Over the weekend, I ordered two Original Grand Slams and a T-Bone dinner with a side of hash browns and broccoli. The sides were whatever. The broccoli was mushy and salty, and the hash browns were oily. I asked for my steak medium, but I probably should've gone rare, considering how it came out, and Denny's is less than 10 minutes away from where I live. The steak was dry and overcooked. I'm thinking it kept cooking in the to-go container since it didn't get a chance to rest, which I expected might happen, but regardless, it did not hit the spot. I honestly could've made a better one at home, but when there are no ingredients at home, and it's freezing outside, delivery is the way to go. The pancakes were solid, though. When I actually go in person, I usually have a better experience with both food and service, but delivery is a hard pass for me from now on. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I ordered a dish that I always order and they charged me an additional $1.29 for garlic bread. I told the waitress I order this same dish almost every time I come in and bread always comes with it. She (Teresa) seemed bothered and got the mgr (Naz Sanchez) who was VERY sarcastic and said she wouldn't remove the charge even though I explained I order this dish a lot and it came bread. She said it never happened, basically calling me a liar. Also, when I asked another server what the mgr's name was, he turned and walked away fast. He seemed scared. He then did come back and said he's not allowed to tell me. He pointed in the direction of the mgr and said she's right over there, you can just ask her! I waitressed many years and have never not tipped, until today and I usually tip 35% plus the service was horrible! Alex greeted us when we walked in and we were pleasantly surprised to learn that Tuesdays kids eat free. My 10 year old daughter was not hungry so we took her meal to go. She picked chicken strips and a side salad. She loved it! My husband and I ordered the All America Slam for $12.99 and the second one was $1 so yummy! We forgot to take a picture because we were so hungry and did not think about it until after we ate! Highly recommend this location! Everyone is nice and the portion sizes are large! "It's an American Institution!" Denny's Arlington Heights is a pretty nice location. The food is always pretty good here, service can sometimes be a bit slow but they're always pretty friendly. Can't beat the omelette and hash browns - classic meal but with inflation I'd recommend the Grand Slam and I believe kids eat free on Tuesdays you just can't beat that. For me, this is a solid Denny's location when I'm looking for reasonably priced diner food that will fill me up near the southern Arlington Heights area. The seating is spacious though maybe a little dated at the moment. Service is quick, friendly, and efficient, Portion sizes are fairly generous. The parking setup is slightly confusing as this feels like it's in a little more cramped spot than many other Denny's locations, but there's plenty of it. In terms of cooking, this is a bit better than other Denny's I've visited in that the food comes out very hot, there are some noticable textures like crisp hash browns and crisp edges on pancakes, and the presentation is fairly good. The food also seems a bit less greasy overall than some other Denny's locations that I've been to. Overall, good option for a quick and reasonably priced meal if you're looking for diner food in the area. There's plenty of options to satisfy any craving. read more

My husband and I met a friend at this Arlington Heights Denny's. It had been a while since I've been to a Denny's. I forgot how good the food here could be. I got the chocolate shake and the cinnamon pancake slam. The slam comes with eggs, hash browns, bacon, and sausage. The shake was rich and sweet. The cinnamon pancakes were fantastic and may be my new favorite item there. The booth was small and cramped, and the server could have come over a couple of more times, but overall, we had a good experience. I look forward to coming back to Denny's. read more

Just went here for a snack with my daughter at night to get food to go. There was No cars in the lot and no one in the restaurant. We order season fries, hash browns and zesty nachos. Check and ordering was smooth however the food was terrible. I would think with the place being slow and not busy the food would be good quality. My daughter didn't even want to eat her food because it was nasty. Hash browns did not look or taste cooked at all. The season fries were burnt. I asked for extra sour cream for nachos and did not rcv it. This has to be the worst tasting food I've had at a restaurant ever honestly. I am very disappointed with how the food came out. I should have checked it before I left the restaurant. Because I would have asked for at least the hash browns to be cooked better. Haven't been to a Denny's for a while, but my sister said this one is pretty good with a nice variety on their menu. We sat down for a late lunch (early dinner) and the restaurant was pretty empty. Service was great with few customers, and our server was super friendly - and had awesome hair! ;-) The restaurant was on the cold side, but my niece and I didn't mind, and my wife and sister... well, dealt with it. The food was decent for the price. The accuracy, however, was pretty poor. Not sure if this was the order taking process, or the kitchen just doing whatever they wanted to do. One of us ordered seasoned fries - came out regular. Another ordered cheddar cheese and mayo on the cheeseburger - came with American and no mayo. Also asked for fries "well done" - came regular, even a bit soggy and just warm. Otherwise... accurate! :-\ So... it's a Denny's. Solid, predictable meals with good service. Special orders or requests are not strong. If you want what they have, as they have it, come on in! Otherwise... patience is a virtue. read more

There's an older white lady who works the midnight shift, my sons and I came in and waitted so we can be seated or seen..... we where standing right by the register, this employee act as if she was super busy counting money on her register. she leaves the register "I'm thinking she coming back to help me to be seated" 15-20mins later she comes back and asks me are we waiting for a pickup....
