Peggy Kinnane's is basically what you think of when thinking of suburban Irish pub. As in not all that authentic. The atmosphere is okay if liking loud soccer moms and yuppies who fled for suburbs. Came in early enough when it wasn't crowded. It's got plenty of seating including at the bar so we sat at it. There's also a patio open in the spring to fall on a busy street. Gets loud. The street is crowded with other patios. Has lots of appropriate beers. It's about $8 a pint. These include Smithwick's. It's about $17 for an entree. That sucks. Has a few healthier choices. I got the Superfood Wrap. Big one. Filled with black bean patty, cilantro, corn, guacamole, jasmine rice, peppers, and quinoa. Certainly the rest of the menu is meaty. There's lamb medallions among the classic options. Got to say it's okay but is basic. It's located in the busy area on Vail at Campbell. The prices are pretty high for being a basic place.

The trivia takes place around their bar and there is plenty of seating and you can hear the host clearly. I've had their salads and pizzas and both are good. Their peanut butter hamburger is a must try. For dessert, I recommend the cookie skillet. Their servers are nice and friendly. This truly is a local bar. There is memorabilia from the village of Rolling Meadows and Rolling Meadows High School all over the place. I recommend Rep's Place.

We arrived at 4:30 and snagged the last table in the very small dining area. The bar was pretty full, too. As we ate, a line began to form at the door for people waiting for tables. We probably would have stayed longer and eaten a little more fish if not for the number of people standing basically right behind us waiting to eat. All-you-can-eat is a great offer, but with only a handful of tables inside, it's probably not the best business strategy. And honestly, the plate had a good amount of food on it, so we didn't *need* more anyway. Kilcoyne's is tiny and has a better menu than I'd expect for what seems like a dive bar. I'd try the fish fry again, or maybe something else from the menu. However, I would not be willing to stand in the crowded doorway waiting for a table.
