I met a couple friends her last week and was told it had a different name, but now they are Nicollette's Cafe. They are located next to Gianni's Cafe in downtown Palatine. Even though they are both cafes, they are very different. Gianni's is more of an Italian bistro. Nicollette's is a cute coffee shop with a nice cafe menu of pastries and breakfast foods and sandwiches. I believe they have some lunch items like paninis and salads, but I don't right recall as I was there on a Sunday morning. What I found interesting with this coffee shop versus others is that they open at 10am and not the normal 8am or 9am on a Sunday morning. When I arrived (about 15 minutes prior to them opening the shop), I found plenty of parking on the street. Behind the building there are more parking lots, so there is plenty of parking for the restuarants, bars, and shops in the immediate area. Upon entering the shop, there are little clusters of seating areas all over the cafe. The clusters have cushioned chairs, couches and comfy seating - not a hard seat in the place - which is perfect for meeting up with friends, grabbing an expertly made coffee drink and a delicious treat, sandwich, or salad. I ordered my go to: an iced oat milk mocha latte with an extra pump of mocha and some kind of pastry. On this occasion, I ordered a Nutella and banana crepe. When it arrived, the crepe was the size of the plate. It was sweet, but not too much, and had a nice blend of Nutella and banana, but it wasn't drowning in Nutella, which is often the folly and failure of other places that use this hazelnut spread. We had a lovely time and they don't shoo you out as more people arrive. The staff is friendly, the music is not too loud, and the ambience is conversational. It's a great location to meet up with friends and colleagues in Palatine. A place I will surely revisit. read more

Cute little cafe in downtown palatine! The staff were super friendly and there are a ton of options from sweet treats to savory bites. The menu is extensive and reasonably priced. The seating area and tables are cozy and are perfect for an afternoon catch up with friends or a breakfast date. I got a Nutella iced latte. WOW. Absolutely delicious! Random coffee run with the family but omg paid nearly $60 for 2 coffees a juice and 3 pastries. Not only the matcha wasn't close to being hot but it tasted like they added sand to it (yes I returned it and they replaced with regular plain cappuccino as requested) but those croissants!!! What a rip off! Ordered an almond and the only almond I had was few shavings on top of the chocolate dip. Then my daughters Oreo croissant with extremely over sweet white frosting sprinkled with crushed Oreo cookie. Even my daughter (and as you know kids love sweets) said it's way too sweet and was disappointed with it being empty (not filled). I will just not comment on my husband's iced Nutella coffee and Dubai roll.... read more

We have made this our go-to place. We're here just about every week. They have the best avocado toast! We're also partial to the turkey panini and have tried flatbreads, crepes and many pastries...all good! The owners are very genuine people and the team is polite and patient as we decide on which latte option we feel like having that day...Dubai is a fave. It continues to be a great place to unwind, catch up, and share ideas. We bring friends and always talk about this place with others. We have family in the city who have been here too and feel the cafe would "knock it out of the park in Chicago." We're grateful they're in Palatine and created this special place to share with others. read more

Cute, clean space. I think the ownership must have changed because this used to be Nelikona, but the offerings seem kind of similar but definitely different. Came with some friends and it was a nice place to get to chat with the right volume of music--it wasn't that busy during the weekday. The food menu looks interesting with crepes and brunchy items, but I just got a drink this time. What I got: Cappuccino with oat milk - This is usually my go-to order to test a new coffee place. The foam was too airy and not thick and velvety--but maybe if you like whole milk it would be different. The drink itself wasn't weak, so it's not too bad. I've definitely had worse. My only issue is that the drink menu has no pricing. You don't know what anything costs. The food options have prices, but drinks you're going in blind. The 12 oz. cappuccino was $5.85 and oat milk was $0.50 just fyi. read more

Yikes. If i could give 0 stars, i would. I ordered an iced latte, paid $8.52, and they gave me pre-pulled espresso that came out of a jug. Added it to a full cup of ice, and then topped it with oat milk. The espresso was obviously watered down and it tasted watered down. I paid nearly $9 for watered espresso and 2 oz of milk. I told the worker and she shrugged her shoulders and said this is what they do here. She was kind but very unhelpful. She did eventually make me a new matter with fresh pulled espresso but it's insane that that isn't the standard. It's robbery. $9 for a pre-made latte is insane. I would not recommend coming. 0/10. read more

Cozy coffee shop with pastries, crepes, sandwiches and more. Couch and table seating. Books for reading. Games for playing. Very nice staff. I ordered the Dubai coffee and peach cake. My partner ordered regular coffee and cheesecake all were very good. The Dubai latte was very sweet because of the pistachio buttered rim but the chopped pistachios made it a bit more savory. We will return and try the crepes for sure. read more

This place is an undiscovered, still private meeting spot for casual or special get-togethers that has one of the largest, most unusually wonderful menu selections of anywhere I've been in the last few years! Their attention to good, old-fashioned customer service is exceptional, giving customers plenty of time to decide on what they want or change it on the fly. And there are always plentiful smiles. Their offerings are listed on a long illuminated menu with pictures and prices so that everything can be easily seen and their counter is adorned with cloches filled with fresh versions of what their bakery had just freshly produced that morning. All orders are delivered to your table with culinarial creative special plate decorations and treatments that are always creative and unique. They have couches, chairs, little group sections and just about every configuration of sitting with other people that can be imagined. I love this place! There's an upright piano with music on the music rack so there's probably live music offered. The prices might seem a little high but they're no more than I've been regularly spending at Starbucks for the last fifteen years. Worth more than a try! Let me know what you think! read more

The ambiance is nice here. Came here and sat by the window which was nice and bright. The chairs are cute, but honestly, not too comfy. I enjoyed my Dubai Latte with oat milk. It came with pistachio cream, chopped up pistachios along the rim of the cup. And the cup was large and looked a bit elevated. The taste was good. The pistachio cream really helped the latte to have a good, sweet flavor. However, the price was a little extreme. I think it was close to $9 for the dubai latte with oat milk (I'm guessing the substitute milk was an additional charge). The menu at the counter did not have prices next to their drinks, and I didn't want to go about asking the price of each item since I believe the price is different for different drinks. But I was a little shocked when I paid. However, they did elevate the presentation of it a little more to match the higher price. And it's not too common to get a pistachio cream latte, so I guess you pay to get something more unique. This was a cute spot to hangout. I might be back again. read more

I was kind of skeptical about this place because of the coffee shop across the street inside the train station, but I decided to give it a chance and I do not regret it. I only got this wrap but now I wanna go back and try their drink selections and some of their pastries. I like how clean and simplistic the look is inside and it's very welcoming. This was my first visit and I can't wait to go back as everything about it was wonderful... The decor is very cozy. I loved the way my lavender latte was served and the breakfast crêpe had a beautiful presentation and was absolutely delicious. I love that they serve on actual plates with gold silverware.
