We needed a restaurant close to family for a quick take out lunch and saw this place off of Roselle Road in the Valli's grocery store plaza. Looked up reviews here before stopping in and they looked good so we stopped in. First impressions is it is bigger inside then it looks outside.It was very clean inside. Bathroom decent and clean. The only guy inside was maybe David who is the counter guy, cook, table guy, pretty much everything. Short staff aside I didn't notice any drawbacks because of it. "David" was very nice, took our order quickly and cooked it up quick. After we had placed our order and were about to sit down he asked us if we wanted a free sample while we waited. I was shocked in a very good way! You don't have to ask me twice for free food. He brought two tacos for my partner and I and chips and salsa were included. The chips, salsa, and free tacos were delicious. We took the food home immediately and when we checked it over saw everything was packed very well. Surprisingly so I thought all by the one guy. Food was delicious. I would say better than burrito bowls you can get from Chipotle with fresher ingredients. I am so disappointed. I have gone to this place many times but I think I have hit my limit. I have been wanting to trying there steak burrito because their steak was pretty good. This was one of the worst burritos I ever had. Especially for $9.80. My steak burrito was more like a microwaved rice and lettuce burrito with a tablespoon of chopped steak. Just terrible. I don't know what is happening with this place. They advertise $1 taco Tuesday but really all the tacos are over $1. On the menu my burrito said it we $7.99 but ended up costing $9.80. I stopped in there tonight and I had the chicken milenesa torta it was so delicious but let me tell you they offered me to try their Al Pastor tacos. They gave us each two complementary tacos. They were the best tacos I've ever eaten in my life. I hadn't ever been there before but we popped in on a Tuesday and wouldn't ya know, they had a Taco Tuesday special! $1 each for many types of proteins. I had Chicken, Carne Asada, Al Pastor and Bistec all for just $4! It was so filling, I had to skip the shells after one and just stick to eating the meats. I wouldn't call them the most amazing tacos of my life but they were indeed tasty and I have no qualms at all with them! So, I ordered tacos pastor, agua de horchata, a green tamale and elotes. The tacos were ok, but definitely could use more spice cuz that's what you expect from a pastor meat. I like the horchata. I frequent this restaurant often for lunch. It's definitely one of the better MEXICAN restaurants in the Schaumburg/Hoffman Estates area. They have $1 tacos on Tuesdays which are delicious. They are just smaller than their regular tacos so beware when ordering them. The food is delicious. I've tried several things here and have always been satisfied. They tend to get pretty busy during lunch time so if you walk in you may not find a place to sit or if you're calling in an order, you may get the busy signal and have to keep dialing.
