Steak sandwich with hand cut chips!
Urban H.

As I live near Buy in Arlington Heights and was at another golf range nearby look to get something to eat happen to come across this place online. So we found the place was a bit hidden and almost couldn't see it from the street. A very nice atmosphere looked clean from entrance to the bar and so on. Very nice server. Ordered the Provolone Sticks. So good I know it's 4 for $7.00 not only is it lowest price app it was so worth it. Imagine mozzarella sticks just homemade and pumped up! Now for Steak Sandwich it was a great old style sandwich. Cooked so well and bread was on point! Cheese melted to goodness! Wish I would have added onion or green sweet peppers, but it was so good with out it. Slaw was nice with a surprising kick but not hot.

Years ago, my dad's baseball team (and families) would spend summer evenings on the outside patio of Club Casa, eating food and devouring pitchers of beer. It was good times all around. We dined in the cafe as a family occasionally, but as time passed, we became regulars at other area restaurants. Recently, my parents have become regulars at this cafe again. I no longer live in the area, but you can bet that if I'm in town, I'll be here with them. It's not my favorite place to be (I don't like to eat at the same place all the time), but I enjoy being with my parents. Food is always scrumptious and filling. Last time I was here, I tried the baked goat cheese with marinara sauce appetizer and it was amazing! I could eat that as a snack every day! For dinner, I had the cajun salmon with a side of garlic/olive oil penne and green beans. YUM. Other times, I've ordered different fish dinners (I really like fish, apparently) and have always been satisfied. The menu offers burgers, steaks, pasta, salads, sandwiches, and so forth at typical cafe prices. Yes, it is somewhat standard American cafe dinner fare, but they do a great job serving up some delicious meals. You can sit in the cafe area or the bar. We usually end up in the bar -- which I don't like for eating. It's great if you're there for the bar atmosphere (the bartenders are excellent), but the blaring televisions, bright lights, and LOUD noise (from chatter and the kitchen nearby) make me VERY cranky. Rawr. Crankiness aside, this isn't a bad spot at all. If you see my parents, say hello! Cheers.

Just had my son's baptism reception there this past Sunday (August 12th) and everything was great! The food was delicious, the workers were attentive & all my guests had a great time! From inquiring about the venue a few months back, they were very responsive & answered all my questions. I've heard good things about their River Room banquet hall from others before so I wanted to try it out for my son's baptism. With Decent pricing for buffet style, we loved the chicken Marsala, the Alfredo bow tie pasta was a big hit with guests, the mash potatoes, veggies and Italian beef sandwiches did not disappoint. My fave was also the Sundae bar for dessert with kids and adults both had a great time making their own sundaes! There was so much food left over, I was happy to see that they packaged all of it for us to take home. I will definitely recommend this venue to others and looking forward to coming back again to try other food! Thanks again Lyn/Kyle for the awesome service and a great venue for my family's gathering!

Who knew a golf course could have such great food! The salads are cold and crisp and huge! So be hungry. The Ruben is grilled and has plenty of meat! Homemade fries are thin cut with sea salt! The menu has a lot to offer! You won't be disappointed. Go on over for a bite to eat! It might just be one of your favorite go to spots

Held several events here, most recently my wife's 50th birthday. They did a great job and everything was perfect. The food, the drinks and the service. Can't go wrong.

Cod Fish Fry. I don't recommend. HORRIBLE! Potato was good!

Average food. Inattentive server who didn't notice we needed refills or come check on us. Had to ask for the check after a long wait.

Social Inn has been on my to-try list for some time.  My husband and I finally had a chance to…read morecheck it out on a Monday evening recently.  I made a reservation via Tock that I already had an account for years, so that was simple. On a weekday evening, as expected, the restaurant was not busy.  We were promptly seated at a 4-top table (2 × 2-top) against the right wall, with some other 2-tops on both sides.  Like many reviewers had mentioned, the venue was beautiful, modern and chic. There were 7 tables occupied, including us.  The music that they had was not too loud, just that customers' conversations were amplified by the box shape open dining area.  If we focused enough, we could hear every conversation if we wanted to.  This was obvious when a table of about 6 women got seated at a table near the front door, some of them laughed and talked very loudly.  My husband and I just found it funny and didn't let that bother us.  However, when the restaurant is filled on busier days, it might be a different story. Our server, Patrick, was very nice and attentive.  Since they did not list drinks on their menu except those with alcohol, I asked him about non-alcoholic drinks.  After a brief "discussion", he asked me to leave it to him to make me a drink with mango.  He came up with a beautiful drink that was good and refreshing, with some mango flavor.  It was Virgin Paloma on our receipt for $8, which was reasonable.  He was very polite and checked in on us several times at appropriate times during our dinner.  The pace of the dinner was good, we spent a total of an hour and 15 minutes in the restaurant. Patrick might be the only waiter serving all the tables that evening, though. I also ordered Grilled Octopus ($22) which was very good, tender and flavorful, but was a little too salty to my taste.  The small pita bread wedges were warm and fluffy with some crispy edges, the beet hummus was creamy, and everything was delicious and tasted fresh.  I generously shared 2 little bites of octopus with my husband and I finished the entire plate, it was so good!  My husband really liked his Spiked White Fish ($29) and I shared a bite of that too.  He also had a House Salad for $6, that was a very good value.  He enjoyed a glass of Sauvignon Blanc Crossing ($12) too.  We also shared an order of Crème Brulee ($8), that was creamy and cooked perfectly.  We ordered a takeout order of Rigatoni with Sausage ($23), that was a good portion, and was still delicious and al dente the next day after being microwaved. I am so happy that we found Social Inn - a hidden gem in Plaza del Prado, it's not far from home, with comfortable and beautiful ambiance, excellent service (from Patrick), an attractive menu with enticing food (fresh ingredients and appealing plating), and reasonable prices, we will definitely be back!

We were in the area late in the day and remembered Social Inn was open, so we went. We ordered a variety of items. I had the Social Burger (at least 1/2 pound), we also ordered their chicken dinner salad and the beet hummus. Everything was delicious. I did order my burger medium and it was delivered well done, but it was still good. They also have one of the best gluten-free buns I've ever had. I do wish they were open at lunch time still, but I understand they need to be open for their busiest hours. Social Inn is a great option when you are in the Glenview area.

Excellent meal after a long day flying into Chicago for my Uncles 100 th birthday celebration!…read moreOur hotel was in Glenview and lucky for us this restaurant is right across the parking lot! My sister and I went over for a late supper and sat on the patio as the weather was pretty nice for April. They have a great menu so after ordering a cocktail we settled on salads and started with some chips and guacamole. Well let me tell you the appetizer could've been dinner! It was a huge portion and the guac was so fresh and good! We put a small dent in it before our salads arrived. Can you say to go boxes! Not disappointed with the salads either! I had a nice Cesar salad with grilled chicken and my sister had a salad with sweet potato and brussel sprouts, both very good! Our waitress kept checking on us and we actually closed them down since we came late and closing was at ten but they didn't rush us! If you're ever in Glenview Illinois check them out!

I kicked myself since last night but wanted to take out my mom for Mother's Day lunch…read more We got there and it was crowded, but went to the front desk to get a table (parking lot was full, but had allot of space, btw) - surprisingly, they said give us 5-10 minutes, and yes it won't take long. WOW! To make a long story short, we got seated, our drinks, and orders taken, and after 15 minutes, our food was hot and piping and fresh. And it was tasty - my steak quesadillas and my mom got a house Cobb salad. Both were tasty and looked great. Our server Miriam was awesome with our orders, she came by to check on us and not too many times, and was there to help us with leftovers and leaving stuff. She struck a nice balance of not being there vs being here too often, so that's Ace's in my book. Since it was Mother's Day, it's crowded and a bit loud but not too loud where it was too obnoxious, except for a few people who had no manners at all on dress, but that's another topic I won't go to, for now. Tables, plates and silverware were clean, and one can still get around, even with one table behind us with a handicapped person, it didn't crowd up much at all - it was all very reasonably spacious. Definitely will come back here, though I do miss that older lady who was our server the last time before today, who was very nice - had a bit of an attitude to her personality but not too much to make it tasteless, some sass makes for an interesting day. (Hope you are doing well, ma'am!)

The restaurant is decorated very nicely, they put a lot of thought in colors and decor. Our waitress was very sweet and knowledgeable, I appreciated her input. I ordered coffee and my cup was never left empty. They have a really sweet man who comes around and tops off your coffee cups. They have specials and a kids menu too. The bathroom latches are way too high for a child to lock the door, but they do have a fold down changing table in the woman's restroom. (Not in the stall) They do have high chairs for toddlers. I actually need a chair to rest my leg on because I cannot bend my right knee. Our waitress was very nice about it... however a man came up to me and told me it was a fire hazard to have a chair in the aisle... so what about the kids high chairs? The chair was completely pushed under the table... so I had no choice but to put my foot up on the other side of the booth (which I was avoiding). Also the booth cushion is not attached so when you lean on it it comes up... making it very hard for a handicapped person like me to get in and out of a booth. other than that our experience was enjoyable. My husband ordered the corned beef hash breakfast. It came with Corned beef Hash, 2 eggs (he ordered his scrambled) diced potatoes or hashed browns (he picked diced potatoes) and toast or pancakes. That is a lot of food for him, so I am going to eat his pancakes. I also ordered two eggs over easy off the sides menu. The portion sizes are large. My husband's scrambled eggs looked more like 3 eggs and not two. The food was nice and hot and tasty. Highly recommended dining here if you're in the area. Will be back.
