Banana and Nuts Caramel French Toast

While in Arlington Heights I stopped for breakfast. The cafe is tucked in a shopping center. For a Thursday morning we were seated right away and the food was served in a timely manner. Service was standard and the atmosphere was relaxing. I was disappointed with the cinnamon apple pancakes. My expectations were more of an apple pie filling on top of delicious pancakes, but nothing was reminiscent of apple pie and the pancake flavor was not great. The veggie omelette was alright and the banana nut caramel french toast was nothing extraordinary. There are too many other fine breakfast spots to return here.

Found this place on yelp and was not disappointed. From the moment we walked in staff was so nice and friendly. There are so many amazing options. I went with the sunrise Benedict and it was amazing. A little heavy on the hollandaise sauce but still delicious. And home fries were cooked perfectly. My bf had the lumberjack skillet and it was amazing. We also shared a crepe and a pecan banana pancake. Both were amazing. Strong coffee too. I wanted to try all the yummy mimosa options they have but it was too early. Definitely recommend this great breakfast spot.

The food is excellent and the service can't be beat. It's our new favorite breakfast place. And they're open for dinner Friday and Saturday. #iraeats #iraeats1

We had an eggcellent first visit to Eggcellence Cafe! From the good food and attentive service to the nice decor, this was the perfect place to grab a weekend brunch with a friend. The menu is pretty large, with lots of options for breakfast and lunch. I'll be back to try more!

Delish! I am a sucker for a good breakfast/ lunch cafe, and Eggcellence is just that. We came by for brunch on Sunday afternoon and the restaurant wasn't too crazy. There is plenty of parking as it is located in a strip nearby Tony's market. The restaurant has a super homey and cozy atmosphere. The other folks in the restaurant seemed to have been regulars and all recognized each other as they arrived. It was heart warming to see everyone so excited to eat and engage with the staff so fondly. For my meal I got the country Benedict, where it was a mix of eggs Benedict and biscuits and gravy, along with their breakfast hash. The gravy was light but super flavorful, and they cooked the egg to perfection where it was runny but was still cooked enough to not be enjoyable with every bite. It's been almost a week and I'm still thinking about our experience here and can't wait to come back. :) Love that it's so close to home, and am already planning another visit soon!

This popular location has a large menu of breakfast choices. I was sorely tempted by the breakfast panini special but went with biscuits and gravy instead. Portions are large and the food was solid with nothing to complain about. The fiance loved her cream of chicken with rice soup. The chicken bacon ranch wrap was large and tasty, half of it had to go home to be finished later. Mother-in-law ordered strawberry pancakes and they were big and fluffy and she dug into it enthusiastically. Half of this went home with us, too. It's a lot of food. Staff was friendly, prices are average. Decor is typical diner decor. Good place for weekend brunch.

visited on a monday and there were about 5 other parties there. when we entered, we had to wait a bit as there wasn't a host available. shortly after, we were told to sit anywhere we'd like. i ordered the corn beef hash skillet with scrambled eggs and pancakes while my husband got the meat lover's skillet with sunny side up eggs and pancakes and a mocha. my skillet was delicious! i loved the texture of the potatoes. and the temperature was perfect. i honestly think i would prefer this without any eggs. the pancakes were light and fluffy - just like any other place so nothing too special. our server was very friendly and checked in with us often. overall, a great experience! the bill came out to $40 (without tip included) so a little pricy for breakfast food but I would still come back.

Strawberry Cinnamon Swirl French Toast & Corn Beef Hash Skillet

Just disappointing. There is no good flavor to the food. Everything was soggy. Asked for the hash well done and it was barely cooked. They didnt give us our fruit. Pretty sure they forgot to make our order because I waited 15 min past the original pick up time. One of the hostesses was really nice. But it was dead in there. Probably for good reason

This place is a great example of what a brunch spot needs to be. Great service with the staff being so attentive. I ordered the Country Style Skillet and a cup of coffee. The food came out in probably 10 minutes and was hot and delicious. If you are hungry and looking for a quick meal this is a great breakfast place. See you next time!

The place is pretty expensive as well. The menu is decent for choices with lots of different choices frankly. What I don't like about the menu is that with some of the orders it literally only comes with one sausage link, which I thought was weird and it doesn't even give you the option for Patty or an option for more sausage links in the order you have to order it on the side. When the dishes came, it was also weird was that the bacon was as thin as paper so that was really a letdown hence part of the four stars. Our waitress though was absolutely fantastic very attentive. She did forget a couple things but that's OK. It was a hectic morning. I don't mind that and it doesn't bother me. The pancakes are delicious. Definitely do not taste like overly floured, which is great. I would come back, however I will also say that the Arlington Heights area has a lot of brunch breakfast places, and in order to stay relevant you have to be competitive and really up your game whether it's on the food quality the location the service something that really makes you stand out ahead above the rest.

Then Nevi appeared. Good God. Every civilization has one person capable of making you briefly forget your own name. Nevi was that person. She looked like the sort of woman who could convince a jury to acquit you of crimes you'd actually committed. As a waitress? Adequate. She took the order. She brought iced tea. She never once inspired me to write poetry about customer service. She wasn't bad, just operating under the unfortunate handicap of looking like she belonged in a magazine instead of carrying breakfast to hipsters with too much disposable income. The chicken and waffles arrived looking like they'd been designed by a committee of Southern grandmothers with a complete disregard for cholesterol or moderation. The chicken shattered under the fork with a glorious crunch that echoed across the room like a rifle shot at dawn. Juicy inside. Properly seasoned. No gimmicks. The waffles were exactly what waffles should be: sturdy enough to support a reckless amount of syrup without collapsing into emotional ruin. However... their syrup suuuuucked! I needed the godd**n jaws of life to get it out of the bottle as it limply drizzled in my waffle at the speed of molasses. The chicken & waffles though? Together they formed one of those rare culinary alliances... Just excellent fried chicken sitting confidently on an excellent waffle, as nature intended. Meanwhile, Nevi drifted through the dining room causing minor traffic accidents in the peripheral vision of every man under eighty. If she'd also been an exceptional waitress, there would've been riots. Five stars. Nevi was worth briefly reconsidering my life choices.
