The bartender was incredibly confused acting and then she said it is against their policy to sell or give a customer a glass of water. She was incredibly rude and I find this hard to believe that they would treat anyone like this at the end of a very hot day. I am what they call a midget or a very short man so it is only natural to assume that she probably has a racism against those type of people. Anyone regardless of their race or Creed should not be denied a glass of water from such an establishment. I usually drink one beer leave it tip and leave within an hour why would they treat a customer like this?

Some street parking available out front and on adjacent streets or fairly close to the Highwood train station. The space is quaint, but well decorated with loosely art deco, higher end finishes! Our bartender was very friendly and responsive to our requests! We both ordered the Smoked Old Fashioned, which came in an elaborate and entertaining display! The cocktail was delightfully sippable and lived up to the value. I'd absolutely order it again! A perfect spot to grab a cocktail and catch up with friends or wind down after a long day!

The guy left with my card and the person working - who said he's actually the owner - didn't seem too fazed by it and really struggled to figure out what to do, even bringing other customers into it who were a bit over the top. Something like this can't happen every time, but for us when it happened it wasn't even that crowded. It was so weird, as was the reaction. Try the place at your own expense. I grew up in Highland Park and was always hanging out in Highwood, and I wish this place existed…read morewhen I grew up. A lounge with a wall of vinyl that you can select from and have the proprietor play for you is just a really cool idea and I'm amazed that more places don't offer this type of nostalgia. There is a tiny bar up at the front that the owner sells water, sodas (bottles and cans) and alcohol. There is a menu of drinks available that the owner can make for you or that he has available in bottles and cans. There is no food available, but you are allowed to bring in your own. There is a small private room to set up a table of food, place some tabletop games and listen to the music, host a meeting, have small gatherings or other type of event. They do offer different events in the main room and for the birthday I attended there; karaoke was then offered later that night. It seems there are some regulars who turn out for that so it's definitely a great neighborhood spot for regulars and newcomers alike. They also offer some board games and party games to make the your time there a lot more enjoyable with fun games, great music, and good vibes. I can't wait to visit again.

I ordered the Tinto de Verano, and it was really good. It was a bit strong and reminded me of a sangria. For tapas, we got the #21 shrimp dish, which was packed with flavor. The combination of sauces and spices paired perfectly with the shrimp. We also ordered the #35 calamari, which was equally delicious. The calamari was light and airy, and the accompanying sauces added even more flavor. We also shared the patatas bravas, which were crispy and had a nice little kick to them. Overall, the food was excellent, the service was attentive, and the atmosphere was really enjoyable. I'd definitely come back to try more dishes!

First of all, I could not make reservations because apparently they don't take it for less parties…read moreof four people. So we came here on a random Friday night to test our luck to get a table at 7 o'clock for two people. We got lucky and got to sit inside because that's where we wanted to sit although they do have sidewalk or outdoor seating as well. I thought sitting inside would be cooler, but I was wrong as all the doors and windows were open and I don't believe the AC was on at all. Well, the menu is pretty extensive. I will say that a vegetarian could definitely eat here as well as anyone else. This is our first visit here and as you can tell from the photos ordered quite a bit of food. And typical top of style the portions are pretty small, but they are meant to be shared. It was actually too much food for two people who were already hungry. Some of the standouts were definitely the meatballs and the salad salads. The jamon iberico was absolutely incredible. Not pictured was the picture of sangria we ordered. We got the rosé and to be quite honest with all of the heat. It actually watered down way too quickly. And it also came in a plastic picture, which was a bit of a turn off. The shrimp with garlic was good, but the garlic was hard to taste because it was also covered or doused in a lot of tomato base or tomato sauce. I was really looking forward to a very clear buttery or olive oil sauce that was saturated with garlic. The mushrooms were OK as well, but again too much tomato in this dish that I'm not used to. The potatoes were also very tasty and well seasoned, and the sauce on it was just right. I think this is a good option for people who want top us in the suburbs however, I will say that I hope they do some tweaking to the recipes as well so that they have something that truly makes them stand out and unique.
