I can't say its any different to other poke establishments - you pick a bowl, choose your ingredients. I got a salmon / salmon spicy combo with brown rice and toppings. The rice was a bit undercooked. But the portions are generous. I also ordered a mango smoothie which was OK. I would have ordered a boba milk tea but they don't offer non-diary option other than powdered milk (bleh). read more

still the best place for poke! my usual order of homie lomi is always spot on and they occasionally have daily specials that they alert you via text. don't forget to sign up for their rewards as well! their bubble tea game is also good. my usual order is the green tea smoothie.. so good! i will have to try their shaved ice some time read more

Cute, small poke bowl place. Tucked into a little strip mall, it's easy to miss it if you're not looking. Everything was really fresh and seasoned well. Prices were decent as well. The regular was enough to fill me up. Service was friendly. read more

Maybe I got the wrong thing. I usually like to build my own, but this didn't have enough sauce. The toppings selection wasn't as good as other places, and it just felt like you don't get as much for the price. The person working there was very nice though. And it was clean and bright inside. I'd say the food is meh, but would try again to make sure it's not just what I ordered. read more

I think this is an excellent choice for a quick lunch. Instead of going to a typical fast food operation, you can pop in here where the choices can be much healthier, with enough options to satisfy your taste buds. On this trip I ordered up an "Ono" bowl for both me and my daughter. She had white rice for her base, and I went with brown rice for mine. The Ono includes two types of salmon, avocado, edamame, cucumbers, soy sauce, masago, and spicy mayo. She topped her bowl off with seaweed and I had some onion strings. The bowl was delicious and seemed a perfect blend of flavors. On a previous visit, I had the "Lomi Homie" which was also very good, They have an efficient pre-ordering set-up here, and people were doing easy pickups, yet both times that I've been here, I just came in, was served immediately, and was in and out right away. I opted for the listed bowls, because when they have pre-set options, I figure that they have obviously taste-tested these combinations, and it's like a recommendation. However, you can easily create your own bowl. The options are right there in front of you, and you can glide along with the server as she goes down her assembly stroll, and just pick out what you want. And, if you are watching your weight, maybe you choose lettuce as your base, and perhaps stay away from the spicy mayonnaise, and you've got a well balanced lunch with protein and lots of vegetables. I started a new weekly ritual of having a poke bowl once a week, looking for the best around town. As I stumbled on poke ono, I'll admit that I didn't have high expectations since I haven't heard anyone talk about it before. I was delightfully surprised. The taste was great, the toppings were delicious, the sauces were perfectly proportioned, and the fish was fresh and tasty. What slightly elevated this poke bowl over some over places I've had recently is the taste of the fish. I got the ono, which comes with salmon. The taste of the salmon was the fatty, buttery goodness that I always look for in my salmon. Pretty much just because of this, I may have liked it better than some other places. There are other places that have great ingredients and toppings, but I can't really tell I'm eating raw salmon. Here, the salmon shined. The only downside was my bowl of ono was way smaller than my mom's bowl of da gringz. Both were signature bowls that we did not get to customize. The uneven amount of food in there made me feel like I didn't get my full money's worth. We'll see next time. I'll be back. read more

Love this place. I had my first poke bowl a couple years ago from a place in Woodfield mall, but it took my wife a couple years to come around to trying it. We got a menu from Poke Ono in the mail and when she read it, we gave it a go. They have a couple premade bowls that fit our tastes, but making your own is the best. They proportion the meats, veggies and sauces really well. Some places are dry, or have way too much rice. Flavors and quality are spot on. The Orange Ginger sauce is so tasty. So good!! Can't go wrong with poke but I have to admit I've never seen a poke bowl shop so busy!! Let me know it had to be delicious. They were fast too! We came in just in time on Labor Day for lunch at about 1pm, before the huge line happened. I ordered a "make your own" bowl and my daughter ordered the Da Grindz bowl. Our bowls were pretty similar in the end but I wanted tobiko and wasabi Mayo on mine instead. If I ever came back to Schaumburg, I would eat here. Fresh, Friendly and Fast. read more

I was in a rush the other day and I wanted something healthy and knowingly a little expensive relative to other meals. I noticed this establishment and thought that it might have been my friend's establishment, poke ono poke, but it turns out it was an establishment with another owner that speaks Mandarin. Looks like they have a shave ice machine and the desserts look great, however, I had no time for this. Today. Portion size was what I would expect. Fish quality seemed very good. I don't know if they fly in their fish everyday or not, however, I know that's what my friend's place does. The interior look nice and clean, and when I arrived, two were waiting to order. With one person doing the service behind the counter, I felt the speed at which the orders were filled was a little compromised. However, I thought it was interesting that you can select white, sushi or brown rice with the bowls. Next time I'm in the area and I want to grab a healthy lunch, I think I'll come back and try some other options or maybe just a dessert! read more

Don't sleep on this place!! I love coming here, I highly recommend the lime passion fruit green tea, it's sooo delicious. I'm a passion fruit lover and the taste is so fresh and sweet, but you still get that green tea flavor. I added strawberry popping boba, so good. Don't understand how there can be a one star review. The fishes were all fresh, and when it wasn't busy they would cover the fish with a lid to maximize the freshness of the fish we were served, which I've never seen at any other poke store. The prices are affordable, each REGULAR size signature bowl is only $12.95. You can also build your own bowl with unlimited toppings. Most importantly there are more aucentic sauces options than other places, and all are gluten free which is awesome, especially recommend ono shoyu sacue. Very nice presentation as well. Would definetly come back. read more

Just had my very first poke bowl at this place! I placed my order online for pick up which was very easy to do. Restaurant was very clean, nice employees and everything looked very fresh! I got two regular build yourself bowls (2 proteins each) for my husband and I with a side of seaweed salad (additional $1). My two proteins of choice was spicy salmon and Hawaiian styled ahi raw. My husband's protein choice was spicy salmon and spicy tuna. My husband loved it so much that he regret not getting the large (3 proteins) bowl. They are definitely very generous with their toppings. It tasted good going down, not great coming up. I'm not sure if it was the avocado smoothie or that the fish I received seemed warmer than I'd like, but I threw up on the drive home in my driveway. I couldn't even make it inside to puke and I live less than 15 min away. This was over the summer of 2023. I ordered a poke bowl for my husband and after barfing threw it out so he would avoid getting sick. Mind you I wasn't sick that day or even that week before going here. To be honest, I didn't see a single Hawaiian person in sight and that should have been my first clue. Don't eat here to avoid getting sick. read more

Service very mediocre and slow. Sushi did not taste fishy. However portions are small and they charge extra for condiments, where many poke places like Aloha sushi do not charge extra. Not sanitary - a fresh poke bowl was weighed and mixed in an OLD and used mixing bowl with leftover sauce. Dirty dishes laid out near garbage can. Too bad M sushi burrito has closed. Love the food here! The boba is great especially for being a place that is primarily food focused, and you can choose between multiple sweetness levels (0%, 30%, 50% or 100%). The atmosphere is cute and modern and the customer service is awesome. I got the Huli bowl, which was delicious and satisfying. It's pretty heavy on the sauce so I would ask for light sauce if you're not a big fan of that. Heavy handed on the tapioca as well which is good since you're getting your moneys worth as tapioca is a dollar extra but is standard nowadays to charge for that. read more

Love this place! This is my favorite poke spot. The food is always very fresh and delicious! I was surprised to find out they just updated their menu with some hot bowl options, and more topping and sauce choices. Always happy with more options :) I just tried the Mochiko chicken bowl, the sauce made everything delicious. It comes with green salad, but personally I love the sushi rice there, so I got half green salad and half sushi rice. And I'm so happy to see the Eel rice bowl on their menu too, very good value! read more

I got -shrimp po boys (x-tomato) with fries -one of each sauce -peach cobbler On my 15 minute drive home everything was still fresh and warm and crispy. -Fries were SO perfectly seasoned I almost didn't even need a sauce, which for me is crazy as I need a sauce with everything (but I always try it first without). -The po boy...my god. It was so crispy, fresh, the shrimps were perfectly battered (hate when they hide the shrimp between 10 layers of batter), the lettuce was fresh and surprisingly not wilted by the time I got to my destination. I'm not one for cheese on my po boys, and almost got it without, but im actually really glad I kept the cheese on. -Sauces were all great, the Roumalade is where it's at though. I could've really just had 10 of those and been happy! The tarter was a bit less zesty/tart than what I'm used to, but I ended up putting the hot sauce in it and it was delicious -peach cobbler i have yet to try, but it looks so glossy and creamy, will be eating tonight! The service was really just the cherry on top. Elizabeth, the owner, is the one who greeted me, and she was just a doll. She's a sauce queen, like me, so she made sure I try every single sauce! And gave me the peach cobbler on the house as it's my first time there. She's just the sweetest! You can tell her, her husband, and her son just have so much fun together. I'm just so warmed by my experience there, as she went so above and beyond, AND my food was impeccable. I'm quite the critique with my food, and only rate honest to what I feel, and this place deserves 5/5 stars hands down.

It's clean and dark with gold lettering on the outside. The inside has this lovely high class feel to it, large rooms, clean lines, and comfortable furniture. Aesthetically for me it's a 10 out of 10. The service was exceptional. It's one of those places where you could tell that good service is not just an afterthought but a focal point. For my dinner, I was very excited to try their wedge salad and one of the appetizers. I got the corn beef plates and they were very tasty and delightful. However, the real star for me was that wedge salad. It was a well executed wedge, with an exceptional piece of pork belly that just kicked it over the top for me. I do mildly regret my decision not to eat a steak instead, but it will give me a reason to come back and see how they can cook a fine piece of meat. Do not miss this place.

Well, the chicken karaage was really fried chicken breast meat (no bones; not a prob for me, but hubby - a japanese man by birth- was not impressed). The agedashi tofu was yummy and quite good. Nice! Ok- my ramen was - yes- spicy and oily, as any good ramen should be. The bad part? I could tell the bean sprouts weren't fresh as my sensitive digestive tract let me know - fast- that the sprouts were "not" fresh. Yikes. Not a good thing - hence the demerit. Ok- first- we may come again. But gosh. the workers really need to be a bit happier to be there- or - if they can't be pleasant - keep them out of the public's eye. That would be a big help- after all, this was our first visit- and it wasn't too welcoming - it would have offset the bad sprouts, you know?

However, my most recent visit came in for dinner and I just had to finally update this post because throughout all of these visits, this place is so amazingly consistent in the food quality in the portions and in the incredible Japanese hospitable service. This is truly authentic legitimate food. And it's great to see the menu over the years really evolved as well as expand. This is a real go to, and I am so glad that they're here and not too far away and this is truly a great Japanese cultural feast and taste for the mouth!
