Tried out Chi Tea in Schaumburg after seeing some positive Yelp reviews. My first impression was that the inside is laid out a bit odd. The entry is super spacious then dining area completely to the side. There is both an ordering counter and kiosk which has menu item photos (super helpful!). The pricing all across the board seemed a bit high. I got the burger slider, my fiancé a spicy chicken slider, and we split a fry. There isn't complimentary water so we had to pay for that as well. We took a seat to wait for the food and immediately noticed a smell from the cleaner they use to wipe the tables; for sure musty smell. Our food didn't take too long and we really enjoyed everything we got. It was a bit messy so we washed our hands before leaving. The bathrooms were not clean with dirt and dust in the corners and sink with hair in it. The individual working the counter clearly was sitting on his phone when no one was ordering or in the back kitchen at points leaving no staff member visible to guests. This also wasn't ideal in my mind. If reviews were solely based on food, this would be another story. Sadly while the food was good, my overall experience wasn't ideal. I now understand the mixed reviews. I would maybe carry out only in the future. read more

The chicken burgers are GREAT! Consistently good! The only problem with this location is the STALE FRIES! My order today and my previous order a couple weeks ago - we received stale old fries both times, they were very dry. I hope they fix this problem and stop reusing old fries the next day, especially if they want their customers to return. read more

Came for boba, left with everything! We got the angry bird fries which was their crunchy fries with popcorn chicken and their chi sauce, which was kinda tangy/zesty/spicy? Aioli like and it was very good! Chicken was a little overcooked so they were tougher, but overall very good. My friend and I split the spicy big bird and the chi classic burger. The pictures that are shown of the big bird in the restaurant were a LOT larger than what they give you which was kind of disappointing but still very good. We got the Thai tea w/ boba, which tasted like it was from a powder or concentrate since it didn't taste much like Thai tea, but still yum. Cool place to hang with an aesthetic lobby and lots of seating in the back! Prices were too bad either read more

An average rating of 3.2 stars?!?! WHAAAAAAAAT! I've had Chi Tea at both the Schaumburg and Lombard location and equally love them. This location is brand new and it continues to look brand new. Not only do the staff members constantly clean and make sure tables are ready - so do the customers. That's a plus in my opinion when the clientele also takes care of the business. The service was very fast - you are able to order through a tablet or at the front counter. My fiancé and I noticed a longer line at the counter and no one using the tablet to we opted to 'skip the line' and ordered via the tablet . Our food was prepared and ready to be picked up at the counter within 10 mins. I noticed a lot of first time customers ordering at the front counter and the staff members were very kind and patient with explaining the business and providing recommendations. Food and drinks - We shared a peach lemonade which was light and refreshing. Kind of tasted artificial but ya know, it's definitely not peach season lol. For food we got the big bird with mild sauce and devoured that. We're both big fans of chicken and we absolutely love chi tea's chicken sandwich. We also had the loaded chicken fries bc well.. love for chicken is real! This 'side' is massive and can easily be enjoyed as an entree. It's full of flavor and will have you addicted instantly. Was really excited to try this boba and burger joint but was a bit let down. First the spicy cheesy beef fries were delicious. We also ordered the cheeseburger which was well executed. Bun and burger and the toppings all thumbs up. The spicy chicken slider was a bit too greasy and I didn't think I was a fan of. Very spicy btw but that seemed to be all I tasted. What was a huge disappointment was the boba drinks. I ordered brown sugar milk tea with 50% sweetness and wow not only was it still so sweet, but the tea flavor is really bold. I can't really pin down what spices were brewed in their tea, but it's definitely not the tea I'm used to getting at other places. I didn't enjoy it. My family also got the Tiger sugar Thai Tea and it didn't taste anything like Thai tea that's known for its floral notes. The taro was probably the only drink that seemed like what you'd expect. I wouldn't come back for the boba experience sadly to say. But maybe the burger and spicy cheese fries I would! read more

maybe it's me. maybe i don't know what Milk Tea should be. The first one I received was far too sweet for me. I asked for a new one without sugar. The replacement was just as sweet. i won't be returning. i don't recommend. the server who took my order didn't really seem to know anything either. didn't know how many carbs were in the tapioca. didn't know what tapioca was made from. wasn't very helpful. i didn't get the tapioca - just milk tea. didn't ask for it sweetened. didn't expect it to be sugary. i have had milk tea before. never had it so sugary. i gave a good tip and still got subpar service and an unpalatable beverage. as noted it might be me. i am looking for a low sugar mildly caffeinated tea beverage to give me a little spring in my step on a sunny August afternoon. I can't lie food is really good, but the place is disgusting. The floors are sticky, The tables smell like toilet cleaner and old rag that hasn't been cleaned in months. Very pungent and not what I want to smell when I eat. And customers services is awful. I walked in and your employees are on the phone texting until I say I'm ready to order and when they take my order they continue to text on their phone. Amazing food but no one has a good work ethic. Consistently good!! Can't go wrong with any of the items on the menu! Bigbird sandwich is recommended if you are really hungry and the classic Chitea to stay on the lighter side. I went to this location for the 2nd time. The first time was pretty good the 2nd time there was barely any chicken in the sandwich. Usually we're full just by eating one sandwich and sometimes even half of a sandwich but this time the big bird wasn't so big. It's pretty disappointing given the price of everything. Ordered their classic burger... close as it can get to In n Out burger. My son said better than In n Out. I also got their avocado bubble tea which was also good. New go to chicken sandwich spot for me! Came here for the first time and luckily they have a order screen that made the process much easier than ordering up front. The workers were nice and I got my food right away. Had guest from abroad and love burgers. We decided to take them to Schaumberg location as it had a better seating availability then Rosavelt rd. The cashier kid was very rude and for sure will never go to that location again. Order at 03:26 Pm and Paid $100 plus for food as we love their food at Bolingbrook location we always go to. The burgers were cold, and restaurant was dirty. Definitely, never going to that location again. Worst experience ever at this Chai tea. read more

Food quality- was average, I waited 45 minutes for 1 bubble tea, 2 big bird sandwiches and 1 order of angry birds! I've been served much faster at a sit down restaurant and had better quality food. The service was painfully slow- as I mentioned 45 minutes. For such a limited menu you would expect much faster preparation and better quality. The ambiance- not worth the hype. I found out about it through social media, just goes to show don't believe everything you see. Good food, consistently the same taste. They don't burn the chicken often (Lombard does this more). You can rely on it. They always ask for a tip but don't really service you or clean the tables before or after you eat. Sometimes the garbage is full to the top. The walls have some splattered food near the tables. They do seem to be getting better at cleaning however. read more

I wanted to love it... I even gave it multiple chances. Unfortunately, this location has let me down again. Chi tea is my usual go to place for a great crispy halal chicken sandwich. The portions are normally huge and the quality great, it justifies the price they charge. This location does not give you that same quality. The first time I ordered a chicken slider, the chicken piece was smaller than the bun. It looked like they had placed a nugget inside of a slider bun and it was super dry. I waited a few weeks to give it another try and got the bigger chicken sandwich to see maybe it was what I ordered.. again, the buns were bigger than the chicken. The little pieces of slaw swam in the soupy mess of sauce and coleslaw "milk" dressing. Like I said, I've gone to Bolingbrook and Lombard and I have never had this problem. I feel like it's the location. I love supporting local halal businesses but this place is a miss. Quality needs to improve dramatically for me to even reconsider. The food was ok however, I ordered my 9 year old a burger, mild and when I went to try and return they argued with me that the burger isn't that spicy. the point is I ordered a burger with no jalapeños and mild. I then stated that I cN purchase another but not if it's going to be the same spice level. the owner said ok thanks and proceeded to walk away. Also, every table was dirty in the establishment and the garbage was over flowing next to the tables where everyone eat. If you can't handle an order of 800 boba tea then don't take it at the expense of providing terrible service to customers that eat in house. read more

Was in the area looking for a place to have lunch and came across Chi Tea. Cute ambiance when you walk inside! You could order on the kiosk or we had a live person. We ordered a hamburger, loaded fries and the banana pudding. We didn't even get bubble tea cause we wanted to try the food. It was delicious! Probably one of the best burgers I've had in awhile.
