This is the absolute cutest little space for a coffee! I love it! Having just returned from Antalya, Turkey I can authenticate that this coffee is as Turkish as it can get! The grounds are still at the bottom of the cup and the flavor is deep and magnificent in a way that American coffee is decidedly not! Their pastries are just the right size for something sweet to offset the coffee experience and the service is friendly and conversational. Nice place and I'll be back regularly! read more

A friend wanted to try "Turkish Coffee" so off we went in search of it nearby. We found it on the menu of Two Libras, which is a "Euro-ish" coffee stop in an alley in downtown Palatine. They have a large selection of hot and cold drinks, smoothies, pastries, and a variety of "French-ish" sandwiches. On another visit, I'll order food, but today was all about coffee, and since I lived in the French enclave in the US, New Orleans, for an extended time, without glancing at the menu, I automatically asked for a cafe au lait, but the counter man had no idea what I was talking about. So it was cappuccino time, even tho it was past the taboo hour for ordering in Italy. It was perfect. As was the Turkish coffee. Note tho, my friend ordered non cow milk in her Turkish and there was a 75 cent upcharge for that. I'll return and dive into some of the sandwiches soon, which all sound interesting. Finally got a chance to come back and try some of the food. It was good! My husband and I shared a mocha latte--it was huge. Coffee was strong enough and not too weak, and it wasn't overly sweet! Just right. Would order it again. He got the croque madame and it had this lovely béchamel sauce. I got the prosciutto tartine and it was nice and savory paired with a sweet fig jam and balsamic, which gave it just the best sweet and salty combo. Felt like a huge portion too. Yes, a bit on the pricier side but I would say worth it. Definitely not too much table and seating though, so it's probably best to go during an off-time or order to go. I am absolutely obsessed with this cafe! My Meetup group met here for our monthly book club, and there was plenty of seating outdoors, with a few spots inside as well. You can rent out a private space in the cafe for meetings, which we had attempted to do, but no one ever responded to my inquiry ... hence the 4 out of 5 stars. Two Libras Cafe is tucked away on a quieter street with sidewalk seating during the warmer months, with parking right out front. I ordered the Mango Madness smoothie and the Smashed Avocado, both were fresh and tasted amazing. The presentation was on point and their cafe cups added to the aesthetic. OBSESSED with this mother and son owned cafe! Everything about it surpassed my expectations. To start - two libras cafe is well designed. It's modern, clean and has a lot of natural lighting. Seating is plentiful and comfy. The entire space is perfect for photo ops. If you're looking to huddle up with a laptop there are plenty of outlets at each table. Throughout my time there was music playing that wasn't too quiet or too loud. Parking is also easy, plentiful and FREE. This was my first time having turkish coffee and a burek. The son (I don't remember his name) informed me of how the coffee was made. He also let me know the spices will be plentiful towards the bottom and to be careful not to shot gun it towards the end, haha. The burek was DELICIOUS. I went with the cheese 1 and had it warmed up. The dough was fluffy and light while the cheese was creamy and rich. I really enjoyed this pastry and am looking forward to many more coffee outings here. read more

We all know I am a coffee lover! Well this past weekend, I had some friends in town and wanted to find a cute little place for us to all meet up! I absolutely did! Two Libras is the perfect spot for a friendly meet up, coffee date, or casual breakfast or lunch! Although I didn't try the food this time everything looked incredible as it was coming out to the other patrons! I am eager to go back so that I can try the food! That being said the coffee was magnificent. They offer almost every iteration you could think of of traditional coffee drinks and an abundance of flavors to add, if you're feeling adventurous! I absolutely loved the mugs that they use! You'll see them in my photos! There are several comfy two-person seating options. As well as a three seat high top table near the bakery case. There are also several two top seating options at tables and a small room in the back with a four top and an additional two top! There's lots of great outdoor seating too! The staff is super friendly and super accommodating and the overall Vibe is just very cozy and welcoming! I will definitely be coming back. New coffee shop/breakfast place that just opened last week! Cute little shop with nice decor. Would be a great place to work remotely, but when I came, it was pretty packed. People were eating sit-down breakfast foods there, which by the way looked SO good. I'm ready to come back another time to try their breakfast foods. The plated breakfast foods looked good enough for this to be considered a breakfast restaurant, but there aren't really enough tables. More of a small coffee shop/cafe setting. Ordering took a little bit of time, but I'm sure things will speed up once they get a hang of things (since they just opened up). My drink was made immediately though. Ordered an iced caramel macchiato with oat milk. Tasted great (I'd get it again). My only disappointment was with the addition of oat milk, it came out to be $2 more than it listed on the menu. I looked at my receipt, and apparently ice costs 50 cents too. I will definitely be back again to try their breakfast foods! read more

Two Libras not only checks the boxes for aesthetic "Insta-worthy" decor but they also have good coffee, and fresh, healthy, and delicious food items. Combinations like "brie, honey, grapes, orange, walnuts" and "tuna with bechamel sauce, cherry tomatoes, and basil" definitely piqued my interest. I had a hard time deciding what to get! I decided on the prosciutto di parma tartine, which is an open faced bread. I thought the flavors were delicious, and the side salad was a good addition to the salad. The latte that I ordered was huge, first of all, and pretty solid as far as coffee goes. I was curious about the bureks, but I definitely couldn't have finished one on my own. Service was friendly and prompt. We went on a Saturday morning, so it was understandably busy. The seating is quite packed together, but I was happy that we found a spot! I am all about trying to support independent small businesses but I have given this place two chances since it opened and no one should be waiting over twenty minutes for 2 basic coffees. Both times I waited forever. This time, our order receipt was tossed in the garbage, staff is frazzled and chaotic, I'm finally asked what i'm drinking after 20 minutes and I waited another 5 minutes for a mediocre cappuccino that tasted like milk. It's cute inside, I hope they do well, but they have major kinks to work out. I watched people waiting 15+minutes to receive a muffin on a plate. If you need to be somewhere, maybe wait a few months to try it so they get some sort of rhythm down. read more
