I'm glad that this coffee house is around because my husband and I had a great experience at Around Cafe. We went in on a Saturday afternoon and there were a fair number of people there while we were around. I ordered the hot chocolate. I found it rich and creamy. My husband got the iced black coffee and he enjoyed it. I enjoyed Around Cafe and hope the stick around for a long time! read more

Neat little cafe with limited seating that serves high quality drinks at reasonable prices. This spot serves all your favorite coffee options, but also has a good selection of asian themed drinks such as tea latte, boba, and jelly drinks. This provides a nice change of pace from the usual options which are prepared with quality ingredients on high quality machines. The staff is very friendly and can provide recommendations if you aren't sure what to get. Being in downtown Arlington Heights, this isn't far from spots to sit down or nearby North School park. read more

Super pleasant experience at Around Cafe. Friendly service, cozy (approachable, nothing fancy) interior perfect for a small group chat or reading, and delicious drinks! Black sesame latte was great. Earl Grey drink was also very tasty. Thanks for a great spot! We'll be back. read more

I love how it's very conveniently located near the Arlington Heights Metra station. The family had made plans to make a day out of Chicago downtown and we opted to park and ride at Arlington Heights Metra station. It was a pretty chilly morning, so I was definitely in the mood for a cup of hot coffee. Around Cafe is one of many shops around the station, which makes it very convenient. I can see myself becoming a regular if I lived in the area and had to take the train into Chicago for work. It's a nice little mom-n-pop store that's set up nice and cozy. I had a cup of espresso matcha latte, which was exactly what it sounded like. Definitely hit the spot for me. The place probably had maybe 5 to 7 tables for seating and most of them were occupied despite it being pretty early. Lady baristas were all very nice and lively, which made the atmosphere nice also. This was my one and only visit, so I don't like to settle on a verdict yet, but if I'm in the area, I can see myself visiting in the future. read more

Worth the trip despite the small location and you have park in the street or one of the many parking spots around, including a giant parking deck. I got the lavender latte it was a bit more burnt and darker flavor than usual. Couldn't really taste the lavender flavor but it's better than most and better than watery. Small location maybe seating for 20. Cozy. Quick and super friendly service. Lovely staff. Location is prime to sit and enjoy the view out the large windows if you can score the four window seats. read more

Around cafe is literally a cafe around the corner, lol, in downtown Arlington Heights. It is a small establishment that can seat about 20 people. It seems to be a spot where people come to read a book or get some work done. Not a lot of conversations going on while I was there, people were keeping to themselves for the most part. Service was very quick and the staff members are kind. This was my first time there and I tried the lavender latte and I'm glad I did! It is strong and delicious. I also tried an ube donut with fruity pebbles on top, that was a miss for me. The donut was stale and lacked the ube flavor. Tasted more like a vanilla cake donut. read more

Arlington Heights' best coffee spot! Around Cafe is where my love for lavender lattes started. The menu offers a great variety of unique drinks and treats on top of some classic staples. The lavender latte is the perfect mix of stronger coffee and floral. The chai latte is more on the spiced side than sweet. The staff is always very friendly and good at making recommendations. Drinks are always consistent and quickly turned around. The inside decor is simple with tasteful touches of plants and decor. Be sure to try this spot out! read more

Stopping in at Around Cafe today for a quick wake-me-up after picking up a museum pass from Rep. MaryBeth Canty's office. Though I've been here before, I seem to always forget how fresh their coffee is and how friendly the staff are! Today is a dreary, overcast, drizzly Monday in August. It's one of those days where a nice warm or hot cup of coffee would make the day, but I'm not giving up on summer yet so ICED coffee it is! Plus I don't care for burning off my tastebuds with my first sip of latte and ruining the rest of the cup not being able to taste it. Their special of the week is Toasted Marshmallow Latte - My Favorite! I ordered a large with light ice. I'm so use to being cheated at the big mermaid with only 3 shots of espresso that I asked for an extra shot. With a smile, I believe he was was the owner, told me the large comes with 4 shots automatically. WHAT?!? All that for only $5.50? YES PLEASE! It was made quickly and offered up with a proud smile showing pride in his product. The straw inserted ready to drink with a quick pull of the topped wrapper to keep it clean until I was. I stirred the drink with my straw out of habit, pulled the straw topper wrapper off, and took a big sip - Wow! I can taste every bit of the espresso and just the right amount of sweetness of the toasted marshmallow. Perfecto in ratio balance, with just a slight chill from the light ice. The ambiance? It's a nice, quiet place when I went at 9:45 am on Monday. A few customers were sitting around their well spaced tables, some with friends chatting quietly, and a couple of people tapping away at their computers alone. There seemed to be no rush or loud music to dissuade people from enjoying their time inside Around Cafe. The music played softly, loud enough to hear, but not so loud that a conversation can't happen. Food and Beverages: There is a large assortment of beverages from teas, to mochas, to lattes, espressos, to even a Boba drink or two. Under glass there were delicious sliced breads like blueberry loaf, muffins, cookies, and on the weekends - Ube donuts! Their goods change and rotates. I heard someone ask about waffles. I'll have to inquire about that next time. For today - Thanks for my eye-opening, delicious Toasted Marshmallow Iced Latte and the amazing service! Great start to the week! read more

I love Around Cafe! The taro latte was better than any I've ever had (and honestly cheaper than most coffee shops, too!) Super flavorful, and not to mention beautiful. My husband got a black sesame latte and said it was fantastic; a great, less sweet option. Service was helpful, because I do feel the menu placement is a little confusing (they still had up fall and winter menus in May, and I just wasn't sure what was available, etc). It's very minimalist and white based, which makes it feel open and airy. I would gladly sit and enjoy a coffee date there in the future! Happy to have this downtown! read more

I almost missed the entrance to the cafe (it's on the corner). Quite a few people were in this cozy cafe so I sat by the window. I ordered a hazelnut latte ( which was delicious) but next time I'll peruse the Yelp feed first because maybe I missed out on some really interesting drinks. read more

About a 2-2.5: Around Cafe is a small little corner cafe that offers coffee and espresso drinks, bubble tea, and little snacks (such as cookies and donuts). We came here to get some caffeine boost, and ordered a Butterscotch latte and a regular Mocha. Both drinks, while requested to be extra hot, were served warm; the coffee was more on the weak side, and you couldn't really taste the butterscotch. I think I should have tried their Sweet Cream Cold Brew, as that seems to be the drink that most patrons were ordering - darn! There were some tasty-looking individually-wrapped cookies by the cashier, and sometimes, donuts make an appearance. Service was friendly, and there was a handful of seating inside. I'm glad I was able to check this local cafe out, but not sure if I'd go out of my way to return. Plenty of street parking in the area. +warm, weak coffee +friendly service +street parking available read more

We like trying new coffee shops. Since we were going to be in Elk Grove Village, we decided to check out Around Cafe afterwards. It's located in quaint downtown Arlington Heights. It has a corner location, but there was a decent amount of street parking available on the Saturday that we went. The interior is tiny. There are a few small tables and one large table. They had a good selection of coffee and tea, and I believe they also had boba. They had some sweet treats, too, like donuts and cookies. Service was friendly, and pricing was very fair. We ordered a cappuccino and a caramel macchiato. The cappuccino had excellent foamed milk. The coffee base didn't seem like a true espresso, though. It was a large serving, so I feel it was more like an Americano with foamed milk. Still, it was decent. My wife thought the caramel macchiato was "standard". Not bad, but nothing special. read more

i came here because of the high ratings and because someone posted pictures of macaroons. unfortunately there were not any macaroons when i went ): i got the lavender latte. i did not particularly enjoy it. it tasted very earthy. almost like tea and coffee had a baby. i'm giving 4 stars because of the cute vibes in there. lots of plants. minimal seating, but looked like a cute place to do some work or study. bathroom was also clean. wish i would've gotten something else, if i'm ever in the area again i would try another drink. read more

After going out for brunch we drove pass this cafe and decided to stop by for a drink. We tried the masala chai, sweet tea, and dark latte. As well as not pictured the green grape. The green grape tasted like a green grape smoothie. It was nice and refreshing! I had the Taro Latte, this is by far one of my favorite lattes. It was light and creamy and the flavors were not overpowered by the milk as some lattes tend to be. You could actually tell it was a taro beverage, and it was SO GOOD! There a so many fun beverages on the menu, they also have seasonal beverages. Can't wait to come back and try some of the other seasonal drinks. :) read more

Someone suggested me this place. Location- at a very corner and I recommend to walk and they find because in car you will always miss this place. Ambiance- soothing and very simple place with regular stools and table. teenagers were sitting there and reading. when I went in there was no music. long line and menu board is not ccompletley visible from the place where you have to place order. Covid precautions - they have acrylic barriers at the counters. so thats a plus. Coffee- they DO not do boba with hot coffee or tea. That was strange to me. Because I love Boba in hot drink. Coffee tasted fine. I ordered lavender latte.Had a strong lavender taste which was good but has weird after taste. Cold coffee that my friend took was an average drink. Comments mentioned they have donuts. But they did not have any. read more

Really nice staff and really cute atmosphere. Had some of the best matcha I've had :)

It's really small and cramped, not a good layout in my opinion. It's hard to get good seating. I got the masala chai latte which was milky, and overly sweet. They didn't have coffee that day so perhaps I chose the wrong thing. Service was great and everyone was nice. read more

Last month I was in the area and I made a visit to Around Café. I was drawn to their Yelp page which had cute photos of macarons and wanted to try them out. I went midweek on a weeknight and had no wait since they had no line. I picked up two macarons in their display case. One looked like a crab. The crab was Nutella filled and the other was a peach flavored goldfish. I didn't want to leave with just macarons so I looked at their drink menu. I don't drink coffee often because I had a very bad experience at Starbucks. I drank their coffee once and got tummy troubles where I couldn't keep their coffee down so I stick with tea most of the time. Only this place and one other café shop in Indiana are where I can tolerate their coffee. I got myself a small caramel macchiato. Long story short it was amazing. No tummy troubles and I loved the rich flavor. On my next visit, I would love to pick up their Croffles and try their other coffee flavors. I would definitely come back if I was in the area. read more

We enjoy stopping into Around for coffee (or taro lattes!) and my daughters like their boba drinks. They also have delicious donuts/cookies. There are a few seating options within the cafe but we mostly take it to go. Overall, there is something for everyone! read more

With a loud, busy, and chaotic atmosphere, this coffee shop just sings out of key. Not only is a rowdy ambiance unappealing for a coffee shop, but it's also overstimulating for a small, tight, and compact space. Naturally, this would've been passable if we didn't wait at least ten minutes for two beverages that simply tasted like frothed up milk. We ordered the Latte and the Cappuccino; evidently, there was no distinction in taste. The Ube Toasted Coconut looked compelling, however it was a mere shame disappointment considering the flavor was the antithesis of Ube. Oddly enough, it tasted just like fruity pebbles; if I wanted to feel nostalgic of my childhood I would've just put on Cartoon Network on my TV. Although the staff was friendly, the amiability simply isn't enough to push my rating to three stars. read more

A small corner cafe with a rich menu of coffee and tea concoctions. A modern interior with earthy tone of rustic wood makes it cozy. We ordered hazelnut lattes with regular and almond milk. Delicious coffee and the cutest macarons :) My husband introduced me to this cafe a few years ago--he would take the metra to the Arlington Heights station, walk over sometimes to treat us to coffee, an ube donut, and an adorable macaron. We always enjoy seeing their selection each time for coffee beans, especially because we're fans of Dark Matter, Stumptown, and Gaslight. If you buy a bag of beans, they offer a free cup of coffee :) Their macaron designs also change delightfully. One time, my husband got a santa macaron for my mom, and she thought it was too cute that she couldn't eat it haha. Highly recommend this cafe for your coffee and macaron needs. read more
