BTW the name is Chinor, at least the sign above the door. However, there are many sites that call it Chinar. We are leaving for a roadtrip and we were too busy to cook. I decided to look for something different and much to my surprise I see this Uzbek restaurant (and an Ethiopian one) very close to us. Say What?!?! When did that happen??? Oh yea!! I want Plov!! So we order takeout. Great choice!! Plov was moist and cooked just right with all the veggies and hot peppers. I would have prefer a bit more garlic cloves and lamb. We had beef and it was very good, tender, and tasty. The Samsas are also very good, crunchy pastry filled with beef, mild tasting. The Fresh Salad - tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, and cilantro on a light vinegar dressing was refreshing, light, and very juicy tasty tomatoes. It was more than enough food for both of us and we have a whole Samsa and some Plov left over for tomorrow. Yay!!

Curious about food from Central Asia? I sure am. Wasn't disappointed by this neighborhood place. Had the Olivier salad, a combination potato eggs and beef in mayo- fascinating and enjoyable. Also had the Plov a beef and rice dish- the beef was tender and vegetables cooked. I presume designed to be comforting. I'd like to continue down the menu!

My wife's friend mentioned this restaurant. Since we really enjoyed Anjir Restaurant recently, we had to give this place a shot. The sign outside the building says Chinor, but inside it says Chinar. The interior is nice and spacious, and feels fancy. No booth seating, just tables & chairs. The menu is pretty extensive. We ordered manti (dumplings), a beef samsa, lagman, and plov. The manti was really good, but seemed slightly less flavorful than Anjir's manti. The samsa was excellent; the beef chunks inside were nice and meaty, and the outside was a nice flaky dough. The lagman was super flavorful, and the veggies were cooked nicely. Some places chop veggies large (maybe to save time) and barely cook them, so it's like eating raw veggies. Even the noodles were cooked perfectly; not al dente, not soggy. The plov (traditional rice and meat dish) is the best I've had from any Uzbek or Afghan restaurant. The rice was moist, the fatty meat was tender and bursting with flavor, and the carrots were cooked to the point of caramelization. They have cakes in the back counter that you can buy. They even have raw meat skewers that I believe you can buy so you can grill at home. Side note -- they state 100% halal on their FB and Instagram pages, but I didn't see any certification inside. Service was friendly enough. Kind of on the pricy side, but it's a nice sit-down restaurant, not fast casual, so overall I'd say reasonable. We really enjoyed our meal here.

Excellent food from Uzbekistan! We tried Home Samsa, Bread for Appetizer, Fruit Compote. We shared Jiz Biz, Salmon Kebab, Honum, Kazan Kebab and Tandoor Lamb. Every single dish was extremely tasty. Lamb was very tender. Our server was very polite, provided his recommendation which were very good. We did not have to wait too long for our food. Restaurant was very clean, well decorated, had soft background music. To summarize, if you are looking for an authentic Uzbek experience, go no further. Stop by and experience some very tasty and delicious Central Asian cuisine! We will definitely be back!

Nice lively place. Tgrre was no wait , we were seated promptly . The service is slow they need to work on it. Food is good. Servings are not too big. So you must order two of each. Over all it's an ok place and something different.

It's halal, super clean, and the staff? Genuinely some of the kindest and warmest people you'll meet. You can tell they really care about their space and their food -- gloves, masks, and great hospitality all around. The vibe inside is lowkey but elegant, great for a quiet night out or a new food experience with friends or family. The menu reflects a wide variety of authentic dishes -- some comforting, others bold and new depending on your palate. Pelmeni (dumplings): Very strong in flavor, not what I'm typically used to. The texture might take some getting used to -- I wasn't the biggest fan, but my friend loved it. Plov: So flavorful and hearty -- slightly on the greasy side but still really satisfying. Manty: If you're into juicy, steamed dumplings, this is the move. The spices are deep and warming. Honey Cake: Hands down one of my favorites. Soft, lightly sweet, and melts in your mouth -- definitely a must-try. If you're into exploring lesser-known cuisines or just want a meal that feels like a journey across cultures, Jannat is a beautiful stop. It's an experience more than just a dinner, and you can feel the passion behind the dishes.

I wanted my family to experience a glimpse of Kyrgyz food, so of course we ordered all the things only a local would know about ! Shout out to our guide during our trip- he made sure we tried lots of cuisine that was all the way Kyrgyz food! The crispy eggplant is a must and is my favorite ! The eggplant is light and the sauce that is drenched on top is perfect to balance the fried crispy exterior. Next I ordered Samsa, Plov, and lamb kurdock. My husband ordered the beef rib and mash potatoes. Not the most Kyrgyz but he did try everything and loved it all! If you want a taste of central Asian cuisine please come to Jibek Jolu! Don't forget the honey cake!

He wasn't very helpful unfortunately other than naming some appetizers that we tried, though these came after some of our entrees came out. It was also very difficult to get water and refills on water but other than that we loved our experience. We over ordered because again, we were not aware of how big the portions would be and our waiter wasn't very informative: Carrot salad- even as a side this was a big portion to share with delicious light Asian flavors Jibek jolu salad- another great shareable with a tasty dressing and cuts of tender beef Khachapuri- one of the recommended apps, also a big portion to share though we didn't know what to do with the raw egg that came on the side. After flagging someone down to help us, we discovered that this was a delicious cheesy bread with egg mixed in. Crispy eggplant- another recommended app which was delicious and sweet Lamb kurdock- I didn't love this dish it was kind of dry and lacking in flavor but huge with lots of potatoes and veggies Combo skewers- so much meat that was all very tender and flavorful, though it came on one thin soggy tortilla. It would have been nice to have more tortillas on the side to make a wrap. I also tried the chicken tabaka, and this was delicious with a curry flavor. Overall, most dishes were so delicious, but it was a bit of a learning curve on how to order and what to expect.
