Gerry's Cafe is such a wonderful addition to the area! The staff is friendly and so welcoming! I walked in and was greeted right away with a nice handshake and warm welcome! What a way to be to greeted! There are so many options available from just regular coffee, crafted lattes and blended coffee drinks, to teas of all types, and even lemonades and hot chocolate! That's not the only highlight here - the baked goods is DELICIOUSLY ADDICTIVE! My favorites are the cinnamon scone, oatmeal chocolate chip cookie, M&M cookie, and the pumpkin scone. There's also breakfast sandwiches as well as lunch sandwiches! I love the Big Ed Sandwich - double-bacon layered between our roasted turkey, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, dressed with buttermilk ranch, fresh greens on toasted sourdough. It was not a skimpy sandwich either, I had 1/2 at lunch and the other 1/2 for dinner! The most beautiful thing about Gerry's Cafe is that exceptional individuals with intellectual disabilities are employed here and I've never had better experience anywhere else!

My sister and I went to breakfast here this morning (3/1/25) and enjoyed a chai latte and a vanilla oat latte (thank you for carrying milk alternatives!!) with a Wakey Wakey Eggs and Bakey and Papa Nicholas sandwiches- and we were in love! The staff welcomed us with open arms and service was so friendly! We were welcomed as soon as we walked in the door, and made sure to wish us a good day when we left. The establishment was so clean and bright making it a very welcoming atmosphere as well. We will be returning and sharing with friends so they can come visit! FYI - this is a cashless establishment, card only. But we were perfectly fine with that! :) Thank you Gerry's Cafe crew!

I ordered a latte, breakfast sandwich, and a cookie. Everything was delicious!! The cookie was loaded with chocolate. The team members that served me had a little banter about what was available on the menu, which was helpful. Then the barista shared some history with me about the cafe and mentioned that she had Down's syndrome, like the namesake of the cafe. Great food and great staff!!

When I heard about the concept for Gerry's Cafe, I was excited and wanted to support the restaurant. I got the opportunity to go the other day, and I was very impressed by the service and the level of professionalism shown. I ordered the hot dark chocolate and the Big Ed sandwich (turkey and bacon on sourdough bread). My mother came with me and ordered the grilled cheese sandwich. Both sandwiches were really good and use high quality ingredients. The food and drinks cost a little more, but it goes to support a good cause, so I was happy to pay a little extra. For dessert, I ordered a chocolate chip cookie and an apple cider duffin. These desserts were moist and flavorful. I highly recommend Gerry's Cafe and wish then many years of success!

A hard-working staff and really nice menu, which includes a variety of drinks, pastries, sandwiches and more! Alison did a great job taking my order and double checking that all the details were correct. I love having a new coffee shop in the area, and love that it's a nonprofit. Wishing Gerry's Cafe and it's employees lots of success!

It's natural to worry about the future when you're a parent. When you have a child with special needs, it's a whole different ballgame. Don't know what exactly the future holds for our son, but seeing people create opportunities in our town feels so good. I had a pumpkin latte (better than Starbucks!) and our kids had some bakery items-- they were all delicious! The menu has a ton of things to choose from and a great variety. Celebrate neurodiversity and support Gerry's Cafe, Brewing Opportunities. A lot of potential future employees are counting on you

I revisited when I had a bad experience with house hippo not sure if they changed their chefs or recipe but it was a bad experience across several slices I purchased that day. Long story short I enjoyed the slices here quite a bit and even found their matcha cake tasting better than house hippo's the grade of matcha is higher quality as well. I would say the Kahlua, Tiramisu and the Matcha are among my favorite slices so far, they are glorious with a nice cup of tea and not so sweet that I regret eating a slice and can even consider going for a 2nd. Their crepe I would say is better than Hippo's also, but pastry house hippo had the best chocolate and unique cheese cake I have ever tried. This place does offer unique slices I can't find elsewhere in their own right and will find me as a repeat customer for those slices and the lack of crowds at mitsuwa is another bonus. Cons: When boxed wax paper for each individual cake is not present, which helps when taking the cake out of the box without having to grab the cake.

We recently diverged from our usuals and tried the sando with pork katsu. It had some shredded vegetable and ketchup-base sauce. I am indifferent to it but I am not opposed to trying the other savory items. We have gone on different days and times over the years. The shelves are almost always well-stocked. Sometimes we would have a brief wait for them to replenish the raisin bread loaves but it is the mister's favorite so it is worth it. This has been my routine for decades, yet I just realized that I had never actually left a rating for it. What makes this bakery especially appealing is its soft, airy, and smooth bread and buns, which are handmade using ingredients sourced directly from Japan. My personal favorite is the red bean bun. While my sister loves their sandwiches and milk bread, which has an incredibly soft, fluffy, and moist texture. All of their bread and buns are made fresh daily. Many years ago, they even allowed their staff to take home any unsold sandwiches and bread at the end of the day! With increasing competition from newer Korean and Taiwanese bakeries, I hope Pastry House Hippo continues to stay competitive. As a self-serve bakery, it would be nice if the buns were individually wrapped, something many other bakeries already do, to help prevent contamination from careless customers. My most recent visit was on the second day of the new year, and I was happy to see the shop bustling with customers. I hope this little bakery continues to thrive for many years to come.

They offer fresh bread that they can slice for you when you order, or you can take it home unsliced. The staff is extremely friendly and patient while taking your order, and they never make you feel rushed, even when there's a line of customers.
