The cod was tasty and came with mixed veggies, coleslaw and a choice of fries, tater tots or red potatoes. I chose the potatoes and really enjoyed them. We arrived at 4:30 and snagged the last table in the very small dining area. The bar was pretty full, too. As we ate, a line began to form at the door for people waiting for tables. We probably would have stayed longer and eaten a little more fish if not for the number of people standing basically right behind us waiting to eat. All-you-can-eat is a great offer, but with only a handful of tables inside, it's probably not the best business strategy. And honestly, the plate had a good amount of food on it, so we didn't *need* more anyway. Kilcoyne's is tiny and has a better menu than I'd expect for what seems like a dive bar. I'd try the fish fry again, or maybe something else from the menu. However, I would not be willing to stand in the crowded doorway waiting for a table.

Served with a sweet bun whipped butter and a tart coleslaw. The batter is wonderful, better than tempura . I asked the bartender perch or cod, hands down he ordered perch. It's wonderful. I can't get enough of that batter. That's all you can eat. I just ordered one platter and my boyfriend who hardly eats kept eating off my plate, but they're still plenty for two people with only one portion. I have to come back when I'm off on Fridays. It's really good neighborhood local bar if you like fried perch come here on Friday.

The Yelp reviews were mostly five stars, and it was touted to be a locals' favorite, so we decided to give it a try. We both chose the patty melt with a cup of vegetable soup. The soup sounded like an excellent choice on this cold cloudy day. The food, the service and the ambience were all wonderful. We finished off the meal sharing a slice of hot peach pie with vanilla bean ice cream. It was all fantastic.

Established (as the wall told me) in 1936, I expected "Polish" to be in menu alone...and I was wrong. The gal behind the bar had an accent. Halfway through the Bears game, I started hearing folks concerning and cheering in Polish. I felt like I had slipped into a cool little club to which I would never have otherwise been invited. Loud (but not too loud) and boisterous. I read some other reviews talking about rude regulars: rubbish. Chicago is loud and direct. If you don't like that vibe, the shoulders in this city may just be a little too broad for you. The pierogi and the pyzy were great, both served with sour cream. The beers, while not draft, had a wide, Euro-leaning selection but still respected some local favorites (Old Style). Good food. Good folks. Confusingly brilliant ambiance. You're missing out if you skip The Log Cabin.

Service was just average as they were training a few new staff members which was somewhat confusing. They offer a Happy Hour from 3-6 so we took advantage of a few beer specials and appetizers. They have a nice beer menu . I tried a few of their lagers which were pretty good . The cheese curds were very good. I tried their Award Winning wings which are smoked and then flash fried . I was able to get half of them with Mango Habanero and half with Sweet and Spicy . I asked for more of the Sweet and Spicy sauce and was surprised they charged me extra! My wife had the Half Day Chopped Salad which was good but loaded with Pepperoni and way too much dressing. Suggestion..order the dressing on the side! They do charge a 3% credit card surcharge. For some good beers and a casual Brewpub experience, give Half Day a visit.

There were four in our party and I had made reservations but it was pretty empty for a Friday night. Beer selection was good as expected. The decor is typical of a brewery. Our waiter was training someone new so the service was slow and lacking continuity. Had to ask three times for a glass for the Nutrl drink. Not many gluten free options so I ordered the Half Day Chopped Salad. It was drowned in dressing and there were more than a dozen pepperocini which is ridiculous even though I like them I don't want a half a jar! My friend ordered the happy hour one topping pizza and was told that no she couldn't have the margarita pizza but only sausage or pepperoni even though the margarita is cheaper on the regular menu. It looked like terribly cheap sausage. My other friend was really happy with the vegan panini and it looked really good. My husband loves wings saucy so he asked for a bit on the side. Be aware that it is an extra charge. He has had an upset stomach ever since he ate them. Seems like the smoked wings were not cooked long enough? Also they automatically charge a 3% surcharge to the bill. Next time we will choose another restaurant when in this area as one good out of three dishes is not very good.

I scanned the QR code and went to the bathroom. As I walked back there, I noticed there were 4 open spots at the bar and there were 6 2-top tables set up, which was confusing because there was a 45 minutes wait. Walking back from the bathroom I thought I would ask the bartender if the seating at the bar was also reserved by through the waitlist. I walked up ( did not attempt to sit down as that part of the bar was not clean) and the bartender started rudely saying "have you spoken to the host " I said yes but I had a question, and she continuously said " you have to speak to the host." I told her that I just had a question for her then she rudely said again "sometimes we use this as seating so-rry." My partner and I decided to leave after that. I had never been treated that way in my life. I open my mouth to say something and I couldn't because I was rudely interrupted. I felt like I was hurried out of the area. After being here countless times before and exploring the menu with friends and family, I don't think I will ever come back as this left a bad taste in my mouth. It's hard to go back when you feel you were discriminated against. My partner and I felt like we were that night as the attitudes and behaviors from the bartender and hostess were rude.

Our waitress checked on us numerous times and kept things going. The food is where I have to say, this place was OK. There are a lot of vegetarian options, so that is a great start for me and my crew. Pizza, black bean burgers, etc. I think the nachos were pretty decent. One main ingredient I'd say they were missing was beans, guac, or even salsa. I guess we could have asked for some, but we didn't. Then we had a hummus platter, which came with a bunch of dipping veggies and some pita bread. Nicely presented, and the hummus was fine. The margarita pizza was decent as well. Crispy and all. And finally, the black bean burger, which we substituted in for the El Diablo burger. It was fine. We didn't leave any room for dessert as all of the above was already a LOT. Again, overall fun times.
