Everyone working there looked so young that instead of wondering whether anyone was attractive, I started wondering when everyone's mother was coming to pick them up. One girl asked what flavor I wanted and I nearly replied, "Whatever people ate before you were born." This wasn't an ice cream run anymore. This was a mortality check. I entered Daisy's as a reasonably youthful man looking for dessert and walked out mentally pricing burial plots and wondering whether Costco sells Metamucil by the pallet. Fortunately, the ice cream was excellent... except for the non-sensical names. Besides the one labeled "smores" it was like trying to decide the enigma machine from WWII. If one can decipher the flavors... the ice cream is rich, creamy, enormous portions, exactly the kind of old-school neighborhood ice cream that makes you temporarily forget you've apparently become old enough to have employees serving you who don't remember a world before smartphones. They apparently close for the season, in October, so my next visit won't be until spring. There's a little park next to the building that provides the perfect space to eat your ice cream. I'm not sure if it's accessible--there are several steps, and it may simply be that I missed seeing the ramp. There's some parking along Pine here, and perhaps other streets in the area.
