Love the happy hour specials here, especially for an after work social event. The server was great except she didn't get us the waters we asked for and she missed the southwest egg rolls so we just cancelled the order. The beers on tap were great and I enjoyed the Thunder Peel, but it should've been served in an ice cold glass. It felt closer to room temperature than the refreshing experience it should have been. Thursday night is also live music night, which isn't bad... if you came for music. But if you wanted to hang with the crew and talk, live music is not compatible. Came here for their Tuesday bingo night. Bingo is in their very large bar area. Unfortunately, the audio equipment is not strong enough for such a large area. Very difficult to hear over the sports games, people talking, and generally bad acoustics in the bar. Service was average. Nothing bad, but nothing outstanding. I ordered the nachos ($16.00). The menu stated that they came with chips, chicken, black beans, queso sauce, and pico de gallo. When they arrived at my table, they were covered in jalapeno peppers (some round slices and some whole peppers cut length-wise). I flagged down the staff member who brought them to me and mentioned that wasn't part of the menu description. He looks puzzled as to what I wanted him to do. Umm...remake them entirely. We stopped in on a Friday night before seeing a show at Marriott Lincolnshire which is very close. We had a reservation but really didn't need it as they have dining room,bar and patio seating. Service was just average as they were training a few new staff members which was somewhat confusing. They offer a Happy Hour from 3-6 so we took advantage of a few beer specials and appetizers. They have a nice beer menu . I tried a few of their lagers which were pretty good . The cheese curds were very good. I tried their Award Winning wings which are smoked and then flash fried . I was able to get half of them with Mango Habanero and half with Sweet and Spicy . I asked for more of the Sweet and Spicy sauce and was surprised they charged me extra! They were kind enough to host a mixed table during the Packers-Bears playoff game. Unfortunately the food was mixed reviews too. Our end loved the pizza, especially the crust, the blackened shrimp tacos and the spicy chicken panini. The wings were so good that a usually kind-hearted friend refused to let anyone else have a bite. The other end of the table wasn't as pleased. ‍ There is a ton of space inside- I was kind of expecting a giant projector screen at the end of the bar but there are just a lot of normal screens. They offer $7 select apps, $11 one topping pizza or wings, $5 Half Day Drafts, and $5 Nutrl Vodka Seltzers. Portions come as the standard size even with the discounts. I tried both the Cheese Curds and Southwest Chicken Rolls. The Cheese Curds were served with a chipotle ranch & sweet salsa and were perfectly melty. The Southwest Chicken Rolls also came with the chipotle ranch. The inside had a subtle spice and was packed with other ingredients than just the chicken. I had very mixed feelings about this place. It was conveniently located near Marriott Lincolnshire where we were seeing a musical later that evening. We arrived for happy hour. There were four in our party and I had made reservations but it was pretty empty for a Friday night. Beer selection was good as expected. The decor is typical of a brewery. Our waiter was training someone new so the service was slow and lacking continuity. Had to ask three times for a glass for the Nutrl drink. Not many gluten free options so I ordered the Half Day Chopped Salad. It was drowned in dressing and there were more than a dozen pepperocini which is ridiculous even though I like them I don't want a half a jar! My friend ordered the happy hour one topping pizza and was told that no she couldn't have the margarita pizza but only sausage or pepperoni even though the margarita is cheaper on the regular menu. It looked like terribly cheap sausage. My other friend was really happy with the vegan panini and it looked really good. My husband loves wings saucy so he asked for a bit on the side. Be aware that it is an extra charge. He has had an upset stomach ever since he ate them. Seems like the smoked wings were not cooked long enough? Also they automatically charge a 3% surcharge to the bill. Next time we will choose another restaurant when in this area as one good out of three dishes is not very good. read more

I met a friend here for dinner and happy hour right after work. When we arrived at 5:00 on a Wednesday, the place was pretty quiet, but tables began to fill up over the next hour. Our server was attentive and the menu offered lots of options, including salads, sandwiches, entrees and more. I really want to like this place. The space is huge and inviting. The beer is absolutely terrific! The IPA choice on tap was huge and they tasted great. The food however needs work and I sincerely hope it changes for the better. I don't think I have ever had a pizza so lacking in flavor and tasting as if it was a bad frozen pizza which I know it wasn't as they have their own pizza oven? Things they need to improve: 1. Make the crust crispy not limp and soggy like we had. Either add more yeast to the dough and or use "00" flour which is best for pizza crust and turn up the heat in the oven to insure crispness; 2. Use pizza sauce not just plain unflavored tomato sauce. If you use plain tomato sauce at least add oregano and basil. Lastly, use a bit less sauce as the pizza crust will crisp up better.; 3. The sausage was taste less! Did they use just plain unseasoned ground pork instead of sausage? Please buy some decent sausage with some flavor; and 4. Change the cheese. This cheese has no flavor and no cheese pull. You need to upgrade the quality and use a decent mozzarella cheese. Implementing the above and making certain your pizza oven is hot enough will result in delicious pizza. We need you to change your pizza and make it tasty! The southwestern egg rolls did have flavor but could use some crunch inside? The outside was nice and crust but the inside a bit mushy? We will be back to Half Day Brewing to try the burgers, salads, and perhaps the cheese curds all of which looked tasty on another table. Please, please, change your pizzas - you have a great pizza oven and just need to change up the ingredients and blast up the temperature on that oven so it makes a crispy crust! read more

The bar is large, with lots of high tops. I didn't know there were two entrances, we entered by the bar so I didn't see the dining area. I was expecting a small taproom, in the same vein as other local breweries. I was not expecting this to be a full pub-like setup. I came here randomly because I was in the neighborhood and saw a sign for a vinyl show, so I was curious and decided to make a stop. I didn't order any food because I wasn't planning to go anywhere for lunch, so I can't speak to the food/wait service element. But, the place is huge, and the vinyl show/sale was a fun event in the back room. It worked well as a venue for that purpose. They also have an extensive beer menu (both their own, and surprisingly, even other breweries that they have on their guest taps.). They really have something for everyone (including root beer for a non-alcoholic option). I'd love to come back sometime for a proper visit and meal if I'm in the Lincolnshire area. read more

Good local brewery out of the way in Lincolnshire but worth getting some beers and food. Half Day gets its name because it's on Half Day Road. It looks like a pretty new building, so it's not a dive to be sure. Actually it seems like a pretty classy place, but casual. The prices are okay on beers, and some of the food isn't crazy pricy. Beers are the main thing of course. It's about $6 a pint. That's not bad considering it's a craft brewery in a suburb. Has a good variety to choose from. There's the Cherry Vanilla Sour. Has a bit of a tart taste, but it's not too much and it has a strong cherry flavor. The food is more of an afterthought but there's a few options. Among these is the Roasted Garlic Hummus. It's about $11 so it's on the expensive side. But it's a big portion. This comes with celery, cucumbers, focaccia, puréed garlic, and olive tapenade. Check this out for some good beers. It's not a big list of house selections but there's a nice variety to choose among these. The food is kind of expensive but whatever. read more

They probable sat on the counter too long. - the side salad was ok, nothing spectacular but also not bad. - the BLT was under-average, a lot of mayonnaise and not very tasty . It came with chips that also were heavily oversalted and some weren't crusty The service was ok this time (not awesome but better than several times before). I found it not ok that their online menu has no prices (and the waiter also had no prices). This place would have an awesome location but their food is under average. First impression: happy to get a reservation at 6 PM on a Saturday night for six people. Surprised that we could, maybe that should've been a sign of things to come? Be careful driving in the parking lot, especially if it's dark outside the potholes will absolutely eat your Vehicle. I would be embarrassed to have my business open with that parking lot. The first thing my wife said when we walked in the door is wow, this place is messy, and dirty. No hostess to see us, the bartender finally came around and greeted us and had to go find somebody to seat us. The restaurant was only at about 25% capacity, we knew immediately something was wrong. My son had been here with his friends many times before and said that they've sat at the bar and had beer and appetizers and it was really good. I think they've got the brewery part down pat! The waitress was sporadically attentive, but as we engaged in a lot of conversation at the table, her attention went to other customers. We finally placed drink orders got some recommendations, got the drinks, which everybody was very happy with. They have some great beers here, folks! Took quite a while to get her back and get her food order placed. The wait for the food wasn't too long, but the one appetizer we ordered came out with the food, not beforehand, and they totally forgot the second appetizer. the one appetizer we didn't get was the most god-awful looking plate of nachos I've ever seen. It looked like somebody had literally scooped up a combination of olives, refried beans, jalapeños, and cheese, and thrown them on a bunch of chips with an ice cream scoop. On top of that or maybe 10 pieces of sliced chicken that looked terrible, gray color, thin sliced, looked more like pork tenderloin...very unappetizing. We didn't eat half of that mess. Of the six meals that we got one main entrée was hot and pretty tasty, that was the fish and chips. But really, only the fish was delicious, the fries were soggy and cold. My son had a chicken wrap, he said it was barely warm and barely edible, just a mess to eat. My wife's carnitas tacos were devoid of any sort of garnish, absolutely dry, served in cold, hard shell corn tortillas that definitely just came out of an Ortega box. Other guests had a margarita pizza, which she deemed awful, and she works for a pizza restaurant company. The most boring bowl of mac & cheese I've ever laid my eyes on. It was literally just mac & cheese like you would buy in the grocery store. No additions, no breadcrumbs, no green onions, no bacon, no sausage, no anything. Lastly, one of the diners ordered a side salad with their meal. Instead, they brought out a full entrée salad that wasn't even close to what she wanted. After three or four bites, she sent it back and again said I want a plain side salad and they brought out a different full dinner plate salad, just unbelievable and comical. The only saving grace for this restaurant was their brewery. Their selections were all great! This review is based off of a private event. The staff did a great job of keeping up with the chaos - there was about 150 - 200 people at this event and I constantly had a drink in my hand. The employees were very friendly and I could see/hear them asking if anyone needed a drink/anything else. This is a fairly large establishment with lots of seating and standing areas. I mostly stayed by the back bar area and outside. Their outdoor patio is gorgeous - there's a few fire pits and lots greenery. It felt very zen and was a prefect place to get some fresh air. For food I tried the bbq chicken, cheese curds and had salad. My favorites were the cheese curds - the batter was great but the cheese pull is where it's at, haha! For drinks I got the John Collins, which is a gin based cocktail. It's decent - simple and refreshing. I also tried their Lincolnshire Pilsner and cupcake beer. I preferred the cupcake beer over the Pilsner - unique and not a type of beer I've had before, it was tasty and not too hoppy. I really enjoyed myself here and I'd come back to try out more of their craft beer! Definitely will order the cupcake beer again too =) read more

My husband and I came by for dinner one night after work and decided to try a few different items. When we first walked in, we waited by the hostess stand for about 10 minutes before being seated as there was a sign that says we needed to wait. After waiting the hostess told us to just sit at the bar anyways which we were totally fine with. Our server came by eventually and took our order. It was kind of awkward to see all of the servers sit there talking and overhearing that a few of them don't want to be there or service their tables. Our food came out rather quickly. We decided to start with cheese curds, of which were delicious! I had the wings while by husband had the burger. We also saw the mango and Brie quesadilla to try and that was incredible!! The wings were Buffalo wings and the menu says they were award winning, but were a bit salty to my liking. For my husbands burger we ordered it medium rare but it ended up coming out well done. All in all, the food was decent but the service left little to be desired. The fusions are... mm just ok. I thought the food was overall well made, but husband didn't like the style. It is pretty expensive for the quality and quantity. It's just a lot of carbs. Fries were too salty. The chips were heavily seasoned but the seasoning doesn't have much taste. The sauces for the chips were decent but pretty heavy. The prime rib sliders were OKish, you'd have to put the pickles in yourself and add the sauce yourself which is fine I prefer DIY. The pickle has a more sweet flavor than straight sour, so reminds me of Asian flavor profile. Overall, I think it's a bit too expensive for the food it offers, but I can see how these are good bar food. read more

Discovered this place a couple months ago. I like that it's close to home. I love that they make their own beer. I've tried the Ela smoothie and the spirit walk. Both were very good. Food wise, we ordered the season potato chips with dip which comes with a cream cheese type of dip and cheese. Whatever the cream cheese was it was very good. The space is large and had good selection of beer. We got seated at the bar because we put our name in for the outdoor patio. It was a very busy Friday evening, especially being short staffed. However, the bartenders were attentive and checked in a couple times. We closed our tab to get seated outside, and the server we had was friendly and definitely did her best. We didn't mind that she was busy, and it never felt like she forgot about us. For the particular customers that we encountered during our time there, the servers put up with a lot of BS- I honestly commend them. Okay, now onto the food- it was above average bar food.
