What a hidden gem in an unassuming strip mall! We'd been wanting to visit here for a while, and finally made the trip after a long Saturday out and about. It was empty when it arrived, but filled up on our way out, telling me it's a popular place for the younger crowd. Either way, you know you're in for a good meal when you see the huge doner rotisserie spinning. The owner (at least I'm pretty sure he was the owner) helpfully walked us through their sauce selection and even offered my MIL some sauce samples. She ended up getting the hot dog with veggies, while my wife and I got sandwich combos (17 for the sandwich + 3.50 for fries and a drink). I was going to share my combo with my preschooler since they don't have a kids meal, but the owner thoughtfully offered some fries with chicken for him. We definitely had to tip well for such nice service. So this is no ordinary sandwich, and the pictures don't do it justice. In pics it looks kind of like a pita pocket, but this thing has some HEFT. Filled with veggies, meat, and sauce, it got a little messy but was really tasty. The veggies were fresh, and it's hard to top meat sliced right off the log. My MIL said her unique hot dog was good as well. To me it looked like a Chicago dog from another dimension, but I also want to give it a try next time. Protip: Ask for your sauces on the side. They're almost too generous with it on the sandwich so it's nice to have a little more control with it. This will definitely enter the rotation and will be letting our friends know as well. I just know that Berliner will always deliver and always meet your expectations. Twas a semi-late night drive home, and I couldn't tell if I was hearing the growl of my 3.6l V6 or my kegger of a tummy. It could have been both. We passed by many little holes in the walls on Barrington Rd, but we just didn't trust them because they were empty. Berliner Kebap was full and lively. I know this isn't what most people think about, but it is a good feeling to know that the food is moving. It means you're being given fresh food that hasn't been sitting around. I love the simplicity of the menu. Platters, wraps, and sandwiches are genenerous and comfort foody, in the best way possible. Of course it is all about the sauces. I want to scubadive in that garlic sauce. I could put it on everything! The herb sauce and spicy sauce are also pretty awesome. Make your food a meal. You'll get fresh hot fries and a drink. Platters will have a nice salad. It is important to mention that everyone behind the counter is so helpful and as nice as can be. What is a kebap? Best way to describe it imho, is a beef or chicken (or mix) gyro with more veggies, and different pita type bread. Amazing... and a ton of food. Great sauces. Make sure to grab a geometric ton of napkins and a fork. read more

I need more people to know about this place so it can stay open forever. Berliner kebap is one of the spots I frequent. Its one of the only foods my husband will eat. He only likes about 3 restaurants and this is one of them. I grew up in Germany and the doner is more Berlin style than where im from but it still hits certain levels of nostalgia, everything from the bread to the meat are fresh and homemade tasting. They give you so much meat and fill the doner to the brim. The owners are so lovely and personable and kind. Such a wonderful couple of people. read more

My friend found this restaurant on TikTok and we decided to try it. I cannot stress how happy I am that we did. I had the Kebap sandwich with a mix of chicken and beef. We had asked the staff what they recommended for someone who had never been here. The bread was insanely delicious and homemade. The meat was tender and flavorful. Veggies crisp and fresh. Unique food. I had the french hotdogs, each with different mayo based sauces. I love the concept of a baguette filled with sauce then a hotdog stuffed inside. I wish the hotdog was better quality since it didn't have much flavor. I also tried the sandwich filled with meat, both chicken and beef. The concept is like a gyro but tastes nothing like one. The veggies were super fresh and crispy. The people behind the counter were friendly and the place was clean. It's small inside so if it's busy you might not find a table. The menu is limited to 3 items but the options for what to put inside the sandwiches are endless. The only reason I gave 4 stars was for the bland hotdogs. read more

I mean no offense, but I was expecting less I was wrong! I've had a couple of plates at this point. They include a salad , meat (chicken and/or beef ) and fries . All in generous portions. They also have three different flavors of garlic sauces (plain garlic, herb, and spicy). They are all delicious. Nice family owned kebab quick service restaurant in a strip mall in Streamwood. They serve Berlin (German) style doner kebabs, thin sliced beef or chicken cooked on a spit like gyro or shwarma. You can get them as a sandwich, wrap or platter. We got the platter which comes with your choice of chicken or beef (or both), salad, fries, sauce and a drink. The sauces are very creamy and come in 3 flavors: spicy, herb or garlic. Food was hot and fresh, large portion and the meat, fries, salad and all the sauces were delicious. We went to Wing Stop and this place was 2 doors down. The pictures of the food in the window were so enticing that even though I wasn't particularly hungry, I ran in to grab a menu. When I showed my wife, we had to get a sample. We ordered the kebap sandwich, with chicken and beef, and the garlic sauce. It comes on this kind of seeded bread pocket that resembles a pita and included tomato, cucumber, red onion, some kind of pickled slaw. We also ordered a plain french hot dog. The baguette around the hot dog was fantastic and the hot dog was good. Not an Oscar Mayer for sure and it was tasty. But that sandwich shot up to one of my all time favorites with the first bite. The fresh veggies, the touch of spice, the tender meat, the crunch of the almost panini bread. Su-freakin-perb! And it is so big it would feed 2 with normal appetites. Tried a second time and I really disliked it even more that the first time. Been here several times and the food has grown on me. Sure, it's a bit on the pricier side (~14$ beef roll) against its competition (beef shawarma rolls / gyros pita), but it's executed very well. I am full full after a whole roll unlike other places, so there's that. Meat was quality and tasty. I enjoyed the spicy and garlic sauce. Herb sauce was meh for me. The sandwich style bread was amazing on the first bite, but probably a little too much/sweet overall for the whole thing. The roll is just right for me in the "combination" of it all. The good meat/sauce surrounded by fresh veggie crunch (cabbage). I don't have an alternative for this specific "package" so it looks like I'll be continually returning when the craving hits. read more

We came here excited thinking it was a %100 halal meat. They have a big sign on their window says they use only halal meat. We ordered hotdog and lady at the register said the hotdogs were pork. She said chicken and beef were halal. So we ordered beef and chicken. Food was not fresh our meat was cold. Fries were also not good. I gave 2 stars for people who work there.
