My wife and I had dinner here the other night before catching a movie at the theater down the street. It's a sizable place with two big rooms. When you enter, there's a host stand to your right and a bar area to your left. We sat in the dining area on the right side of the restaurant. There's an initial door to enter from the outside and then there's a door behind the host stand that opens into the dining room, but was propped open. The problem with propping this door open was that every time someone walked in or out of the restaurant, a cold breeze blew through the dining room and chilled us. People were sitting in their jackets. We told our server that we were catching a movie as she took our orders. Our food came out quickly and was very good. My wife got the turkey burger and I ordered the blackened chicken sandwich. We both got fries. We both liked our sandwiches very much as both were very tasty. Our server refilled my soda a couple times and checked on us after we had a couple bites of our meals (which is unheard of nowadays as most servers I have come across ask me about my meal as I'm finishing it). Five stars from me for Blackfinn Randhurst Grill. We went here for dinner on a Monday night and were seated instantly, not too crowded inside and not too loud either. Plenty of sports games were playing on the numerous TV's inside the bar area in addition to a massive beer list. We were waited on by a wonderful server named Jasmine that provided excellent service. We tried the calamari appetizer which was very good and a decent portion size for three people. For my entree, I had the shrimp stir fry which was awesome, very fresh and great flavor and good portion size. The prices of everything were very reasonable for dining in. Well I droppped off my car @ Discount Tire & went in search of somewhere to grab a meal After some searching in the dead Randhurst Mall I saw Blackfinn Randhurst Grill. After going in I perused the menu looking for something besides a burger or salad. I almost went w/the fish & chips. The server brought fish tacos to the table next to me. They looked so good I had to order them too. The tacos were outstanding grilled haddock w/cabbage, avocado, red peppers and a jalapeño aioli sauce on 2 corn tortillas. EXCELLENT BLEND OF INGREDIENTS. Our table ordered 2 Bourbon Bugers and 1 pasta with chicken. We all tried the pasta and it was incredible. The Bourbon Burgers tasted like McDonald's Big Macs. No bourbon taste what so ever. I have felt like the restaurant has been getting progressively dated, but the biggest issue is that the restaurant left a piece of plastic wrap in the salad that they gave me. The restaurant is divided into two main areas - dining room and saloon/bar. When we arrived, we were seated immediately in the dining room. It was nicely decorated with colorful artwork along the walls with the lighting dimmed to set the mood. Overall, it was a great atmosphere with a lot of people dining on a Friday night. When our server came, we started off with some drinks... my husband ordered a Crispin hard cider and I got a glass of Mirrasou. For our appetizer course, I was intrigued by the Blackened Brie. This is just a small wheel of brie that has been charred on the outside, resulting in a creamy melted center. It was served with ciabatta toast, sliced apples and an apricot cranberry chutney. Next up was our entree course. We couldn't decide between 2 steak entrees that caught our eye, that we ended up ordering both to split. The Herbed Rubbed Campfire Steak, which is a dry herb rubbed 16 oz ribeye served with garlic mashed potatoes and maple glazed carrots, was delicious. My husband had that plate and it was cooked perfectly to the medium rare he requested. I got the Steak Frites American, which is a 12 oz New York strip steak kissed with a cilantro butter, served with broiled blue cheese crusted tomatoes atop a small mixed salad and a side of truffle fries. Just like my husband's steak, mine was cooked perfectly as well to medium. The tomatoes were also good and are also served as a separate side on their menu. The fries were delicious as well, with just a hint of truffle salt. Both entrees were very good sized portions for the price and I thought the service in ensuring our steaks were done to our liking was great. With two courses down, it would be a shame not to make room for dessert! Our server mentioned their signature dessert was their BlackFinn Hot Chocolate. From the name, you would think it was a special drink... but no, think again. This dish catered to the chocolate & peanut butter combination in the most indulgent way. The BlackFinn Hot Chocolate is a fallen chocolate and peanut butter soufflé served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, fresh whipped cream and a caramel sauce drizzle. It was amazing! I had the Ultimate Bacon Burger and I have to say it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Stacked high with fresh condiments and cooked perfectly. Fries were also incredible! Went here on Valentine's Day with my boyfriend, and we were able to make reservations the night before. Great service and accommodations for the busy evening! We both ordered beers, and the food was fantastic. I got the chicken piccata, and he ordered the bacon burger. We both had the Chipotle mayo on the side that added a great twist to both meals. Splitting the two was a great idea. I like the open concept of the restaurant as one side is a bar and the other is more centered around dining. I came to have an early dinner with my grandma on a Wednesday. We arrived before 4:30 so it was nowhere near busy. We had an interesting encounter with our waitress, Lindsay, when my grandma was trying to order herself a glass of wine. She was trying to find the one she wanted on the list & instead of giving my grandma a minute to look, our waitress hounded my grandma, yapping "which one? which one??" It was giving inpatient & kind of rude. I glared at her for being rude to my grandma, so she condescendingly asked if I was okay at least four times, arguing if I was sure when I said yes. Once I affirmed that I was fine and that we needed minute her attitude seemed to shift completely, and we had no further issues. Overall Experience: we (group of 4) went in on a Monday evening for dinner, so got seated right away at a booth at our request. The atmosphere was great, well lit and has a cool bar setup. Our server Jasmine approached us quickly and when it came to order, she memorized our drinks, appetizer, and each entree order without taking a single note! Truly impressive. Drinks: $6 special for a Moscow mule, the Princess Peach loves Maria drink, and the Manhattan is what we got. The Manhattan was strong and the other 2 drinks weren't too sugary. Appetizer: Guacamole toast and chips - chunky and great presentation but could have had just a bit more of guac. Entrees: Ordered the blackened chicken Alfredo (perfect size and amount of creaminess), kids menu chicken tenders (very crispy), Mediterranean salad (perfect amount of dressing and veggies were fresh), and the ginger tuna (absolutely amazing and worth the price which I believe was about $23 - most expensive thing ordered so everything else was very reasonably priced). Dessert: Went for a birthday so we also got two desserts - crème brûlée from the specials menu, and chocolate cake (plate had happy birthday written on it which was a nice gesture). One slight bummer was not seeing one of the desserts given for free as most other restaurants do for occasions, but I didn't explicitly ask if it could be given on the house so not letting that detail impact an overall 5-star review. read more

We haven't stopped in for quite a while but we were in the area and had an early dinner. They were very empty which was nice for us, but also disappointing. It was pretty great as usual. We had excellent fried raviolis before the meal. My daughter had chicken parmesan which was great. The pasta doesn't have a traditiinal marinara, but rather a blend of diced tomatoes with lemon and basil. I had a bacon burger, and it was tasty. My wife had apple bourbon glazed haddock. She let me try a bite and it was so good, I tried to pull the plate away. She stabbed my hand with her fork, so I threw my glass of water at her. I came here this time for lunch, and ordered the shrimp and grits. What's interesting about the shrimp and grits was that the grits took the form of 3 triangles. At first, when I got it, I was like cool, my shrimp and grits come with cornbread. Then my friend pointed out that the cornbread were the grits. Oh. That's cool, I didn't mind breaking up the grits and have it soak the delicious shrimp and red sauce that came with it. I really enjoyed the shrimp and grits, but wish the portion was bigger. The dish had about 8 to 10 shrimp (or is it "shrimps"?) but I was still hungry afterwards. In either case, the dish was delicious. Service was A-OK, and for the most part the staff were friendly and attentive. The manager, or someone whom I assume was the manager, came over and asked if we were A-OK, which we were. Dude was dressed very casually, so for all I know, it could have just been a very caring and concerned patron asking if we were A-OK. That's nice of him. My child had grilled cheese as her main course and she was so vibing her lunch. I had fish and chips which I enjoyed so very much with their perfect tartar sauce. My husband I were excited to try this restaurant in our area; however, we were disappointed in many things. When we walked in it took 5 minutes to seat us and we were the first in line. We did not get waited on when we were at our table right away either. Service was not great, I am not sure if they were short staffed or what was happening. Small sample size as this was my first time there but the atmosphere was great. The food prices are what they should be. They have a fantastic craft beer selection for extremely cheap for the area (I am a craft beer connoisseur) and what I ordered was very good. What I ordered was full of flavor and spot on. I am definitely a critic of broccoli as I find that most places (even nice steak houses) don't season or cook it that great and it was flawless. The waitress we had refilled my iced tea like a ton of times. I love iced tea more than most things in this world. She was ON IT to say the least. Never once did I look down at my glass and think "wow I wish I had more iced tea" because BOOM she was there pouring that nectar of the gods into my glass. I'm honestly impressed because I was inhaling that stuff like a mosquito on a sweaty leg in the middle of a humid midwestern summer. Not only that, but I live for that French onion soup. My body temperature raised and my morale was boosted beyond belief on this wretchedly cold winter night. We live nearby and curbside pickup from Blackfinn has been a mainstay for us the past year. Orders are always complete and ready on time. Food is consistently good. Some of our favorites are Ying Yang Shrimp, Baby Back Ribs, Soft Pretzels with Cheese Dipping Sauce (without the garnish topper), Buffalo Wedge Entree Salad, Cheeseburgers and the Blackfinn Chocolate Cake. One note. There are so many good sounding items that many in my family and group of friends would order if they did not contain Cilantro.
