Went on a Wednesday lunch and it wasn't too crowded. We sat ourselves as they didn't have a lot of people working. It took a while to give the server our food and drink order and were were never told about their Daily Specials or offered any water. We ordered the potatoe skins as an appetizer and I wanted to try their chicken wings since they were on the menu as a Wednesday Special for .99 each Unfortunately our appetizer came out almost at the same time as our entrees. The skins were huge but overcooked. The wings were good in size but I should have gotten the sauce on the side as they were super soggy. It came with ranch dressing which I didn't care for at all. Our server never followed up with us after he brought us our meal as I would have asked for blue cheese dressing instead. I've been to Draft Picks before. I've had good meals there before. I'm not sure what happened but I on my last visit for trivia night, the food had lost all of its flavor. My husband and I ordered the boneless chicken wings and steak tacos because those were the specials on the menu that night. The boneless chicken wings had a really bad flavor to them. The garlic parmesan wings had too strong of a vinegar taste. The barbecue boneless chicken wings were much too peppery and not enough barbecue flavor. I bit right into a big piece of gristle or cartilage in the steak tacos. The cheese, lettuce and tomato added no flavor to the tacos. The last item we tried was the French fries because I thought that they would be safe. I was wrong. There was no flavor to the fries, not even salt. I didn't get to spend enough time here because we were bar hopping that night. But it seems like your typical local bar spot. I didn't get a chance to order food but I got a vodka cranberry and it was good. Right amount of booze and cranberry and the bartender was very attentive, so that's always a plus! We have been a handful of times throughout the years, usually to watch a sports game. This time we were here to watch a Cubs game. There are TVs throughout the bar and restaurant, so you can easily see a TV no matter where you sit. Service was ok, kind of slow, but our server was very nice. It took awhile for our food to come out. Our group had a variety of items burgers, wraps and the daily special - broasted chicken. We ordered the cauliflower appetizer which came out with other food. The broasted chicken was dry and had very limited seasoning. It came with coleslaw, a small plastic container. The wraps fell apart mostly due to poor construction. The burgers were ok. Living so close to Draft Picks, I've been here a few times for casual dinners and to grab drinks with friends. The food is nothing too crazy. Think standard American bar food. They do offer daily specials, which I like. Prices are decent and fair for what you're getting. The space inside is large, and if you're into sports, there are plenty of screens throughout the restaurant. If you enjoy watching sports and drinking, check this place out. For the food, everything I've tried was pretty mid at best. The chicken wings were just okay, and while the chicken tenders are meaty, the batter is very interesting... and not necessarily in a good way. Service has also been hit or miss. Some visits are fine, and others not so much. Solid place to gather with friends with a large dining area and plenty of parking. This place has tons of specials and events happening which make the atmosphere a bit more lively than some other suburban bars for me. Service isn't the quickest, here but it's definitely much quicker than some other suburban spots that I've been to when they're at their busiest. The best reason to come here is probably their daily specials which provide a sizeable amount of food for a very reasonable price (rivaling that of fast food and fast casual). These are prepared pretty similar to what you find for suburban bar food, but the additional star is due to competitive pricing. I've never had anything here which I find particularly amazing, but I also not had anything here that I really disliked. The brownie and chocolate chip cookie are both solid dessert options, but are fairly large so it's good to share with a group. There's a fairly good amount of whipped cream and ice cream on them as well, which is a plus for anyone craving a frozen treat. Overall, large and comfortable place to gather with friends. It gets the job done while providing plenty of food without breaking the bank. It's also not excessively loud even when busy, which is a positive when coming here with a group. read more

Food is okay. When I come here I usually eat at the bar. bar staff is mostly nice. However, we were sitting at the bar and behind us was the owner seated with his friend. We overheard him speaking in a very vulgar manner that made us so uncomfortable we had to move to the other side. I am quite frankly worried for his mostly female staff. He is very unprofessional and having disrespectful and disgusting conversations with his female staff. It is also apparent that there has been many corners cut to save money and thus creating a less favorable dining experience. Staff was witnessed grabbing the behind of patrons and other staff. Really weird and uncomfortable. Cutting corners is never okay where quality and satisfaction are concerned regarding your customers. Their homemade chili is excellent. It's worth it to pay the extra cost for onions and cheddar cheese because it enhances the dish's flavor and charm. The spices in the chili are flavorful, and the proportions of meat to beans are just right. I had their hungover burger for a meal. The patty was dry and poorly seasoned. I asked for the burger to be cooked medium, but it came out well done. The bacon had a good, savory flavor, but it was floppy and I wish it had been crispy. The fried egg was cooked to perfection; the yolk is still runny but the outside edge has a great crispness to it. If the burger patty was properly cooked, it would be flawless. read more

Three of us went on a Saturday right after they opened we ordered a pizza and three appetizers. We had just some fries, cheese curds and loaded tater tots. The food apps were good, though the curds were a little salty. The loaded tots were great and I'm going to make them at home! The pizza seemed to be taking a long time but we hadn't gotten together in over a year and Nicky was keeping our drinks filled, finally she let us know they made the wrong pizza. Honestly I'm glad she said something and didn't make any excuses. There are enough TV's to watch any game or sport show that would have been on but being so early it didn't matter. We were seated right away in a booth. Our waiter greeted us right away and took our drink and food order. They serve coke fountain products which we were happy about. We started off with an order of Saganaki as our appetizer which we both loved! It was served with quartered pita bread. My husband ordered a dozen mild wings ($89 each) with blue cheese dipping sauce. He loved them and said he would order them again! I ordered the broasted chicken dinner for $12.99 it came with fries (or mashed potatoes) coleslaw and garlic bread. The chicken leg was seasoned perfectly... the rest of the chicken felt like it did not even have any salt or pepper. I am not sure if it is just my taste buds but it was not as flavorful as I hoped for. I would definitely dine here again but I will try something else. This is the second time that I have patronized Draft Picks, the first time wasn't very good but I thought I'd give it another try. The atmosphere is noisy, no sound deadening materials inside at all. The music that was playing was something a 13 year old girl would listen to at an uncomfortable volume. The crowd is mainly guys in there 30s with beards wearing ball caps. I ordered the burger special $6 for a double that includes one tomato and lettuce anything else is extra charge, did get potato's that was $8.95 extra. My daughter had the southwest wrap, she liked it, my wife had the Cobo Chicken Sandwich, she said it was dry and un edible. I wish she would have told me and saved me $15.95. The mashed potatoes were good tasted like KFCs potatoes. We most likely will not be back. Mainly because of the noise level, the teen music, and the quality of the food. I've probably been here about 20 times but never written a review so here we go. It's a sports bar, so that's how I'm judging it. Plenty of TVs. It's a Cubs/Sox/Bears spot (as it should be). Adding the photo of Ditka near the bathrooms to my review for good measure. Wings 5/5 The hot wings here are great. I usually get 6 and we share them before a meal. The hot sauce is just right. I get them pretty much every time I come here. Burger 4/5 I've had better but they do it right here. Whatever style you prefer its represented on the menu. And on Sundays they are $3! Beer 4/5 I love that they have a lot to choose from on tap but I generally end up getting either Guinness or Peroni. Maybe I just have a different palette because the style I want isn't typically represented. But overall there is a good selection here on draft. Greek Salad 5/5 Excellent Greek Salad here! Plenty of olives and feta and the dressing is perfect. Service 5/5 I've always had good service here. No issues there. I always sit at the main bar. Environment 3/5 There's an outdoor area that's pretty sweet if you have a group and want to catch a game, if I had any complaint it would probably be the entryway and the clutter of gaming machines and general disarray of the walkway coming in. It's also really dark to the point that the TVs do most of the lighting. Stopped by here on a Sunday night during football season and this is the place to watch the games. The food was great, we got some fries and grilled cheese and both were delicious! The service was also phenomenal- we were there for a long time watching the game and the server kept checking in on us! I'll be back and can't wait to try more food off the menu! read more

Draft Picks is your standard suburban bar with a big bar in the middle of the place and lots of seating around it. They have an extensive menu of various bar food but also have more healthy options than most bars. Salads, wraps, burgers, sandwiches, nachos, wings - they got it all! The prices here are very standard, too - this place isn't expensive. They have a lot of daily deals and events like trivia nights and you can also book a party here. It gets pretty popping on weekends and nights. The food and drinks here are good but nothing too crazy. One thing I noticed is staff here does not wear masks and they definitely don't enforce it with individuals which sucks during this Omicron variant. That's why I docked a star, I didn't feel too safe here with the pandemic. Draft Picks doesn't stand out enough for me to recommend to others, as it really is your typical suburban bar. Visited here on a Monday evening, they had 1/2 pizza and it was trivia night which started at 7pm. Went with a 1/2 pepperoni/sausage pizza and loaded tater tots. It was also $5 signature draft beer night!!! Food service was quick. Full price was $27 (it's good but not $27 worth!) glad it was 1/2 off. Have been here twice within the last 2 months. Both times were on a Thursday when the special was a burger. We had the burgers both times and they were excellent. We shared a basket of fries and those had excellent flavor. We'll definitely be back. The service both times was excellent. We sat in a booth and it is loud in that section because of all the TVs. Stopped for lunch on Saturday and got the broasted chicken for 12.50 it was the special. It was very good, much better than a sandwich. It came with a side( I got fries) and a small coleslaw cup. I have been here in the past for lunch and they always have good food, fast service and decent prices. The place is a little dark so you may want to sit by the windows. This is a sports bar with a large selection of beer on tap and many TV's. I wasn't out for bear or TV but my co-worker suggested this place. The Greek salad was my favorite part. I also went with the boneless wing special and some regular wings for comparison. I wasn't thrilled with the breading on each and didn't expect any on the regular wings.
