OK, we have downgraded it by a star and haven't visited recently because there was a server we really don't like (and I think they don't like us either), and there's no way to avoid them (don't know when they work and whether we would get assigned to them when we arrive. I won't get into the details but this staff kind of gives us attitude and questions our choices and also gets our orders wrong even tho we always order the same things. They just don't seem like they want to be there, and it is just a bit off putting. Having said that, we do occasionally still stop by. We have ventured out to try stuff that's NOT waffles. The kids liked the small quesadillas i think-- not greasy and nice plain flavors, easy to please the kids. My oldest really liked the tuna melt and it was good, and generous portions. Easy to split with the other kids. The ironman in comparison is so tiny and not worth the price-- which is really just paying for the "health" aspect of it. I get it. Everything's been consistently good, and the portion size is generous. 8.5/10 Eggs Benedict: Pretty classic, nothing unexpected, but done really well. Pros - Great friendly service, hot coffee with a carafe at the table for refills (much appreciated). Quick and uncrowded mid week. Cons - have tried twice for breakfast and each time, the dishes were underwhelming. First was the potato pancake eggs benny, which had an odd mix of flavors, spinach with a Mexicali-tasting sauce covering instead of hollandaise. Also came with a side of hash browns (unnecessary). Second visit had diced sausage with biscuits and gravy in a skillet over cubed potatoes (think tiny french fries). Even served steaming, the gravy was congealed (and quite bland). While the over-easy eggs (2, tiny and overcooked) meant there was not enough liquid to cover the nondescript biscuit (single, cut in half), much less any of the potato. Served with an unappetizing generic cup of fruit. Both dishes had melted yellow cheese (cheddar?) that didn't help with their lack of flavor. If you're into carb-heavy institutional-like breakfasts, this is a go to place. read more

I also ordered a cup of orange juice it was perfect, freshly squeezed orange juice is my favorite. The restaurant was clean and looked well-kept. It was served with a blackberry jam and honey butter- both of which were delicious! I had the Apple Date Omelette and it was great! I felt like it needed more dates, it was mainly apples. But overall yummy! The cinnamon roll pancakes were nice and fluffy but what truly won our group over was the monkey bread! It was hot, and fluffy! My cup of coffee was served and after a minute or two I was surprised with two coffee creamers still unopened floating in my coffee. I didn't order creamer but they must have been at the bottom of the cup before pouring. The place was dated but probably a typical old diner. So everything was pretty basic. What stood out was the Samoa frap and the Hawaiian French toast. That frap was soo delicious I got two. Came here for the first time on a Sunday during peak busy time around 11 AM with friends. Luckily it is located in a strip mall so parking was not difficult and also the weight was not that bad I think we waited about 15 minutes maximum and there is a seating area which is also convenient. There is there is indoor dining and outdoor dining however I believe for fall and winter there may not be any more outdoor dining. Everything we ordered was very generously portion and brought out very quickly and everything was so tasty. In fact I have been back several times since this original visit and brought other friends and family members. It tasted very nice, not overly sweet and I could taste the horchata, very refreshing. And I'd recommend you try it. The servings are huge, and they look appealing to the eye. But I will say the food was kind of disappointing, but the Nashville wings were better, so I think it's just the dish I picked that was red good. My problem with it was that the salmon wasn't seasoned that well, I would've preferred it with more seasoning, and I wish the spinach bed was seasoned as well. I actually have never been to Honey-Jam Cafe location, but I order take out from them pretty much every week, so my review is solely based on speed of fulfilling my orders and quality of the food. They prepare the food right away, and my driver never has to wait at the restaurant longer than few minutes, so that's satisfying. Now let's talk about food: OBSESSED. The Biscuiladas are absolutely delicious! We've also had Sope Benedicts before too and they were just as good, but Biscuiladas are our favorite! We also love the loaded fries on a side. Soups are pretty good too, but smaller portions if you're ordering as a side and they tend to spill a bit because the containers are not tightly sealed. Overall though, great food and quick service.
