Bouncer told me it was not his no cash policy and just leave if I don't like it. Went to see a band only to find out the entire band area was reserved. Less than enjoyable experience. Update: whiskey river responded with an interesting answer. The reserved area was for a bday party. Nothing at all that night indicated that it was for St Jude. I arrived an hour before showtime and all the tables/seats anywhere close to the band were reserved. I reached out to one of the band members who I know (and the reason I was there) to confirm and nothing about the explanation I received below seems to be true. My best guess is that maybe just maybe the establishment mixed up what evening I was talking about.

Was not busy at all, so that wasn't the reason. Ordering drinks was quite the task with Maya as she'd forget the order. Positive note, food was good and came out somewhat decent time. Lastly, billing was quite the task. Took about 20min and it was incorrect. How we were charged for 6 beers when the bucket comes with 5... not sure. Also incorrect mixed drinks were billed. Some of us gave cash, and she decided to keep the change and gave herself a 36% tip from me and 33% tip from the other. Because this process took so long just trying to leave - we didn't bother with getting the change... or we might have had to wait another 20-30minutes.

They have a large outdoor seating area with its own counter and bar area. Half of the inside is a dining room, the middle is counter bar service, and the other side is a sports book with a lot of large TVs to watch horse racing and other sporting events. There are TVs all around the restaurant, so we could watch various sports going on that evening. On the night we went, ten wings were nine bucks and you can select two sauces or dry rubs. They were also doing some drink specials and drinks weren't expensive either. We also shared cheese curds and pretzel bites before we all ordered wings. The curds were curds. The problem with cheese curds is that if they're not super hot, they're just meh. I get that businesses make good money from them, but ugh, not a great item to order. The pretzel bites are fine as well. They were okay. Again, not an issue with Player's Pub, it's just the nature of these two different appetizers. Anyway, I got the wings special with a side of tots and ranch and included a side salad. The salad was a nice size and was fresh. I really didn't expect, well, I didn't know what to expect, but it was a good salad. The ranch is good, too. They have a great ranch game. And was a perfect sauce to dip my tots in. The wings were very good too. I got the hot honey and the bourbon-bacon sauces on my wings. The wings were meaty, juicy, and flavorful. They had a bunch of sauces and I would definitely order them again and try of their other sauces. I'm also part of a burger club, and they have several burgers on their menu, so we'll have to come back to try their burgers. Our server was also very attentive, constantly checking on us and refilling our drinks. We'll definitely be back to Player's Pub and catch a game and grab some great food.

We had a party of 10. We made reservations and the table was ready. Our server was very nice and helpful. My wife was feeling hot and out of no where, the server came with a mini handheld fan and plopped it on the table which was awesome. We ordered Pepperoni Thin, 1/2 cheese, 1/2 cheese thin, Gfree Pepperoni, Gfree Penne with meat sauce, Brussels, and Onion Rings. The pizza was crisp and the cheese was nicely cooked. I really love the sauce as it has a nice little sweetness to it. The Brussels were good and roasted perfectly and had a nice drizzle of sauce. The onion rings were large and had crunchy. The server was very attentive and funny. We really appreciated the fan! They also had live music. I def will be back here.

If you're a beer drinker, they have a massive selection on tap (about 90 taps--and no, that's not a typo!). They also have a large patio that looks like a great spot when the weather is nice. Inside, there's a good mix of low-tops, high-tops, banquettes, and booths. All the tabletops feature copper tops with wood trim, and exposure to water and food over time has given each table a unique patina. We arrived right as they were switching over from the brunch menu to dinner, and the staff made us feel very welcome. What We Ordered: Smoked Brisket Reuben Eggrolls: We ordered these special eggrolls for the table. My friend has a shellfish allergy, and since many traditional eggrolls contain shrimp, he was excited to try these. He said they were the best eggrolls he's ever had (though he admitted he doesn't eat them often!). He paired it with a Guinness Zero non-alcoholic draught and was amazed by how close it tasted to the original. Fish Tacos ($19): Recommended by another reviewer, these come with three cornmeal-battered, fried Mahi-Mahi tacos topped with cilantro lime cream and fresh micro cilantro. They were crispy and very tasty. If you're usually sensitive to cilantro, you might still enjoy these--I mostly tasted a bright, lemony freshness rather than heavy cilantro. Sides (Broccoli Rabe & Asparagus): I substituted chips for a vegetable side. Due to a mix-up in the kitchen, I got to try the broccoli rabe first, though it turned out way too spicy for anyone at our table. My actual order was asparagus--my absolute favorite--but it was a bit disappointing, as the bottom half of each stalk was woody and fibrous. Fish & Chips ($21.50): My friend went with this traditional entry. At that price point, he was expecting three fillets, but he couldn't finish the two that were served and took some home. Overall, a solid entrée. Classic Breakfast ($15.50): My husband got this from the brunch menu. He was very pleased with the scrambled eggs, potatoes, thick-sliced bacon, and sausage links. Overall, a solid visit with great variety on the menu!

Unfortunately, not having been in person, there is not much that we can say about the ambiance or staff, though they do accommodate substitutions on takeout, which is an indicator of good service.

Their food menu is basic American and has items like burgers, chicken wings, fried fish with fries, BLT sandwhiches, etc and THE ONLY German food option was.. the bratwurst hot dog. The sausage was fine, served with piping hot home made fries that I liked a lot, and a small cup of hot sauerkraut that was very good too. The beer menu was much better in that respect and offered a handful of German options, a few very exotic ones but majority of it was all American. I had the Dortmunder Actien-Brauerei (DAB) Original and enjoyed every drop of it. Totally recommend. Tuesday at 1AM, surprisingly the crowd started to pick up the number of people and it was getting LOUD. I did not expect that. There were 3 tables inside but most people were hanging by the bar. I checked with the bartender if it was ok to grab the table and he didn't mind and even brought my food to the table, even though he then politely mentioned that ordering is at the bar. I think the biggest disappointment of the evening were the chopped brussels sprouts. I had a beer to start and later a Makers Manhattan, which was a Tuesday drink special. There was a good variety of food around the table. Approx $45 for two beers, a quality "top shelf" manhattan w ice ball, and two meals! (In any other major city our meal would be double that amount). The main entrance was through the patio. The olives were standard olives and, maybe I'm a snob, but I kind of expect a blue cheese or garlic stuffed olive at a place where I'm paying $16 for a cocktail. For my second round, I got a vodka soda, which was exactly what I expected. We ordered french fries and truffle fries, both of which came out quickly. My group ordered our drinks and waited for around 15 minutes before the server came back out asking for our order once again. My friends all ordered cocktails and I ordered a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. The server clearly wasn't sure what Cabernet Sauvignon was since she repeated it back to me as Sauvignon blanc. I corrected her and the cocktails came out, but another server/bartender came out asking what I had ordered. I repeated once again a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. He brought out a glass of white wine. I had to tell him that Cabernet Sauvignon was a red wine, not white, and then finally got the correct drink. It was unfortunately at least 30 minutes of being there and four conversations before I got my drink. All in all, I was pretty disappointed. With the type of bar this place is aiming to be, I wouldn't expect it to be so difficult to get a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon.
