    Bake house buffet desserts
    Ernie H.

This is for the buffet. It's not the prettiest and the food looks a little wanting BUT and this is a good BUT there's a lot of selections and they taste Great! Don't let the looks fool you the Sisig may not be crispy but it taste way better than average same with the paksiw na Lechon. Special mention also to the Igado its excellent just the right amount of liver. The pork ceviche is also recommended. The desserts alone here is worth the price$11.95. They have sans rival, pianono, coffe cake/tiramisu, halo halo etc.. Come and patronize this place, so they can continue to give Filipino food options in the Glendale Hts area.

Very good Filipino buffet! All you can eat, Saturday and Sunday only. $8.99 includes appetizers (eggrolls, kikiam, bbq sticks), soup, rice (fried and white), hot entrees (lots of adobo - pork, chicken, squid, pork ribs) diniguan, pancit, kare kare, lots of desserts, and even 3 fruit based drinks. The buffet is fairly new, ever since the beauty shop next door closed. Hopefully enough people come to keep it open, but not too many that lines form or prices go up. This is definitely a hidden gem.

I actually came here for the hot lunch, but ended up getting a lot of random ube pastries, egg rolls, and empanadas. I've had bad experiences with baked empanadas at other bakeries being dried and crumbling instead of flaky. So when I took a bite of theirs, I was super happy to find that they were able to get that flakiness I love so much. Faith restored! The little cup of lumpia were about $5 a pop, so I opted in getting the big vegetable spring rolls. A little greasy, but tasty. The lechon/pork stew I ordered from their hot bar area tasted pretty good as well. My problem was that I hated the container it came in. It was just your typical styrofoam to-go container with one large compartment in the front and two smaller ones in the back. The big compartment was filled with rice. Then the woman who helped me filled only one of the tiny compartments of the pork stew entree. And when a piece of pork fell over onto the empty side, she just took it out of the box and placed it back in the hot bar. Come on, lady. Would it have killed you to have given me the pork? But because the pork stew had a lot of liquid and was only filled in one compartment, it spilled everywhere. The entire to-go box was wet and greasy by the time she placed the food in a bag and handed it to me. And when I walked the 10 steps to my car to eat it, all of the good juice was in the bag because it had leaked from the side of the container. Either place items like that on top of the rice or get a smaller container. Tip: You have to spend at least $12 for credit card.

Had to squeeze in a visit to try their buffet on our last day in Chicago and are we ever glad we did! Guys!! I wish we could take this place back in Toronto with us. AYCE filipino food is unheard of, and its So. Good. You can tell it is all made with love. The people are so friendly. Highlights for us was the leche flan, igado, dinuguan, puto, arroz barley caldo and they had their Make Your Own HaloHalo! ‍

We were greeted quickly and warmly as soon as we came in. And the same lady who welcomed us in was also our server. Let me tell you she was absolutely incredible. She was personable, helpful, very welcoming and had a great sense of humor as well. She was constantly checking in on us, which is great, especially because this was our first time. You can tell from the pictures we ordered a little bit of food not too much and let me tell you everything actually turned out surprisingly delicious. I do find the Filipino food is a little bit of hit or miss, especially in the states. However, everything was delicious. In fact, we only had a little bit of leftovers and managed to clean the plates of everything else. This place is truly authentic. You can still tell that it's owned by a family, which I think is fantastic. The decor is incredible as well. But most importantly for me, which is not how photographic the places, but rather the quality and the taste of the food. One fun thing is that the café next-door is also owned by the family that owns this restaurant. And so you can order food and desserts from the next-door and they'll bring it over to you at the restaurant. I will do a separate review of the café as well. Another fun thing was that as we were on the way out from dinner, we noticed that they were setting up a traditional kamayan set up on a table nearby for a party of six. We had the privilege of meeting the owner and he helped tell us about their set up their pricing and also that quite frankly you can customize us any way that you like. We will definitely be coming here again, even though it is quite far, but this was well worth the drive.

In the back of the store, they have a hot food area, where they display Filipino dishes for the day, which is supplies last, so I tried to come here as early as I can so that I would have all the options to pick for lunch. They also continue serving their dishes while supplies last and they have combo meals which is affordable and they also have seating area where you can enjoy your food. If you want to sample something don't be shy ask if you can have a taste so you can decide if you would like to order that dish or not. You could also order Filipino catering food here as well, which you would order at the cashier register and depending on how far you are located from the store you can also have delivery as well. Overall, it's a nice local Asian store. I would highly recommend to come here and take a look and enjoy their dishes as well. I will definitely come back here.

I sent my husband inside to grab the food and according to him it was chaotic and messy in there. He did not care for the vibe. The fried chicken was bland, plus all dark meat in the two-piece combo, so I won't be getting that again. It came with a side of gravy which is ok if you like gravy (I usually do not and didn't like this one either). Fries are nothing special. The chicken sandwich is really lacking in seasoning and they skimped on the mayo. Popeye's does it better and for cheaper too. Their angus cheeseburger reminds me very much of a Wendy's burger, although the patty is thicker here. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here for the burger, but it's a solid option if ordering other food. The star of the show was the Jolly spaghetti. What a unique flavor from the sweetness of the sauce to the cheese and hot dog pieces! I wish there had been just a little more cheese, however. Also, it only tastes good when hot and starts to lose its luster when it cools down. I do like that they serve fountain Pepsi since it's pretty hard to come by these days other than at Taco Bell (and it's less watered down than Taco Bell's version). Overall, I think this place is just ok and if not for the spaghetti I'd probably never eat here again. I will come back occasionally for that spaghetti. It's Sheldon approved. IYKYK

Perhaps the spicy chicken is the unique version. The breading was nice and crispy. The mashed potatoes were just like KFC. Nondescript. The spaghetti side, however, was truly unique. A smoky sauce, hot dog pieces, and shredded cheddar on top of pasta. It was pretty tasty and definitely unique. If I go back, I'll try the spicy chicken. Otherwise it was a pretty disappointing experience.
