Date night!!! Decided to go get dessert and a go to is Daisy's Ice Cream. There is always a long line but it goes pretty quickly, plus it gives you time to make a choice! There is both indoor and outdoor seating! Parking is easy! I selected the cinnamon roll sundae. Which is a cinnamon roll base with choice ice cream and toppings. Vanilla and chocolate syrup was my choice. The ice cream was rich and creamy was a good amount. The cinnamon roll was a bit disappointing, as the roll reminded me of boxed cinnamon rolls you would get at Costco. I was expecting a homemade roll. They have a lot of VERY cool memorabilia on the walls, which is worth a look no matter what. The staff are super helpful, but the store can get very busy, so have a little patience. The best part of this place is the ice cream, of course. They have a ton of really unique and delicious flavor combinations. Not all are obvious (what is "Exhausted Parent"? But once you know that it's Bourbon-spiked espresso ice cream swirled with bittersweet chocolate chunks, it makes total sense). So ask if you're not sure. So fun here--it's got retro vibes and a little bit of indoor seating as well as outdoor seating. There are kid scoops which are actually a very generous scoop haha--more than our kids could finish. What we got: - Mint Chocolate - Raspberry Rhapsody So good! There are some dark chocolate chunks in the raspberry rhapsody, so it's sweet without being overly sweet. The ice cream has a really nice thick, creamy consistency--it tastes like good quality ice cream and not like Hershey's or whatever brand you can purchase at the grocery store. A time-and-true neighborhood favorite! Daisy's always hits the spot with classic ice cream flavors that everyone loves. The regular ice cream is super creamy and delicious, and you can even customize it into a cookie sandwich which is a major win! Delicious ice cream! I stopped in for a treat yesterday and was very impressed by the ice cream and the employee working the counter! She seemed to be holding down the fort solo and there were four parties in line for ice cream (including me.) She wasn't ruffled, she just helped everyone in an efficient manner and got stuff done, kudos! I had the Kitty Kitty Bang Bang ice cream, which is Oreo cheesecake with raspberry swirl, and it was delicious! For the small, you still get a lot of ice cream (2 scoops.) The interior is themed to a cool music/record shop, with photos of posters on the wall and this groovy sign (see photo.) Daisy's serves the same brand/flavors as The Spot in Arlington Heights and Covered Bridge Creamery in Long Grove, along with a large menu of other sweet treats. Excellent premium ice creams here! All ice cream comes exclusively from a dairy shoppe in Wisconsin. It's been in business here for over 30 years. Cool decor and fun music playing. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy your ice cream bliss! They have a lot of neat flavors and fusions. Shakes, malts, cakes, pies, lava cake, a la mode, splits and sundaes. Since this was the first visit, We ordered the "Patsy" which consists of 4 scoops you select. Servers were ready to take our order and happy to serve! All flavors were very good, creamy with huge chunks of chocolate, nice ribbons of caramel, deep cocoa flavor and generous scoop portion. The vanilla could have used more flavor. It was flat tasting. Could have been just this batch? As this is premium ice cream, I would have liked to have seen some real vanilla bean flecks in the ice cream. read more

Independent ice cream place with about 16 choices of ice cream, a half-dozen sundaes, variations such as ice cream sandwiches, and some drinks. There are several board games and a few tables inside, and also several tables outside. During warm weather, the place is always crowded with a line out the door. Both were creamy in texture and had a good taste, but praline pecan definitely was the better one. I took a curious bite of it & even before I held the spoon to my mouth, I could smell the booze. Unfortunately my sister couldn't finish it, she found it too boozy for her liking. The "small" size is 2 scoops with your choice of cup, sugar cone, or cake cone. I got a small sugar cone with Heaps of Love and ZanZimint flavors. The Heaps of Love had tons of mix-ins: Oreo bits, caramel swirl, chocolate swirl, pecans. There was a Mint Avalanche flavor with Andes mints and chocolate swirl, but I chose the ZanZimint to try the Zanzibar chocolate flavor. A lot of places have stopped that because of covid but Daisy's has not. This was only our second time here so we tried the following ice cream: 1. Banana Split - you can pick what ice cream you would like but generally it comes with chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. Because they ran out of strawberry ice cream, they substituted it with espresso per our choice. They give plenty of chocolate sauce and pineapple preserves on top. They also will give nuts if you request it. 2. Coconut ice cream - very tasty and creamy with coconut shavings in it. 3. Peanut Butter Cookie Dough - also very good. 4. Lazy Susan - here you can pick 4 ice cream flavors and they give it to you in boat shaped plastic. 5. German Chocolate Cake - this is a nice chocolate ice with walnuts and coconut shavings. I have only been to this place post-COVID, so I don't know how it is like with people sitting inside, but the interior is decorated in a cute-retro style and has board games for people to play with. I love ordering the Lazy Daisy as it is 4 half-scoops of 4 flavors and it is perfect to share with one other person. Depending on the worker, the half-scoop is a lot bigger than you would think! At only $4.50, the Lazy Daisy is a STEAL. If you love a certain flavor, you can always ask them to make a pint for you to-go! For smaller appetites, they have kid sizes and single scoops for about $2-3 which is also a great deal. Their flavors rotate and you can ask for a certain flavor if you don't see it, they may have it in the back. My favorite flavors have been: Zanzibar chocolate, black cherry and pistachio.
