The problem with it being so small is if too many people enter and are not considerate, it can get loud very quickly. It was not busy when I first got there and then some young adults entered and were a bit loud for the tiny space. Great experience overall. Will go back. They also have books you can read, and have another smaller room off of the larger room. Have a couple outside seats as well.

The food came out fast enough and it's all a big portion. Everything tasted good but not great unfortunately, and my table found ourselves adding salt and pepper a lot throughout the meal. Didn't really get the skillet part so i would recommend ordering something else. The pancakes were really good without being overly sweet too. We got customized sides and didn't even get upcharged for them! And the server did a good job of splitting the bills without too much trouble. It felt unnecessarily rigid and really took away from the experience. I also ordered a mocha that wasn't even filled to the top, and it tasted watered down and frankly pretty gross. I would definitely skip the café drinks here. The interior also feels dated, with a lot of decorations including Christmas ornaments still hanging in September. The booths were not very comfortable. Overall, the experience left enough of a negative impression that I won't be returning.

We ordered a borek with cheese pastry. It was warmed up upon ordering. Flavor was good, could have used more filling. Both the black Forrest cake and the tiramisu were delicious. Most items cake wise are at least $10 a slice.

The staff member who was already checking somebody out was answering a question, noticed I came in, and took that split second to greet me. Very much appreciated. 2. The menu They had an item called chai latte, not chai tea latte. As a South Asian (and I'm sure my South Asian friends are going to appreciate this), chai tea latte is a laughable thing because when you translate it literally, it is called tea latte. There is no such thing as tea latte; it's just tea. We're being nice to allow it to be called tea latte or chai latte. These folks here got it right and call it just chai latte, which I really appreciate I had the pistachio latte, which was epic and delicious. I requested them to use half the amount of pistachio flavoring to cut down on the sweetness, which was perfect because it had that subtle pistachio flavor and the robust flavor of the coffee. It had a really velvety texture. Wife had the ginger tea, which, when it came, we were very skeptical about paying almost $5 for it, but it was totally worth it. It was not ordinary ginger tea. I had a sip or two of it and it was good. We ordered one of their chocolate breads, not the chocolate croissant, but another bread-like item with some chocolate. The chocolate itself was delicious. I don't know how this item is supposed to be in its place of origin. I cannot say that it was not made right, but for my taste buds I felt there could be more chocolate and less bread. The only thing that was a little bit of a downer was the biscotti. It was a little soft and you could tell some of the nuts felt like they were getting stale, though I am not sure. Overall, I absolutely loved this place. It started getting crowded, yet nobody was left behind when it came to the service. Everybody was being taken care of. Sadly, we're leaving Schaumburg tomorrow, but this place is always going to be on my mind whenever we visit the Sourips.

I'd like to give this place a better review, but having visited a number of area coffee shops and…read morecafes, I can't in good conscious rate them as well. There is a free parking lot with plenty of parking and I found a spot right away on an early Sunday morning. It's very bright and feels more like a retail store atmosphere than a cafe. There were only three tables and a counter running along the back wall. It was easy for two of us to just sit at a table for a while, but as more people came in, we felt guilty taking a table as we just sipped coffee and chatted. They definitely have some kinks to work out and they've only been open for a few months, and they need to train their staff better as they clearly don't understand how to serve with any type speed. They don't do traditional here. You can't just get coffee and a Danish or other typical bakery item. You can't even get toast with butter despite them offering many toast options with toppings. Here's a tip: offer toast with butter or a spread. You'll get a lot more sales with some items that are not super filling. I opted for a hot mocha coffee with an extra pump of chocolate and a crepe. Again, you can't just get plain crepes. They are homemade and should be offered plain, but I digress. I got the Hangover crepe. According to their website, this is the description of The Hangover Crepe: "Start your day right with our delicious breakfast items like bacon, hash browns, scrambled eggs, and cheddar cheese, served till 11 AM. Afterward, enjoy a refreshing acai bowl or pair your breakfast with a cappuccino or a chai tea latte. Don't forget to try our matcha latte for a unique twist at our coffee shop in Buffalo Grove!" Look, I just do marketing for a living, so don't sell me on what you have before and after 11am. Just tell me what you get with this specific crepe. And that's bacon, hash browns, scrambled eggs, and cheese. The scrambled eggs are some of the best fluffy and dry eggs you can get anywhere. They were perfect. The hash browns were in patty form and were perfect for this dish. They serve it as a handheld, but it definitely needs a knife and fork, which you collect at the counter. You have to ask for salt and pepper or a sauce if you want. The savoryness of the items mixed with the sweetness of the crepe was a great combo. It was very tasty. But it took them quite a while to make the crepe. I was mostly finished with by hot mocha which I could have topped off for an additional fee. My compatriot wanted plain toast with butter. Mind you they have six (6) different toast offerings with all sorts of toppings. You can get your toast item made with sourdough, multigrain, white, or gluten-free. However, you can't get plain toast. And just as a side Q&A: when you order toast anywhere else, how many pieces do you typically receive? If you answered two (2) pieces/slices, you'd be correct. Irene's gave him one slice. They first toasted it and burned it badly. They make toast items. How do you screw up toast if you routinely make toast? Then they finally brought out the one slice and asked if he wanted butter. He did, so they took the toast to the kitchen and put two dabs of butter on his toast. But then they didn't give him a knife to spread it, so he used the crust of the bread to spread it on the slice. Like I stated, kinks need to be worked out. While we were there, the owner's family came in and took up two of the tables. Now all three tables were taken. And older couple came in and had to side at the counter height stools along the wall. The food was tasty, the drinks were good. Both are pricey for what they are. And they are seriously lacking seating. It would be nice to see them last in Buffalo Grove, but they need to fix the seating issue (maybe smaller rectangular tables instead of round ones?), and get things out of the kitchen faster, and drinks made more quickly to have more staying power. Oh, and have your family not come all together and take up all your tables.

Expect a line as there was a long line when we arrive. Unfortunately there's only one person at the cashier register and I think there's only one register and there's only that one person who's taking the orders. While I understand that this is a small run shop I will say that standing in line and waiting on a Saturday morning really is discouraging. The food however, a super delicious and came out very timely. So absolutely no complaints for me and they also have a water station set up so you can help yourself to water which is fantastic. After sitting around for about an hour to an hour and a half this place got super packed with families's children and strollers which made it even harder to move around. The ambience is fantastic so definitely worth it for your social media. I would come back here again, however I'm not really someone to order alcohol here at this time but for breakfast I think it's great.
