I had been craving a doner kebap and was pleasantly surprised to find a local spot after hopping on Yelp. I'd arrived during the lunch rush, and there was line of folks both waiting to order and to pickup their orders. This is always a great sign in my book! The aesthetic of this space was simple yet thoughtfully decorated. The staff was also really kind and created a warm atmosphere. I really appreciated the simplicity of the menu and how there was a handful of items to order from rather than an overwhelming amount that can cause analysis paralysis. Check out how simple it is! There are four different entrees you can choose from; a kebab sandwich, roll, plate, or box. Onward to the proteins, where you also have four choices: chicken, beef, a mix of the two, or falafel. Then you pick your sauces, choose your vegetables, and BOOM. That's all you need today decide in the have the kebap entree of your dreams. I ended up ordering a beef roll, with garlic and spicy sauce, and all the vegetables minus tomato. I also added on fries and a drink for an additional $3.99. Despite how busy staff was with putting out order after order, I received my order within 5 minutes. And WOWZA was the kebap roll a fantastic size. If I wasn't so hungry, I would've eaten half and saved the rest for later!! The fries were a bit overdone for my liking, but they were freshly fried and made-to-order which I appreciated. The beef roll was fantastic. The ratio of meat to accoutrements was perfect and I loved the medley of sauces. I will DEFINITELY be ordering this meal again the next time I visit. read more

I can't remember if I found this place on Yelp or if my husband found it on TikTok but I am so glad one of us found it. We have been twice in three months... which is pretty good considering it is really out of the way for us. Both times we ordered Kebap in a bun and a couple French hot dogs. I cannot even tell you how good and different this is. The garlic sauce is FREAKING amazing. We brought a hot dog home for our son who didn't eat it, the next morning my husband and I ate it cold, right out of the fridge. It was so good. Service is great. I'm a fan. This Turkish/German Kebap (Kebab) place will be on rotation. The Kebap sandwich with beef will be hard for me to not order so I can try anything else on the menu. The bread is a large and rustic pita pocket. The beef is great, slices off the spit. And the load of veggies with sauce round out the sandwich. The veggies (called salad in the menu) consist of lettuce, cabbage, onion, tomato, and cucumber. You can choose between beef, chicken, or both. And the sauces consist of garlic, herb, or spicy. The counter service is fine... they make everything to order, so it does take a bit of time and it can be a little bit of a wait with orders ahead of you. The place is a typical strip mall fast food place with a handful of tables and some black and white pictures on the wall. Not fancy or crazy, but clean and inviting. read more

What a hidden gem in an unassuming strip mall! We'd been wanting to visit here for a while, and finally made the trip after a long Saturday out and about. It was empty when it arrived, but filled up on our way out, telling me it's a popular place for the younger crowd. Either way, you know you're in for a good meal when you see the huge doner rotisserie spinning. The owner (at least I'm pretty sure he was the owner) helpfully walked us through their sauce selection and even offered my MIL some sauce samples. She ended up getting the hot dog with veggies, while my wife and I got sandwich combos (17 for the sandwich + 3.50 for fries and a drink). I was going to share my combo with my preschooler since they don't have a kids meal, but the owner thoughtfully offered some fries with chicken for him. We definitely had to tip well for such nice service. So this is no ordinary sandwich, and the pictures don't do it justice. In pics it looks kind of like a pita pocket, but this thing has some HEFT. Filled with veggies, meat, and sauce, it got a little messy but was really tasty. The veggies were fresh, and it's hard to top meat sliced right off the log. My MIL said her unique hot dog was good as well. To me it looked like a Chicago dog from another dimension, but I also want to give it a try next time. Protip: Ask for your sauces on the side. They're almost too generous with it on the sandwich so it's nice to have a little more control with it. This will definitely enter the rotation and will be letting our friends know as well. I just know that Berliner will always deliver and always meet your expectations. Twas a semi-late night drive home, and I couldn't tell if I was hearing the growl of my 3.6l V6 or my kegger of a tummy. It could have been both. We passed by many little holes in the walls on Barrington Rd, but we just didn't trust them because they were empty. Berliner Kebap was full and lively. I know this isn't what most people think about, but it is a good feeling to know that the food is moving. It means you're being given fresh food that hasn't been sitting around. I love the simplicity of the menu. Platters, wraps, and sandwiches are genenerous and comfort foody, in the best way possible. Of course it is all about the sauces. I want to scubadive in that garlic sauce. I could put it on everything! The herb sauce and spicy sauce are also pretty awesome. Make your food a meal. You'll get fresh hot fries and a drink. Platters will have a nice salad. It is important to mention that everyone behind the counter is so helpful and as nice as can be. I need more people to know about this place so it can stay open forever. Berliner kebap is one of the spots I frequent. Its one of the only foods my husband will eat. He only likes about 3 restaurants and this is one of them. I grew up in Germany and the doner is more Berlin style than where im from but it still hits certain levels of nostalgia, everything from the bread to the meat are fresh and homemade tasting. They give you so much meat and fill the doner to the brim. The owners are so lovely and personable and kind. Such a wonderful couple of people. read more

I went there today and ordered a kebab roll. At the register, I was informed I'd have to wait 10-15 minutes. After waiting 30 minutes, I still hadn't received it. So I asked the salesperson about my order and was told it would be ready in two minutes. So I asked why you said 10-15 if you knew I'd be waiting 30? He responded by asking if I wanted my money back. The veggies were super fresh and crispy. The people behind the counter were friendly and the place was clean. It's small inside so if it's busy you might not find a table. I mean no offense, but I was expecting less I was wrong! I've had a couple of plates at this point. They include a salad , meat (chicken and/or beef ) and fries . All in generous portions. They also have three different flavors of garlic sauces (plain garlic, herb, and spicy). They are all delicious. My friend found this restaurant on TikTok and we decided to try it. I cannot stress how happy I am that we did. I had the Kebap sandwich with a mix of chicken and beef. We had asked the staff what they recommended for someone who had never been here. The bread was insanely delicious and homemade. The meat was tender and flavorful. Veggies crisp and fresh. We went to Wing Stop and this place was 2 doors down. The pictures of the food in the window were so enticing that even though I wasn't particularly hungry, I ran in to grab a menu. When I showed my wife, we had to get a sample. We ordered the kebap sandwich, with chicken and beef, and the garlic sauce. It comes on this kind of seeded bread pocket that resembles a pita and included tomato, cucumber, red onion, some kind of pickled slaw. We also ordered a plain french hot dog. The baguette around the hot dog was fantastic and the hot dog was good. Not an Oscar Mayer for sure and it was tasty. But that sandwich shot up to one of my all time favorites with the first bite. The fresh veggies, the touch of spice, the tender meat, the crunch of the almost panini bread. Su-freakin-perb! And it is so big it would feed 2 with normal appetites. Been here several times and the food has grown on me. Sure, it's a bit on the pricier side (~14$ beef roll) against its competition (beef shawarma rolls / gyros pita), but it's executed very well. I am full full after a whole roll unlike other places, so there's that. Meat was quality and tasty. I enjoyed the spicy and garlic sauce. Herb sauce was meh for me. The sandwich style bread was amazing on the first bite, but probably a little too much/sweet overall for the whole thing. The roll is just right for me in the "combination" of it all. The good meat/sauce surrounded by fresh veggie crunch (cabbage). I don't have an alternative for this specific "package" so it looks like I'll be continually returning when the craving hits. read more
