I had high hopes, being Persian, I'd hoped to have a similar experience to some of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. Not the case. The Rice was cold, the meat was hot, the salad wasn't fresh, and the food was pricey *$17.54 for a mixed kebab plate with a water... OUCH!* To add insult to injury, they expect you to wait up to 30 minutes while they prepare your meal to order. The same guy who took our order then ran to the back to wash his hands, out on 1 glove, and make our meal. And yes, we sat and waited about 25 minutes before it came out to us... the flavors were off, no Indian, not Pakistan, and definitely not Persian. I think it's safe to say I won't be back. When they say everything is cooked to order they mean it. I waited a couple of minutes for my kabob that I could see on the grill, so very worth the wait!! Chicken kabob, tasty, flavorful, moist, sooo delicious!! Rice was a huge serving, non-sticky and flavorful. The salad a nice touch but the garlic and tahini sauces/dressing were absolutely delicious. This place is tucked into the corner of a strip center. Very easy to look right past it. It is kind of buried away in the corner. But I am glad I found it. Nice little Greek/Mediterranean place. Ordered the chicken shish kabob plate. Chicken was tender, with a nice grill flavor. Humus amount was quite small, wish it was more since it was very flavorful. The yellow rice was some of the best that I have had. It was really good, devoured it all. The sauces were ok, not great but everything else was wonderful. I ordered for take out, didn't have time to sit down and eat in. The food is awesome. The spices are just perfect and they compliment the meat just wonderfully. I had the chicken steak entree and my kids shared a chicken steak sandwich. The portions are very generous. The sandwich was at least 12 inches and weighed as much as small newborn baby. It was stuffed with chicken, tomatoes, lettuce, and onions. My kids ate every bite. The entree was huge as well. The pilaf was perfect and the chicken bursting with flavor. My only major gripe, this place is a decent drive for me. The food here is fire! The lentil soup had plenty of lentils with a lean-to tomatoey taste. Plenty of varying spices and herbs infused into the soup. Personally, I would prefer less spices and herbs so that the lentil can be the main player, but this would just come down to preferences, I would think. Falafels were solid. Hummus was excellent - Felt like it was freshly home made, and I emphasize FRESH and HOME. Had the hot sauce and garlic sauce. The hot resembles hot pete/buffalo sauce mixed with various other. The garlic sauce leaned heavily on the mint side. I prefer my garlic sauce to be more garlicky. Overall, the sauce were just okay to meh for me. Combo meat platter - this is where they shined. Perfect amount of seasoning on all 3 types. The lamb/beef had zero hint of gameyness. The ground chicken and veggie was delish. The chicken kabob was moist and tender. I was very surprised with the amount you receive. Very small amount of chicken for $12.99. While reading their menus I also noticed some typos. They had no salt and tasted as dry as tree bark. It was some of the worst food I've ever had. I don't even know how they're in business with the quality of meals they're serving. Literally nothing was edible from this restaurant other than their rice. I ordered biryani and it was full of crunchy rice. It didn't look or taste fresh. Prices are also high. What little meat was on the platter was very dry and the rice was bland. It was also strange they wouldn't bring the food to the table (we were the only people in there) so we had to keep going back up to get it. Times must be tough because there were three of us and we could only have 4 small paper napkins and when I asked for silverware I was told it would be brought out with the "entree." The guy (I assume the owner) was very friendly but the whole experience was disappointing. I was surprised when he asked about adding a tip when we served ourselves, but I felt bad so left one.
