Soooo good. I came in cold, knowing nothing about this business. I told them that it was my first time visiting. As a gift, I was freely given a large cinnamon milk drink and a free chip and salsa. The salsa was sooo good. I'm pretty sure the hot sauce for the food is also made fresh! Great service! My burrito was PACKED with ground beef. It was sooooo good! My entire family loved it! Can't wait to go back! read more

Checked out this casual Mexican restaurant in Hoffman Estates. David's Burrito Express has fairly authentic flavor. It certainly isn't anything fancy and is bare bones to be honest. A lot of variety on the menu to look at. There's meaty as well as stuff for vegetarians and more than just burritos, such as tacos. Basic looking place on the inside. It's got a counter where you can make to go orders. There's also plenty of tables. At lunch it wasn't crowded. That could have been a bad sign. Instead we chose to eat inside. There's a pretty big menu. It's about $12 for the Vegetarian Burrito. This comes with cheese which I left off, along with lettuce, onions, rice, and tomatoes. A big one to be certain. This was hard to get it all finished. For sure we could go here again. It's located on Roselle at Higgins. They have options for meat eaters and vegetarians. read more

Great Mexican food made to order. Nothing fancy, just a traditional "taco joint". A go to for good Mexican food.

Ordered a steak burrito. It was 60% t0 70% rice. This was the burrito cut in half. Rice shouldn't even be in a burrito. Never again. read more

We needed a restaurant close to family for a quick take out lunch and saw this place off of Roselle Road in the Valli's grocery store plaza. Looked up reviews here before stopping in and they looked good so we stopped in. First impressions is it is bigger inside then it looks outside. It was very clean inside. Bathroom decent and clean. The only guy inside was maybe David who is the counter guy, cook, table guy, pretty much everything. Short staff aside I didn't notice any drawbacks because of it. "David" was very nice, took our order quickly and cooked it up quick. After we had placed our order and were about to sit down he asked us if we wanted a free sample while we waited. I was shocked in a very good way! You don't have to ask me twice for free food. He brought two tacos for my partner and I and chips and salsa were included. The chips, salsa, and free tacos were delicious. We took the food home immediately and when we checked it over saw everything was packed very well. Surprisingly so I thought all by the one guy. Food was delicious. I would say better than burrito bowls you can get from Chipotle with fresher ingredients. I would definitely order from this restaurant again and I highly recommend it for tacos and burritos fare. read more

David's Burrito Express - El pastor taco - Mexican Near Me - Hoffman Estates, Illinois

The food is amazing, we got 2 breakfast burritos, as we waited the sweet cashier gave us chips and salsa as we waited. And he also brought out 2 el pastor tacos he wanted to us to "sample" it was not a sample, it was more of a meal. Hands down the service was amazing just for us waiting for our food. Thank you for the hospitality! read more

The food has gone down in quality in late 2024 & 2025. Steak is not the same grad and not as fresh.

David's is our favorite go-to taco place. Great food and friendly service. The Al Pastor is excellent!

David's Burrito Express is a must-visit for anyone craving delicious and authentic food! The flavors are the same as those in Mexico, and they have the best Al Pastor around. Don't miss out on their Taco Tuesday deals - they're only $1.99! The fresh ingredients really make a difference, and the variety on the menu caters to all tastes, whether you're a meat lover or a vegetarian. The service is friendly and efficient, making the dining experience even better. Plus, the atmosphere is casual and welcoming, perfect for a quick bite or for ordering to-go. I highly recommend trying their Al pastor! (Tacos, Burrito, Sopes, Huarache, etc.) - it's truly a game-changer! Five stars all the way! read more

Los mejores burritos del área y un excelente servicio. Caiganle que aquí está lo bueno raza !!!!

I am so disappointed. I have gone to this place many times but I think I have hit my limit. I have been wanting to trying there steak burrito because their steak was pretty good. This was one of the worst burritos I ever had. Especially for $9.80. My steak burrito was more like a microwaved rice and lettuce burrito with a tablespoon of chopped steak. Just terrible. I don't know what is happening with this place. They advertise $1 taco Tuesday but really all the tacos are over $1. On the menu my burrito said it we $7.99 but ended up costing $9.80. They also charge an additional fee if you don't pay in cash. With the tons of competition in the Mexican restaurant sector in the area. David's is doing a bad job of making it to the top. read more

I stopped in there tonight and I had the chicken milenesa torta it was so delicious but let me tell you they offered me to try their Al Pastor tacos. They gave us each two complementary tacos. They were the best tacos I've ever eaten in my life. The Al Pastor was seasoned so amazing., I couldn't finish all of my food so I brought it home and my daughter took a bite and couldn't stop eating it. I've been going there for years since it was the old owners but let me tell you the new owners they made this place something special food is always fresh. They really care about their customers also going above and beyond. You definitely have to try this place if you're looking for authentic Mexican food in Schaumburg /hoffman estates area , they will not disappoint. read more

I went to David Buritto Express with my boy friend and the second best thing about this place is one of the best things about this place and that's David. One of my coworkers swears by David's Burrito Express! I hadn't ever been there before but we popped in on a Tuesday and wouldn't ya know, they had a Taco Tuesday special! $1 each for many types of proteins. I had Chicken, Carne Asada, Al Pastor and Bistec all for just $4! It was so filling, I had to skip the shells after one and just stick to eating the meats. I wouldn't call them the most amazing tacos of my life but they were indeed tasty and I have no qualms at all with them! I'll definitely be back but I'll have a hard time not going on a Tuesday for that amazing special. That doorbell though...it drives me insane. :) read more

Had the huevos rancheros dinner with my wife. Very good flavors. Love the food. Excellent service. Best place for authentic Mexican food in the area. Highly recommend it. read more

So, I ordered tacos pastor, agua de horchata, a green tamale and elotes. The tacos were ok, but definitely could use more spice cuz that's what you expect from a pastor meat. I like the horchata. But that's about it. The tamale was flaky and with almost no filling. Tasted kinda bland too. Such a shame to use canned corn.. so the elotes were not good at all!!! Don't plan to order again. read more

Chips tasted like they were cooked in burnt oil. Also the chicken. No fountain drinks, alcohol, or anything Mexican made. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. read more

Friendly staff and excellent food. Only wish they had more salsas and alcoholic beverages. Perfect for lunch or dinner. They use grilled seasoned chicken breasts where I see most other places using stewed or shredded chicken. They do breakfast items but open at 9AM. Only indoor seating but good lighting and clean. Fountain drinks have free refills. Fair priced. Get the AL Pastor! read more

I frequent this restaurant often for lunch. It's definitely one of the better MEXICAN restaurants in the Schaumburg/Hoffman Estates area. They have $1 tacos on Tuesdays which are delicious. They are just smaller than their regular tacos so beware when ordering them. The food is delicious. I've tried several things here and have always been satisfied. They tend to get pretty busy during lunch time so if you walk in you may not find a place to sit or if you're calling in an order, you may get the busy signal and have to keep dialing. Overall this is a good place to come for lunch or something more relaxed. read more

This place has just opened and I am so happy there is a great taqueria in this area that is predominantly an Asian and Indian restaurant area. The prices are great, the restaurant is roomy and the employees are very friendly! I ordered the steak burrito and man was it good! They also have a great breakfast menu if you are into that. Plus delivery for all of those times your too lazy to go get food. Bonus! read more

I ordered through yelp and the owner called just to confirm the details of my order. He was super nice and helpful. Food was packaged great for carry out. I feel way too generous even giving this place a one star. First off, the corn tortillas are dry. Save your money and time, this place is a joke. I ordered tacos for take out, the salsa verde and red sauce was like dipping a wet finger in a bowl of salt and putting the finger into your mouth. They knew this and served it anyway, but get this, the sauce containers they gave us wasn't even 1/3rd filled. I felt like I was being pranked and John Quiñones was going to pop out.
