So they have one of those digital LED signs on their window that repeat a message like a stock ticker. The ticker (this was on a Tuesday btw) advertised that it was "Taco Tuesday" and that their tacos were 1.00$ each. Cool! I walk call my order in, and come back in a few mins to go get my order, only for them to tell me that they want 1.25$ per taco. I ordered 6 of them. No, I'm not pissed about the additional 1.50$. Im pissed about their switch & bait tactic that lures customer in for one price, only to tell them that it's another price, when it's time to pay. I asked them about it at the time of purchase and I got some "deer in the headlights" response from some girl who barely spoke English, so I left it alone. But, restaurants don't get how people don't like to be screwed with. I've been going there for over 3 years, twice a month, and now, they won't see me again. So David, enjoy your extra 1.50$. The food is at the lower level of TexMex. Troed it twice, Chimichanga and Enchiladas. Filling is bland. Accompanying lettuce and tomato look like a wilted garnish, rice is just colored with something orange and refried beans are straight out of rhe can. You'll spend half the price and get twice the quality at Taco Bell. read more

Decent standard Mexican food. Was looking forward to trying this place out since it's new and had good reviews so far. Came in for lunch and we ordered a vegetarian burrito and the taco platter with rice and beans. The rice was quite flavorful with a great deep orange color, unfortunately it was a little dry, but no different than the vast majority of Mexican restaurants. The tacos were fine, pretty flavorful and a good enough portion size for a lunch meal. No cheese on the tacos, which I prefer, but it did come with lime and salsa. On the salsa side, the salsa verde was pretty good, but the salsa roja was terribly overpowered with an almost dry chili powder flavor. The meat was well seasoned, but the steak was a little overcooked and chewy, and the chicken was dry. The vegetarian burrito was less well received. My dining partner said that it contained a number of uncooked vegetables, and wasn't particularly tasty. The location itself was pretty nice, clean and a little larger than I expected. The staff was very nice, and I always appreciate when they give you the choice between traditional cilantro and onion or lettuce and tomato. All in all, it's a decent, quick Mexican restaurant. It's not quite as cheap as a few places out by Hanover Park, or as good as some of the less fast-foody places in the area, but it works if you're looking for something close by. read more

I stopped here because I was in the neighborhood and I'm on a quest to try every Taqueria in America... It's Tuesday. They have a $1 taco special. When I order, I'm told the tacos for the special are half the size of the regular tacos (rendering the $1 taco special not very special). I ordered 4 steak tacos. The complimentary chips and salsa were good. First bite of a taco was un-chewable grisly steak. I spit it out and go for another bite thinking hey, it can happen. It happened a lot. I left 2 and a half tacos untouched and went down the street to get a burger. Very disappointing. read more

I visited David's for the first time two days ago and was pleasantly surprised at the many items on the menu. Everything there is homemade, including the ceviche and shrimp cocktails (Mexican style), according to the man I spoke to. I had a chicken huarache that was very good, as were the chips and salsa. I love Mexican food but I don't like heat, so I was very happy that the salsa was quite mild. I wasn't hungry enough to try anything else, but I'll go back soon. read more

SCAMMERS BUT DECENT FOOD This place has decent food. I ordered a steak taco, pastor tostada, rice, beans, chips and guacamole. It was ok, nothing spectacular. Good flavors in all the food except, the Marinated Pork ( Pastor). It had a blend taste. My order also came with side of red and green salsa. The salsa was your typical salsa taste, just like every other taco place. It is authentic food but nothing to rave about! THE SCAM: I placed my food order online. Total came out to be $40.10 I decided to pay cash at the restaurant. When I picked up the food I was giving a different total of $40.84 difference of 75 cents. I didn't mention anything figured 75 cents no biggy whatever! But then I said I'm going to pay with a debit card and out came another different total of $41.26 . At this point I asked the lady at the register why am I paying that much more now. She replied service charge added. Keep in mind she swiped my debit card before advising and there are no posted signs at the register. I walked away and told her you need to mention it or have a sign posted. SO WATCH OUT for over charges.And if you use your debit card there is a service charge . SCAM BAM THANK YOU MAM. I ordered a burrito meal. The chorizo in my burrito was burnt the WHOLE WAY! Horrible. I had to eating crunchy chorizo. The rice and beans that came in the side were nothing amazing. Went in for a chicken burrito today. I ordered it without lettuce or tomato since I'm not big on veggies. The chicken never even made it onto the grill. It was simmering in a pot with little piece of celery mixed in with it. Thus when he dumped it onto my tortilla, it was soggy from the excess water. I like my burrito meat seared on the grill. I can't speak for the tacos here, but for $7.50 after tax, that was probably the smallest chicken burrito I've ever had. I appreciate the sliced chicken rather than soggy pulled pollo, but there isn't enough of it. I normally go through 2 or 3 salsas when I get a burrito at Los Laureles or any of my Chicago spots. I seriously love this place! The chile rellenos are by far my favorite, and you can't go wrong with their giant and fresh burritos. I have ventured into trying some of the shrimp dishes...so far, all of them are great! And you won't find better refried beans anywhere around here. There are several Mexican restaurants right by me, but I make the drive out to this place when I want Mexican food. It is worth driving a few extra minutes for. What a great place. Very nice owners, only concerned about high quality and great food. They are using skirt steak ( yes, over 6 dollars a pound) for tacos, not garbage trimmings or scrap diced up like most restaurants, so if you think portions are small, remember the high qualtity you are eating.Come and check this place out, the al pastor tacos are wonderful. The slowest service in the Northwest Suburbs, to wait for mediocre food. I have visited this establishment twice. Both times I waited 15-20 minutes just to reach the counter to place an order. You then wait a half hour to get three tacos. They have one employee who works the counter, taking orders, delivering the take-out orders, waiting tables, making drinks. And evidently there is only one cook judging by the time it takes to get your food and because when I tried to order hard-shell tacos I was told, "It's kind of hard for us to make hard-shell tacos right now, unless you want to wait." When I asked how long the wait was because I already waited 15 minutes just to reach the counter, I was told, "I don't know, there are three orders ahead of you." I informed the not-so-friendly counter girl that I did not want to wait. I will never darken the doorstep of this disorganized, lousy service, unfriendly establishment ever again. If you're in a hurry or really hungry, stay away. You're better off going to Taco Bell where you can place an order, get your food, eat it and be out in less than a half hour. read more

I liked this place, they have breakfast burritos which I really like. And they will modify your order without any problems if you ask. When I first started visiting this place everyone was so attentive to the customers needs/requests. Seems like they were so eager to please everyone. I even gave them 5 stars. But during the last few months customer service has declined dramatically. Eating in is ridiculous. You seat yourself & wait for what seems like an eternity for someone to even acknowledge that you're there. They are too busy taking phone orders & handling pick up orders. At one point I was so aggravated that we weren't being taken care of that I actually called their phone to place our order. We had been sitting at the table for 10 minutes & no one even came out. It makes me feel like now that you've established your business, you don't feel the need to treat customers the way you did in the beginning. It's a shame because we highly recommended your business to so many people. I've been telling my husband that we won't be going here anymore because the wait time drove me up the walls & yesterday was the last straw. After coming out of work exhausted my husband wanted something quick. So Taco Tuesday was the plan. I drove there on my way home & ordered steak tacos with cilantro & onions only & a side of beans to go. Woman taking my order repeated the correct order. Got my order & went home. Opened the container and the tacos just had steak on them...no cilantro, no onions, they were bare. Checked the plastic bag thinking for some odd reason the cilantro & onion were packed separately, but didn't find anything. Normally I check my orders before leaving, but like I said, I was exhausted & just trying to get home. I was so angry. I called & spoke to the same woman that took my order & explained the situation. She knew who I was & what I ordered. She put me on hold. When she got back on the phone, I was told that the cook said he had put the cilantro & onion on the tacos. She told me that all they could do was have me pick up some cilantro & onion. I asked her if she wanted me to send her a picture because somebody is lying! I told her I'm too tired from work & am not driving all the way back there to pick up cilantro & onion. Again, she repeated "That's all we can do." I hung up the phone even more frustrated. You have lost good customers. We have learned our lesson & won't be going back. Best believe we will be warning our friends. You could have offered a credit or something instead of saying that's all you could do. Horrible business. Pathetic. read more

Decided to stop in here one afternoon, a couple months ago. They had a daily special of a torta. I noticed the price and description. The sign read, "giant torta - $9.99". I figured for that price a drink or beans&rice would be included? Or at least a really good sized torta! I walked up to the counter and placed my order for the torta special, along with a drink. My total was $11-something, so that answered my question about the drink being included. I sat down and waited for my food. Meanwhile, a group of Hispanic men came in and sat down. They were brought menus, soup, and chips/salsa. The woman at the counter took their order and brought their food out fairly quickly. I waited a little longer, figuring my food would be brought to me as well. The cook finally finished my sandwich and just yelled for me to pick it up at the counter. He just waived the plate and yelled, "Hey! Hey! Torta!" Finally i looked over at him and picked up my order. That gave me the impression i had to be Hispanic to be treated well....ugh. The sandwich was normal sized and no beans&rice were included. It tasted pretty good, but not $10 good. I did get chips and salsa, at least. That's pretty standard at Mexican restaurants, so that didn't impress me. I don't think I'll be going back to this place, sorry. read more
