Went to Colletti's last night with two girlfriends and it was such a cute dinner spot I ordered an Aperol spritz and the lobster carbonara -- and WOW. The pasta was absolutely exquisite, super rich and flavorful, and the portion was generous enough for leftovers (which we love ). Also have to mention the complimentary bread with olive oil, garlic, and basil... honestly to die for. I could've made a meal out of just that alone. The only downside was the service was a bit slow. Our waitress wasn't very attentive, especially when we were trying to order more drinks -- we had a hard time tracking her down. Overall though, the food really delivered and I'd definitely come back, just hoping for a bit more attentive service next time! read more

First time here. Met some extended family for dinner the day before Thanksgiving. We were there literally from 5-10pm catching up and had a great time. As a party of 9, we never felt rushed (obviously) and were always well taken care of. Ambience was great. Service was outstanding. Food was good. Big cool bar and good food. On Easter I had the Broasted Chicken - potatoes, coleslaw & a side of honey. I made a mistake - I should have ordered more bread. It was delicious. My grandma passed away so we had a gathering in their private event room. The service was wonderful and the food was delicious. Some standout dishes were the mashed potatoes, veggies and vodka penne. The bartender was friendly (I believe her name was Jan) and she made us all feel welcome. The food was good. We had a Valentine's Special that came with an appetizer, salad, main course, and dessert. Our bacon wrapped scallops were ok. You couldn't taste the scallops but the habanero dipping sauce was good. Not too spicy. Our salad was amazing! Lots of different flavors that went together wonderfully. Linguine Di Mare $28.95 Gulf shrimp, octopus, sea scallops, calamari, and pei mussels, in a zesty lobster and tomato sauce. Sounds good...yea that's what I thought boy was I was wrong!!!! The pasta was tremendously over cooked and ridiculously gummy to the point of being inedible. The seafood was overcooked and rubbery...the mussels were steamed to the point that they looked withered. Probably the most offensive part of the dish was pool of water everything was sitting in that's... water... NOT sauce. Their ribs are exceptional, and their seafood is usually above average. Pasta sauces are good, but I've had better marinara. The atmosphere is cozy with a yesteryear ambiance that is comforting. I attended an industry-sponsored Lunch and Learn event. The fond memories this place brought back were a bit overwhelming. Colletti's has been a stable for decades. The interior has changed since the last time I was there. It seemed more spacious and meticulous. In addition to different dining sections, a party room can host events like the one I attended. Their delicious thin-crust cheese pizza was available while participants checked in. For lunch, we were served broasted chicken, Italian sausage with peppers, mashed potatoes, and green beans as sides. The chicken was outstanding. It was tender and succulent. The Italian sausage had a nice flavor and was enjoyable. To end the meal, we were treated to Italian Ice (not on the menu) and coffee. The staff was excellent and personable. There is a private parking lot with plenty of spaces. The overall ambiance was cozy and welcoming. Make sure to check out three framed historic menus on the walls. I've known about Colletti's for a long time since my grandmother lived in the general area and I've heard about their amazing pizza many times. My boyfriend and I came here for dinner, prior to driving through Edgebrook and looking at fancy Christmas lights (always a fun holiday thing to do!). We made a reservation, but there was no need for it. We were seated in the bar area, which was fine. It's nice and dim with a nice woody ambiance. Our server was friendly, though English was not her dominant language and ordering was a bit challenging. I ordered a Diet Coke and she thought I said decaf coffee but I got the soda and was charged for coffee. Hmm... We had the JR's Cheese Bings for an appetizer. Basically, standard cheese curds deep fried with some marinara. They were tasty! We ordered an 18" pizza with pepperoni and tiny meatballs. Their crust is very thin and very cheesy. The pepperoni was pretty standard and the tiny meatballs were very good and well seasoned! I'm part of a Chicago area pizza Facebook group and after sharing a pizza picture, I was told that Colletti's bakes their pizza in a Faulds oven. Not sure if that's true, but if you know about pizza and the old school Faulds ovens, you know you're in for some good pizza! Overall, I would come back here again...the sooner the better! read more

Having just moved to Jefferson Park, we've been slowly trying out all the area had to offer. We heard so many good things about this place and decided to give it a try last night. With live music, Hawaiian Night themed ambience, and perfectly lit patio, the place appealed to me right as we walked into the door. Our server (Fabian was the name I believe) was the NICEST and most helpful person I have seen in a while. He wasn't just good, he was EXCEPTIONAL! He alone made this as a five star review solely on his service. The menu was a bit unexpected as I had thought this was strictly a traditional Italian restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised to see all of the other options that were available as well. Being that it was Hawaiian Night, I decided to go with the Mai Tai and the Hawaiian Salmon. Both were absolutely delicious. I was a bit worried that having so many options on the menu, they might not be able to keep everything fresh. However, the entree was fresh, hot and delicious! This old school Italian restaurant/banquet hall is vaguely reminiscent of the late, great Como Inn, but the décor is updated and spiffy. The menu covers broad territory and we haven't yet tried many of the items listed, but what we've ordered here in the past has been generally excellent. This time, we went for the broasted chicken, which the restaurant has been promoting as a new menu item. The 4-piece chicken dinners include a choice of soup or salad, broasted potato wedges (substitutions are permitted), and a choice of creamed corn or coleslaw. Our meals were just excellent. On this visit, the main dining room had recently reopened and was operating at 50% capacity. But the room was inadequately staffed. After serving our entrees, the lone server became preoccupied with new arrivals including a party of 6. We attended a fall dinner last night 11/20/24, and the food was mediocre, at best. As always, the food was served family style.I almost choked on the lettuce with so much vinegar in the dressing. The portion was very skimpy. The beef was sliced so thin you could almost see through it.After the beef, potatoes, and vegetables there was almost a 20 minute wait before the pasta with vodka sauce appeared. It too, was tasteless, and very orange. Real spumoni is delicious. What we had for dessert, was not. Our waitress was excellen, however,She saved the evening. We have been a customer of Colletti's for better then 25+ years on average once a week. You would think the owner would acknowledge his regulars (the busmen always do) with a nod or a Hello. He never has! The straw that broke the camels back this week was when I ordered the broasted chicken dinner and my husband and I never got our salad or soup. The waiter took our drink order and that was the last we saw of him until he delivered dinner. We asked what happen to our soup and salad, he shrugged. I ate me chicken and when the up of coleslaw on my plate was the next to be eaten it was the cabbage ends (not edible- it should have been in the trash) I showed it to him and he took it to show the manager and he did nothing about it either. Had my fill of the bad service and cold shoulder given to us, I can and will spend my $ anywhere. Keep that in mind when going there. read more

Delicious lunch today of fish and chips. Very tasty and fresh. Service was outstanding too.

We were seated right away and started with some cheese curds and a couple caesar salads. I had the chopped steak dinner with mashed potatoes and the wife had the shrimp scampi. The caesar salad was a very tasty, all the way down to the fresh cracked pepper. The cheese curds were amazing and the home made marinara was out of this world! I've never had chopped steak before, but I'd have it here again in a heartbeat...and those mashed red potato's...yummy. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the shrimp was perfectly seared in a butter garlic sauce that you'll happily finish dipping your leftover bread in. Fantastic find! The portions were just perfect and the prices were extremely reasonable. I'm so disappointed with the service at Colletti's!!! We did a "pick up" last week of three meals, and to our surprise, one was fine and two had a rotten smell! I think a common ingredient went bad. We called and we were told that they would credit us for the two meals and they would put it on our telephone number for the next time we ordered. Well we went to bed "hangry" but accepted the situation. Today, we decide to try Colletti's again. Things don't go well. Again!!! Colletti's has been good to us before, things happen and we wanted to get pass it so we give them a call to place a delivery this time. We call, they find our credit but then tell us that the credit was ONLY HALF of the price of the two dishes! What!!!!!! So last time we didn't eat and this time only half of the meals will be compensated!!!! I was so frustrated I asked the manager to cancel the whole order because that is definitely not what she told us last time! She then says, give me a minute let me talk to the owner. She comes back and says sorry, he said no. I can't believe it!!! We have been regular customers for over 10 years! I was so hurt at this point! I told her again, just cancel!The manager then says that I can't cancel the order because she already put the order in with the kitchen. I told her again that I needed this canceled. We really tried to make things right with this place but they didn't seem interested in keeping long time customers so we will move on and find a new "go to place." Bye Colletti's! We have continued to go to Colletti's semi-regularly since my last review three years ago. It was one of the first outdoor patios we visited once outdoor dining reopened this summer (it's my all-time favorite for patio dining in Chicago), and we've been back several times since. We've also ordered delivery on many occasions over the past eight months. This week we ate in the dining room, on the last night before a new wave of COVID cases have forced a shutdown of indoor dining in Chicago. It was the first time we'd eaten inside at Colletti's since early this year, but we felt it was important to give them our support, even though inside dining right now makes us a bit uncomfortable. We asked for a table near the back of the dining room, comfortably social-distanced from other diners, and they were happy to accommodate. My meal was excellent. I usually get one of their Italian dishes here, or an Oktoberfest sausage plate the last time I was here, but this time I decided to opt for the filet. I don't remember having a steak here before, and it was one of the best I've ever had. It was prepared perfectly, nice and red and juicy and cooked all the way through, just like a medium rare should be. The small container of jus on the side was salted just enough that I didn't need to salt or otherwise season the steak itself. I had the cream of potato soup as my first course, and it was delicious -- thick and creamy. Instead of one of the usual sides, I always opt for a plate of angel hair. Tonight I forgot to ask for my usual oil and garlic, but the marinara was good. I tried a bite of the broccoli that came alongside the fillet, but it was unseasoned, so I abandoned it and focused my attention on the steak. My cocktail of choice that evening was a dirty vodka martini with blue cheese olives. I'm usually a Manhattan girl, but every once in awhile I'm in a saltier mood. One of Colletti's charms is that their bartenders know how to make all of the classic cocktails well. Both of my martinis this night, and the Manhattans I usually have here, are always perfectly crafted. Our server, Desi, was wonderful -- friendly and attentive. We enjoyed chatting with her during her visits to our table. We also learned that night about a couple things that will help us enjoy safe dining going forward. The owner is constructing a roof on the patio and adding heaters, so that hopefully we'll be able to eat out there for at least part of our cold season in Chicago. We also learned that, once we can dine inside again, if we're more comfortable eating in one of their private rooms by ourselves, the restaurant is happy to provide us with this option if there's a room available.
