    Brussel sprout salad
    Katie B.

Came here ion a Thursday night. We had great service. Tostados were good, not great. Brussel sprout salad was really good! I added brisket which was a mistake. There were a lot of fat pieces. I like supporting local businesses so will come again for sure.

    Elote. Yum!

I've been curious about the place--I think they opened in the last year. It's pretty good and I'm really looking forward to visiting the full restaurant. They had a truck outside the restaurant for the Pack the Highway event and had more on their menu than I would have expected but it of course was not their full menu (though the restaurant was open as well). I got a cheese quesadilla and some elote for us to share and it was good. The quesadilla came with a little bit of a peppery dip, which was really good. I haven't had that with a quesadilla before but I think my little one enjoyed it too (she's in a dip phase right now). The elote was really good as well and was even better when I squirted a bit of lime on. They have a parking lot and there's lots of parking along Northwest Highway and surrounding areas (but also some permit only parking since the Metra station is a block and a half away). Rumor has it that the margaritas were good so that'll pre part of my next order!

Well it was not what I had expected but that's not to say someone else may rate higher. The food was ok - we are picky so we asked for like sour cream and some spicy sauce in the side. Asked twice and never received. The Air conditioning was not on and it was our first day in the 80's so wasn't to uncomfortable just wasn't what we were looking for. They brought out grilled cheese when we asked for a kids cheese quesadilla . I have to say though that the kids grilled cheese looked good! The chicken taco was bland but the steak taco and the pork taco was great. My son had shrimp tacos and the shrimp looked good. The food itself was alright just wasn't comfortable after working outside all day - I will update as I am in the area A lot. Food is ok - give it a try!

New Venue Alert! Americanos in Edison Park is a must visit destination. With inviting décor and a festive atmosphere, the Margaritas are wild and made with all natural ingredients. The presentation of the food was beautiful, we had the following: Ceviche and chips. Highly recommend. Arrachera Served with rice and beans, knob onion, and jalapeño. The skirt steak is fantastic! Tostadas We tried steak and pork; both were delicious. Tacos We had the fish (deep fry battered cod) (my favorite) steak (skirt steak) al pastor (marinated pork) Salad (Brussell Sprouts Ensalada) I loved this! It's big enough for 2 people and really delicious! This is a great place to have a drink and watch your favorite sporting event. Have a wonderful meal with the family, or just come in for some chips and salsa.Or ceviche.

If you're ever in Edison Park and craving something bold, fresh, and full of flavor, you have to check out Americanos. This spot is known for their Mexican-American street food with a modern twist and they definitely deliver. I started with their guacamole, and you can immediately tell it's homemade because it's creamy, zesty, and super fresh. Then I tried the flautas stuffed with chicken Tinga and the seasoning was on point. But the real surprise? A fried chicken torta. I don't see this often, and it was so good --crispy, juicy, and loaded with flavor. I also went for three different kinds of tacos, and honestly, each one held its own. Flavor-packed, well-balanced, and just the right amount of kick. And if you're in the mood for a drink? This month they're featuring a blueberry lemon margarita--it's refreshing, a little tart, and the perfect pairing for all that spice. Americanos is definitely a solid go-to when you want street food done right

Just visited Americanos in Edison Park. The margaritas Fresca are a delicious treat with tropical flavors such as mango, pinaple, watermelon, strawberry, and more A good selection of beers 13 bottles 4 cans There is no on tap beer here. Yeah! Tequilas to satisfy any taste: Blanco, anejos, reposados, and premium, we counted 30 in all. A good selection of bourbon, and scotch and wine are also available. Ceviche Mild marinated shrimp with lime, a perfect companion for your Margarita!... Arrachera Served with delicious customary rice and beans, knob onion, and jalapeño. The skirt steak is the star, and it shines. We added shrimp (5.00 extra) but worth it; make sure to try a bite with a bit of each ingredient, i guarantee it won't be your last. Tostadas We tried steak and pork; both were delicious. A taco is just a taco unless you are at americanos; here they are an indulgence & a must try! Tacos We had the fish (deep fry battered cod) (my favorite) steak (skirt steak) al pastor (marinated pork) Salad (Brussell Sprouts Ensalada) It's big enough to share, but I doubt anyone will, not willingly at list. We added chicken and made for a full meal any time of the day. A few lovingly, but prominently displayed family pictures let you know this is a family restaurant, and the service is the same as a host welcoming you into their home. Chicken flautas!

Food was amazing! I have been on a quest to find faultas equal or better than Puesto's in CA. The cocktails, delicious! Service was almost nonexistent. Please hire an experienced server or gentleman if you plan on being the servers watch a YouTube video on proper table service.

WE LOVE AMERICANOS! Tacos are SO GOOD (coming from a Texan who eats tacos for breakfast, lunch, AND DINNER) (and i'm not obese im pretty thin actually!) Doe is the best bartender, he makes us giggle, and he makes us the BEST skinny spicy margs every time (keeps me thin! take notes ladies! we also had horchata bites let yourself indulge every now and then) This is second time I've been here when I come visit my twin sister in Chicago. I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO TACOS!

The best Mexican restaurant around! The quality of food is amazing and the margaritas hit just right! We come here for tacos (pork belly and shrimp are my favorites, hubby likes steak too), but today we ordered Fajitas (steak / shrimp) and a Taco Salad. Wow! So much food and flavor. Come, you won't regret it!

The tacos were tasty. The vibes are good. Friendly staff and tvs showing sports. The food wasn't very hot. Particularly the soup which was lukewarm warm. The drinks were good.

Stoped in for lunch and it was excellent. Started with guac and chips then had the crispy chicken torta. The chicken thigh was juicy and the breading was really crispy. Excellent flavors. Buddy had the burrito. Also tried the fish taco and the beer batter was perfect. Great flavors all around

It is a nice little casual spot. Meat in al pastor and brisket tacos were rather dry but skirt steak was nice.

Although we are from the area, we had never visited before, and the photos immediately caught our attention. The bar fit our vibe perfectly, and after visiting a few times, we knew it was the right place for us. We rented both spaces: the main bar upstairs and Nightshade, the speakeasy downstairs. Moonflower has a small stage in the main bar, which we used for our ceremony. The space already has so much character that it needed very little decorating. We brought small flower vases and an altar piece that the bride and her now mother in law made together. After the ceremony, we held cocktail hour and served food buffet style in the main bar. Later, everyone moved downstairs to Nightshade. Its lounge atmosphere and dance floor were perfect for our 50 to 60 guests. Some people relaxed around the cocktail tables while others danced, so everyone could enjoy the night in their own way. Moonflower's event organizer, Morgan, was wonderful. She made the entire planning process feel easy and was a joy to work with. She helped turn our ideas into reality, assisting with day of logistics, décor, beverage packages, and every question that came up. She was always responsive and available. Morgan also helped us think through details that had not occurred to us, including coffee for our guests, explaining the parking situation, contacting nearby businesses about using their lots, and recommending DJs. We ultimately hired one of the DJs she suggested. Her extra support was incredibly helpful and took a great deal of stress out of planning. If you have not tried Moonflower's drinks, you are missing out. Their regular cocktail menu is fantastic, and our experience was even more special because of a custom cocktail session with Zach. He created signature drink options for each of us based on our tastes and favorite cocktails. Every option was spectacular, and the final drinks felt personal and special. We chose Funeral Potatoes for the food. Since they already handle the food at Moonflower, we were able to try many dishes beforehand. Our guests raved about everything. We especially recommend the brussels sprouts, deviled eggs, and caprese sandwiches. Alexis, who heads up Funeral Potatoes, was also extremely helpful with selecting the menu. The only outside food we brought in was our wedding cake. The entire staff was phenomenal. Everyone treated the occasion with the perfect balance of care, professionalism, and fun. The night went off without a hitch and was truly one of the best nights of our lives. Moonflower was also extremely reasonable compared with other venues we considered in the city, especially with an open bar and food available on site. Street parking was plentiful, and none of our guests had trouble finding a spot. For anyone looking for a relaxed wedding for 50 to 60 people with a memorable lounge atmosphere, fantastic staff, buffet style food, and exceptional cocktails, Moonflower should be at the top of your list.

Street parking was easy to find which is a plus. Its walk-ins only but my party of 6 were able to get a table no problem on a Friday night. To drink, I started with the Oolong Martinez. It was good but way too strong for me so I just gave it to my husband lol. I opted for the Kiss & Tell instead except I asked for no mezcal. Much lighter and refreshing! I believe they have a downstairs lounge called "Nightshade" which serves their own special menu. My goal is to go downstairs next time! Their food is GAS!!! Everything I ate was a 5/5 for me - especially the party fries and the moon burger. We got the deviled eggs and funeral potatoes for the table and I was blown away (both of these menu items rotate flavors monthly). Also FYI - They have a photobooth!!!! I love photobooths!

The patio is overlooking the lake and was very scenic. ::The Service:: From host to waitress, everyone was friendly and attentive. Everyone was on the ball and very personable and warm. ::The Food:: The food and drinks were top-notch. Had the Smokey mezcal drink and strawberry vodka drink and both were superb. The Lebanese chicken wings and the flatbread were extremely flavorful and savory. The highlight was the caviar toast. DAMN!!! Pricey (it's caviar, duh!) but worth every penny. Big lot, quiet stretch of shoreline on the northwest side of town, and then the building itself sitting right on the water. Genuinely gorgeous on approach. Inside is a soaring converted church, and the first ten seconds are impressive. The tradeoff is exactly what those bones promise: it echoes, and it gets loud. Plenty of space beyond the main dining room too, with offshoot rooms they use for private parties and events. **Service** Our server ran the table like it was a chain casual spot, which isn't what this room calls for. Pushy pace, back every two minutes clearing plates we were still eating from, no sense of letting the meal breathe. It doesn't need to be steakhouse formal. It just needs to slow down and match the setting. Credit where due, they brought out a sparkler for the birthday, which always lands. **Food & Drink** - **Chicken Shawarma Rolls** -- excellent. Phyllo, cabbage, red peppers, mozzarella, spicy garlic aioli. Best thing we ate. - **Appetizers overall** -- consistently good, clearly the kitchen's strength. - **Raw bar** -- oysters, crudos, poke bowls, towers. Looks like the real move here. Going that direction next time. - **Halo Del Santo** -- spot on. Reposado, guava, coconut liqueur, lemon, tajín rim. Cocktails across the board were perfectly made. - **Steak** -- fine. Average. The mains were the weakest part of the menu, which stings at this price point. - **Banana sticky toffee pudding** -- I've had amazing versions. This wasn't it. **Verdict** Round it to **4 stars**, honestly a 3.5. Worth seeing the space once on its own. Treat it as an elevated happy hour, drinks plus apps plus raw bar, and it's a genuinely good time. Order deep into the mains and the value drops off. Slow the service down and it jumps half a star without changing anything in the kitchen.
