I was shocked at how fast the food was served. We ordered and our appetizers were served and right after that was the bowls. We order egg rolls and dumplings. We also ordered the Creme Brulee (this wasn't a good as I'd hoped). The pickled daikon was the star of the show. WOW that is good! Everything was delicious! And the staff was so very nice. Attentive and helpful! The ambiance is nice, laid back. Enjoyed the music that was being played. They have tables and chairs as well a booths for dining in. Very nice experience.

I didn't realize this was very close to Fry N' Wings. The parking is huge because it's shared. This is by far the busiest Vietnamese restaurant that I've ever been to. I never had to wait so long to get a table. I'm hoping it's not like this all the time. We ordered shrimp egg rolls, garlic butter beef banh baos, two build your own pho's with ribeye and beef tripe, soft shell crab banh mi, egg coffee, and Thai tea. Service after we got sat down, was quick and attentive. We got our food fast and hot. Overall 4.5 but I'll round to a 5. I would say this and Pho Ha will be my go to places for overall Vietnamese food. I would love to return to try other items on the menu. I felt that the prices were competitive with other Vietnamese places. If you thought this was expensive, then maybe American fast food will be up your alley? -shrimp egg rolls 5 - these were good. It comes with three. I like that they added some veggies to go with it, kind of even out the fried food. Crispy outside and moist inside. -garlic butter beef banh baos 4.5 - the beef was tender and juicy. I took off half because I would have liked more sauce throughout so that it's not dry when you take that first bite. The baos were soft and firm. -pho with ribeye and beef tripe 5 - I appreciate the generous amount of meat for a small bowl. There could have been more noodles, but I guess if you got a bigger size they would add more. The noodles had a chewier texture. The broth was light and savory. -soft shell crab banh mi 5 - I was surprised to see a good size banh mi with a huge portion of soft shell crab. I like that the bread is crunchy. It does have a bit of a kick due to the jalapeños but it adds more flavor.

My first time ever trying pho and I didn't know what to expect. From the outside, it doesn't seem like much, but when you walk in it's a cute, nicely decorated space with plenty of room and a boba bar in the back. We ordered an appetizer, two pho bowls, and a Thai tea. The pork bao buns were delicious -- the pork was flavorful and tender. The Thai tea had a great balance of tea and milk, and the flavor was really good. We tried one beef broth pho and one vegan broth. Adding a little of the sauces on the side definitely helped enhance the flavor. The chicken in my bowl was okay, just a bit dry, but the carrots and noodles were good. Service was good. I actually liked that you can eat and talk without staff constantly coming up to the table. Overall, a solid first pho experience and I'd come back to try more.

Bloomingdale is a 40-minute drive for us. So we had to make the most of the trip and brought the whole family for an outing. We arrived around 11:30 am on a Saturday and there was no wait. We ordered and tried the following: 1) Shrimp egg rolls 2) Tofu banh bao 3) Small pho, beef broth, brisket, beef meatballs - We specifically order the pho for my girls and they both finished it without a single drop of broth left. 4) Small pho, vegan broth, tofu and mushrooms - Most Vietnamese restaurants do not have a vegan broth option. My mom is a vegetarian so this was definitely a surprise and ideal option! 5) Bun Dau Mam Tom - This can be a mess to wrap the fried tofu, steamed pork, rice noodles, and shrimp paste in lettuce. Everything went well together and the shrimp paste has a slight kick to it. 6) Soft shell crab fried rice - The soft shell crab is crunchy and came with a generous portion of fried rice. We had plenty of fried rice left. 7) Vietnamese iced coffee - My parents generally prefer the Vietnamese coffee hot however Pholicious only serves them cold. 8) Egg coffee - Rich and creamy! We did not try the banh mi but we did buy a bag of freshly baked baguettes to go. Each bag comes with three baguettes. If you buy one bag, it is $3. However, if you buy two bags, it is cheaper at $5. The baguettes held up really well for our home-made sandwiches.

Northern Pho: It was okay. I still prefer their Pho with sliced ribeye. The noodles here were thicker and a bit undercooked for me, I'd want them softer. The broth was solid, but the beef could've used more flavor. 8/10 Grilled Pork Lemongrass Rice Platter: Tasted good overall, though I'm used to getting more pork at other spots. Still a decent plate. 8/10 Service: We got our food without issues, everything came out as ordered. 10/10

We tried Pholicious and had a great experience. There's plenty of parking, lots of seating inside, and the décor is clean and inviting. We went on a Saturday at noon and had no wait, which was a nice surprise. We ordered the pho, bún bò Huế, and the grilled pork rice dish. The food came out quickly, fresh, and piping hot. Everything was delicious, and the staff was friendly and attentive. I'm definitely looking forward to going back to try some of their drinks and explore more of the Vietnamese dishes on the menu.

Really liked their banh mi, tofu was super soft and warm when served and they don't overwhelm you with sauces. The pickled vegetables were just the right amount of sweet and sour. Cilantro was very fresh also. I saw that they had salted coffee and had to get one. It's really good, in my opinion. So bitter, savory, creamy and thick. A bit too powerful after a few sips but after the ice melts, it's just right! I also loved that their lunch special iced tea is actually jasmine tea and not some cheap Lipton tea. Will definitely come back to get other stuff!

Wow, everything went super super well. For starters ...from the greeting as you enter there was no wait time. We were seated immediately and the food was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed the chicken pho, also the appetizer was just very tasty. I also for a drink tried a mango pineapple smoothie and it tasted just pleasantly and surprisingly heavenly. The manager, Seth was very helpful very accommodating and just made the experience so so so wonderful. Only if I lived closer to the place, I would be there every day to enjoy dinner. Everything was so great. It was spacious enough to entertain sit down fora family. I also loved the decor. Service was quick and friendly. Service portions were okay just enough. It was a soothing atmosphere. Very nice. was so it was a very pleasant evening. Highly recommend. One of the most beautiful, pleasant, and fulfilling dining experience!

Oh my goodness. If I lived in the west suburbs I would be coming here every single day. This is even better than past reviews. I ordered the garlic steak banh mi, and even though I had high expectations based on the previous reviews, this sandwich met and exceeded those expectations. I ordered take out as this restaurant was fully packed in a Sunday. The vibe and decor was great inside . The music had almost a Miami vibe going. That was nice Service was fast and I was in and out in under ten minutes I can't wait to get out from the city to the suburbs again to try other items in the menu!!

I love their $6 banh mi special on Wednesdays. We always order the steak banh mi. I've had their phö before & it's very good but not my favorite. If you're feeling fancy, they offer a pricier short rib option for both, banh mi & phö. Pro tip: Call the restaurant directly instead of online ordering as the various services do charge a few bucks extra. Had to give only 4 stars cuz they charged me $1 for a very small side of chili oil, when for that size it should've been free with my order. Definitely recommend this place if you're in the area!

I finally made it in to Pholicious, after a friend recommended I try the Banh Mi. I came in the week of Easter and I am still not eating meat, but I love that there are plenty of vegetarian and pescatarian options to try. The tofu bao bun appetizer was delicious with a nice sweet salty taste. Also ordered a shrimp spring roll and the accompanying peanut sauce is thick and full of flavor. The highlight of the meal was the fried egg Banh Mi. The veggies and fresh cilantro compliment the egg and the soft but crisp bread. I ordered a peach tea and it had a lot of fresh peach in it. So much, that it came up through the straw with every sip. A solid first visit. I'll be back after Easter, on a Wednesday, to try the pork belly Banh Mi - $6 sandwiches on Wednesdays! Service was a little slow, but I didn't mind at all as I was busy catching up with a friend I haven't seen in awhile. There are very friendly servers working here, who encouraged us to come back. And that, we will do!

I looked up highly rated Vietnamese restaurants and found Tasty House 1 in Carol Stream. This place is everything we anticipated it to be. The location is nice and has parking in front, inside is super spacious and had a relaxing and breathable ambiance. We ordered a family appetizer platter that came with all the delicious Vietnamese appetizers like: spring rolls, bbq marinated meat, fried eggrolls, grilled jumbo shrimp, meat wrapped in betel leaf, lettuce, noodles, cucumbers, cabbage, tomatoes, daikon, jalapeños, two dipping sauces: peanut butter hoisin and Vietnamese fish sauce. Another appetizer we got separately was the fried calamari which had a great crunchy texture, the absolute best! For our entrees I decided to build my own pho and chose tripe, rib eye steak and quail eggs. My husband got the spicy beef noodle soup (Bun Bo Hue). This is honestly the best Vietnamese we've ever had in our lives!!!! I'm so glad I found this place. Awesome service, food and atmosphere. Zero complaints everything was very fresh and perfect. There is a separate vegan menu with half a dozen things on it, and other than the drinks and desserts, pretty much nothing on the regular menu is vegetarian. (The papaya salad, which is on the vegan menu, is a ringer: it contains fish sauce.) You've got your choice of various fruit lemonades, bubble teas, popping bubble teas, jellies, etc. Desserts include flan, Vietnamese yogurt, coconut jelly - none of which you'll be eating onsite as you'll be too full after your entree. Portions are on the large side - even the papaya salad is a meal. I got the peach lemonade, vegetable spring rolls and the tofu, vegetable and noodles, which turned out to be a soup, basically Vietnamese ramen. The spring rolls are tasty and come with peanut sauce; the vegetable broth was savory with lots of baby bok choy, plenty of noodles and cubes of fried tofu - it was even better with some of the homemade hot sauce, which I highly recommend. The lemonade comes in a bubble tea disposable cup and contains tiny pieces of fruit - very fruity, not very citrusy. Service was friendly and very personable, which helps if you're serving 16 people. All of whom were happy.

I've repeatedly asked that they don't include so much rice in the chicken rice soup since it ends up more like wet chicken and rice, and yet they continue to do it. The flavor was pretty bad this time around anyway, so I will not be ordering it again. Strangely enough, the egg drop soup, which I do not normally care for, was quite good. So the quality varies, I guess. Speaking of quality, the vegetable eggrolls were over-cooked and dry, but the shrimp eggroll, which was part of a lunch order, was good. I also tried the fried rice for the first time and was not impressed at all. It looked like Panda Express fried rice, except Panda Express is better. Usually Chinese fried rice is much better than any chain. As for the main dishes, the sesame chicken and teriyaki chicken were good, but the broccoli chicken was just so-so. In the photos online it has a brown sauce, but it came with a white sauce. I'm not sure if that has to do with my special instructions asking to put garlic in it or not, though. I also asked in my special instructions not to provide utensils or any sauce but sweet and sour but they threw in hot mustard, soy sauce, and utensils anyway. So I still don't know if they can see the special instructions or just choose to ignore them. In any case, I will probably still order here occasionally since the location is convenient, but I'm not as thrilled with the food as I was in the past. That being said, they do pack the containers as full as possible which I appreciate as not all places do.

Sushi is made fresh and they offer many many options. The presentation was very nice! My wife had the Beef and Broccoli gluten free which was not available on the lunch menu but it was big enough to share. Served piping hot,the flavor was amazing. I had the Chicken Lo Mein lunch special with an egg roll and Egg Drop soup. No rice since it came with noodles. Portion was enough to bring some home. With locations in Arlington Heights, Naperville and Highwood, this is definitely a place to try. I can't wait to go back !
