live closed by or in the neighborhood, good place to grab some Mexican food. read more

wonderful, little Mexican place, to grab a burrito, or tacos Great food, friendly people I also especially love, their avocado chicken sandwich. Was surprised to see that on the menu, decided to give it a try, it was really really good. I have to say when I'm in the mood for a good grilled chicken sandwich, I actually go here. I also really enjoy their steak burrito, very tasty good flavor, good cheese, good meat. The only reason I don't give it five stars, is cause the burrito is a little greasy, there's grease dripping out of it when you eat it some people like it that way, me personally that bothers me The burritos are actually better when you reheat them, because then it cooks the extra grease out, and it actually tastes better the second time around. either way, when I'm in the mood for a burrito, or chicken sandwich, this is my go to in this area read more

We have a new favorite Mexican restaurant! Amazing, authentic, Mexican food, great service, nice family restaurant. I'm a huge mole fan, and the homemade mole is superb. My boyfriend loves chorizo, and the chorizo is also fantastic. Their homemade flan and churros are also fabulous. We've already gone back once, and we'll DEFINITELY be back again!!! read more

Located at a strip mall near downtown Schaumburg, this Mexican restaurant seems recently built (or is it?). The interior seems more modern than typical Mexican restaurants. Their complimentary chips came with spicy salsa sauce which was really nice. We tried their chicken quesadillas which had lots of flavors and came with a good portion of veggies, avocado and sour cream. The downside was the chicken was kinda hard...We also ordered their shrimp burrito. They didn't skim on shrimps, however, the ingredients were not spread eventually so my half had a ton of cheese but no beans and shrimps... Service was quick and attentive. Price was low (for today's economy). read more

You don't have to go to Mexico for authentic Mexican food. Save your air fare and just start here! Located in a modest strip mall but next to a Polish Deli, this place is well worth the effort. You will be greeted warmly by today's host(ess) and led to your linen tablecloth clad table. (when we come they would be wise to substitute paper) The menu is graced with authentic Mexican fare that is freshly made and served hot. We have had their burritos, taco platter and the to die for corn soup. Too much--ask for half servings. The margaritas despite being "machine made" are served in a larger than life glass--rimed with salt. The chips and the dipping salsa are fantastic. They buy the chips and cook them on premises and are served warm. Ask for an order to take home, you will not regret it. If you like extra spice, ask your server. They will be happy to "customize" your order. See...you saved the airfare and got margaritas and great food. read more

Went here on a random Thursday night with friends. Greeted and sat promptly. Very simple restaurant but felt homey. We had fajitas and enchiladas. Both were done well and served quickly. The only drawback is they are limited on alcoholic drinks. Beer and canned margaritas. But don't let that stop you from going here. The food was great. read more

Cielo had very good food and service. My wife and I were surprised with how great the chips, salsa and guacamole were to begin our meal. The guacamole tasted very fresh. The burrito was a nice sized burrito. I enjoyed the flavors of this burrito but wish I would have ordered steak instead of chicken. My wife's steak burrito had better flavor than the chicken burrito. I will definitely return for more food from Cielo. read more

Started out with homemade chips and salsa. The salsa is divine! A little smokey with a kick. Avocado chicken breast wrap is delicious. The service is very kind, friendly. On a Sunday afternoon we were looking for Mexican food and found this on Yelp. When we walked in we were the only ones in the restaurant, but it did start filling up shortly after our arrival. We were immediately greeted, offered a table and provided with salsa and chips. The salsa was a bit too spicy for me. I had a burrito and it was so large,I could barely eat half of it. It was filled with pork, beans and rice. My husband had carne asada and shrimp tacos. The portions were very generous. Neither entrée came with sides, but they were not really needed. Overall, very good. read more

Very good. Hot fresh authentic and affordable. Clean restaurant too! Highly recommend

While this place has a very good menu and great variety. It's hit and miss on some items. I loved their quesadillas and was excited to go back to try 2 other items for carryout. Sadly I was very disappointed. I write very credible reviews to help people make choices. Unfortunately, I have to update and take stars away. While they are using all fresh produce and bread items, the meat on both of the sandwiches was not that great (breaded chicken cermita, Milanese Beef torta). When ordering, I asked if they used real chicken breast on the cemita which the girl advised they did. Sorely the chicken was more of a super very thin processed pressed meat piece. I didn't even taste chicken. The rest of everything on the sandwiches was very good. Basically it tasted better without the meat! After 1 bite, I threw the entire sandwich away. They need to significantly improve the chicken used in the sandwiches. Chicken should look and taste like a breast not look like a super thin light yellow pressed object. read more
