The mushroom risotto is my favorite pairing. The service is great. I wish the decor was a bit more "cozy" but, honestly, I come for the food. Each of my co-diners was happy with their steaks also. I hope they stay in Park Ridge forever!

My friend and i ate here based on the reviews and will say i would normally give this 2 stars BUT…read morethe service was so outstanding that I bumped it up to 3. First impression walking in was NOT great. We immediately smelled what can only be described as a VERY DIRTY bathroom smell. Other than the smell which we couldn't stop smelling until we ate and had some wine. The server was great to let us know that it was half off bottles of wine. And since the glass we initially wanted they didn't have this was a great option for us. We weren't able to finish the bottle so the server closed it up and sealed it in a bag for us to take with us. (Tuscan blend which was delicious) We ordered the Lobster Bisque to share to start with. The server/kitchen were kind enough to split it for us into two bowls. Overall the soup was good but NOT great. Then we ordered a bone in Ribeye (22oz) which came with crispy new potatoes and some some sautéed brocollini. We ordered the steak Medium Rare, it came out Medium + and since we were never checked in with on the temperature we ate it anyhow. The flavor was good but definitely far overcooked. The crispy new potatoes were perfectly crispy and the broccolini was sautéed and cooked very well. At the end of the day the service saved our experience. BUT because of the smell and the mis-cooked steak we would not return.

We ordered the octopus, patatas bravas, and the steak meal for two. The octopus was extremely overcooked and chewy, and the steak platter itself just felt underwhelming overall. Also... how does a Mexican steakhouse not provide tortillas with a steak platter? That honestly shocked me. The biggest confusion of the night was the patatas bravas situation. Our waitress forgot the dish entirely, then later brought over mashed potatoes and said they were "on the house." I was genuinely confused because I thought maybe this was their version of patatas bravas due to the seasoning on top. When I asked about it, she realized she accidentally brought mashed potatoes instead of the actual dish. She apologized and eventually brought the real patatas bravas, but even those tasted oddly sweet and missed the mark for us. To their credit, the staff did try to make up for it with complimentary shots, and the cocktails were honestly the best part of the experience. The space itself is gorgeous and has a very upscale vibe, but the food lacked cohesion and flavor for the price point. Sadly, not somewhere I'd personally return to.

We were not at all rushed and took the opportunity to try the interesting guacamole with ribeye chicharrons (kind of like beef jerky pieces) with a deliciously fresh watermelon cocktail while reading the menu and further deciding. The garnish of mango habanero caviar was disappointing in flavor and quantity. No heat or fruit flavor. Fresh blue chips were great but sparse ; fortunately, the table chips and salsa were equally good ( again, no heat) We proceeded to order the pulpo and 16 oz ribeye (which came with patatas bravas (so good !) and small house salad). Assured that chef was excellent at cooking to temperature and that was the case. We shared yet still didn't have to for dessert so plan accordingly if churros, cheesecake or très lèches cake are your things! I especially appreciated being asked if items could be cleared from the table rather than just being grabbed! Decor is black (which extends to the restrooms which were comfortable, clean, warm with average toilet paper and paper towels and coat /purse hooks in the stalls). But I did feel a kind of dungeon-y vibe. Also kind of 1970's which is not bad, just dated. While maybe not a destination spot, definitely worth a trip if you're in the area.

A loud obnoxious table of meatheads was behind us at dinner but the steak was truly the best I've ever had so one must endure. I had the filet with peppercorn and our shared sides and apps sampled were crab cakes, mashed potatoes, double baked potatoes, and brussel sprouts. All stellar. We all split the famous macadamia nut turtle pie which easily served 8 people. Amazing meal but would be nice to throw a little estrogen in with the testosterone overload. Service was unparalleled as well. Thank you for a memorable evening.

When I first walked in I thought it was a very small restaurant, but it's actually way bigger than it looks and they walked us thru a few different rooms before getting to our table in the back private room. We had the room to ourselves for the first 30 min of our meal, which was lovely. The service was beyond incredible. Fernando was our server who went above and beyond the entire meal. And Jason (i believe the manager) stopped by to chat and shared fun tidbits about the concert...as well as gave us detailed directions of how to find the venue within the casino. The food did not disappoint either. We started off with some oysters and the chilled vinegar sauce served with it was amazing. I got shrimp cocktail as my main meal, which may have been the best shrimp cocktail I've had in awhile. I often eat shrimp cocktail from Costco at home as a good protein snack, but it's going to be tough to eat their shrimp after a taste of Hugo's. My husband was very happy with his steak, but was nice enough to share some bites with me and I can see why he was thrilled. Seasoned and cooked to perfection. They said dessert was on the house in honor of my husband's bday. He's a huge carrot cake fan and they brought out a slice of carrot cake that could feed 15 people. We had a bit and they even stored the leftovers for us until after the concert so we could take it home to our cake loving children. Instead, it was one of the most chaotic and disappointing dining experiences we've had. Upon arrival, no one greeted us. When someone finally addressed the crowd forming at the entrance, the only thing said was, "Who came first?" There was no host presence, no organization, and no professionalism. After being seated, we waited 45 minutes without a single server acknowledging us. No water, no hello, nothing. Meanwhile, the restaurant continued packing guests in tightly. Customers were being asked to sit at dirty tables. Servers were telling tables it would be another 20 minutes just to take their order. My husband and I spoke with management directly. The response was indifferent and dismissive. There was no urgency and no accountability. When a server finally came to our table, he appeared annoyed and simply said, "Sorry." When I mentioned basic hospitality and said, "Hi, hello, good evening, sorry for the wait?" he responded that they "didn't think it would be this busy tonight." It was Valentine's Day. On a Saturday. Near O'Hare. Surrounded by hotels. With reservations booked weeks in advance. We ran into friends dining there who had the same experience. Unfortunately for them, their food had already arrived and it was undercooked, bloody meat. The guest next to us sent his steak back, and his partner did not eat at all. The frustration throughout the dining room was obvious. We ultimately walked out, and multiple other parties followed. We drove over an hour for this reservation, and by the time we left, many other halal options were already closed. Valentine's Day was completely ruined. This is not about being busy. It is about management, preparation, food safety, and basic hospitality. Extremely disappointing.

As Black customers, we felt unwelcome, overlooked, and treated differently from others around us. No customer should leave a restaurant feeling that way. Poor service is one thing.
