Really cool Italian Restaurant on NW HWY that is quite spacious. The interior is beautiful and there are opportunities to sit out on the patio. We had a reservation and the hostesses were friendly, taking us to our table right away. My guest and I enjoyed wine and ordered their truffle fries and enjoyed a roasted acorn squash salad. It was plenty enough to share. I followed it up by their Chicken Limone. You are able to choose a protein and any Italian preparation. Our server was friendly and attentive. I like this place, the vibe, the service and the parking on thr street or by valet is okay. But it's so frickin' loud here! It's deafening and you will need to shout to speak to the person next to you. Meeting friends we haven't seen in a long time it was hard to hold a conversation. On the food, they have a nice menu. Not a lot to go with if you're a vegetarian but they have good staple dishes. Ordered a salad to share which was not overly impressive but fine. The margherita pizza was very good. So we used to go to Zia's Trattoria on Talcott so we were really disappointed with the change in location, menu, and ambience. First of all it feels like you're in some sort of industrial warehouse. Maybe that's chic to some people but it certainly doesn't have a good feel. Then the dining area is wide open and again it just feels wrong. Our servers were fine although I can't even remember what we ate since it was four months ago right at Christmas time. All I know is that we didn't then and still don't want to return given the strange ambience of the place and there was nothing spectacular about the food that overcame our feelings about the weird atmosphere. read more

I've been to Zia's multiple times for both bridal showers and dinners, and every visit has been a wonderful experience. The bridal showers I've attended were held at the far end of the dining room past the bar, so while I can't speak for the upstairs party room under Zia's (I've only seen it back when it was Iron Horse), the downstairs space is fantastic for group gatherings. They also have a pretty large outside space, but I have yet to dine there, either. As for service, the staff here is always friendly, attentive, and excellent at what they do, making sure every guest feels comfortable and well taken care of. My parents come here more often than me, and they also have had nothing but good service. Some of the waitstaff even know them by name. The food is consistently amazing, as well. I've tried a variety of dishes from both their catering and regular menus, and everything has been a hit. Some favorites include the Chicken Vesuvio; Zia Pena Salad which has a combination of pears and walnuts that is so refreshing ($12/$16); Penne Piedmontese($21); Maile con Pancetta which has a delicious salty flavor; and the 8 Finger Cavatelli, which is one of my personal favorites ($23). I recently attended a family function (son's 50th BD) .. we entertained 20 people for dinner .. the ambiance is Good - not Great .. it appears to be a building that was once a garage of some kind .. we were seated in the rear of restaurant that was adjacent to their "outdoor" dining section .. it was hard to talk/listen and the draft from the heated patio was less than desired .. -- HOWEVER -- the food and service was GREAT !! .. we were served family style .. several portions of salads .. pastas .. meat entrees .. I felt we could have used two servers for our group .. but server we had was F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S .. I slipped him a $20 so he would understand how appreciative we were .. overall a nice and enjoyable evening .. We arrived at 3, service started at 3:30, the waiter seated us and we ordered drinks promptly. We ordered: Limone Chicken. (3.5 stars) the chicken was a little rubbery and the lemon sauce was borderline too much especially with capers too. I'd still ate some of it and did enjoy the potatoes. Caluzza Chicken (4.5 stars) a mild sauce, chicken and pasta. The veggies were good. Make our own pasta, with fucilli and red sauce (4 stars) Truffle frites (4 stars) the fries were pretty good. The outdoor space was beautiful and nicely done, but sometimes when it's windy, it's not easy to eat and the food can get cold quickly. There's a big outdoor section and you have choices of where to sit where there's more light or more wind and more exposure, but they also have umbrellas, which are very helpful. The food was very good, especially the lasagna that was individually done and made from scratch and inside an individual cast iron pan. The portion was amazing and it's wonderful if you're starving. Otherwise you can have a leftovers. The fish special for bass was really good after we asked them to make it simple without the sauce. It came out way too salty the first time. And for $30, We didn't think it was worth it because the fish wasn't very plump or juicy and there wasn't a lot of fish. The sausages and peppers were very good and tasty and fresh. The drink was very good. The wait staff were very attentive. There is Free Parking on the street if you can find it and it wasn't that difficult to find. There is no private parking lot. Overall, it's a beautiful and big restaurant and the food is very good. They have chewy Italian bread on the house that comes with grated Parmesan cheese and some vinegar, flavored vegetable vegetables, and olives. read more

Stopped in because I had a about 30 minutes while I was waiting for my car to be washed. It was pretty busy in the restaurant area with apparently being served at 1:45ish. I sat at the bar and there was no bartender. There was a side bar area set up with people making pitcher upon pitcher of what looked like a pink mimosa style cocktail being served all over. It took me 7 minutes before I was approached and had to wave down a man in an apron. I asked for a Paloma and a menu. I was told brunch was being served for another 15 minutes and was given that many. The Paloma was served, no salted rim and certainly did not look like a Paloma . It was horrible. I asked for Casamigos Repasada. I don't know what they used but it was not that. I ordered calamari from the lone server, who was nice enough but surely in the weeds. I received my calamari and found numerous pieces of breaded and fried pepperoni along with it. Obviously the prep line needs a good cleaning. I finished and again I waited for someone, anyone to bring me my check. That took another 8 minutes once I was done and looking around for anyone to get their attention. Needless to say I didn't tip, and wrote why on the receipt. I mentioned the above to a female hostess and asked her to pass it along, she looked aloof. Sadly this place has been a disappointment since leaving uptown Edison Park. read more

That said, I have no idea what's going on in this bill other than to say, I'm never ordering alcohol there again and given that I usually like to have a drink when I'm with my wife on date night on Friday or Saturday... my time with Zia is over. When my wife saw the look on my face she knew we wouldn't be back anytime soon. $12 for my bourbon and $3 is to pour it into a glass... No, thank you. I would say this restaurant is one of my favorites for its consistency, service, quality and the setting. It's one of few places that really hits all targets without chipping a nail. I've visited now on several occasions and for various affairs: birthdays, catching up with friends and a date. I've sat at the bar, in the dining room and in the outdoor patio in summer. Every experience has been memorable and noteworthy. Never once have I had a dish or drink I didn't enjoy. Pizzas are all delicious..figs and prosciutto? Uh, yes please! The squash stuffed ravioli in brown sage sauce and drizzled with hazelnuts is divine! The brusselsprouts tossed with bacon are another go-to. The staff know what they're doing from the host to the bussers. You really get an experience each visit and there is not one thing I can think of that I don't like about this place. I recommended a friend and her new love interest, but they were under the impression it was a fine-dining place. And while it's certainly well maintained with a trained staff and quality food, it's a casual venue with a fine-dining ambiance. If that helps. You deserve it! Enjoy! read more

We have dined at Zia's a few times now, and it exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, the service was all around fantastic. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel truly welcomed. The menu offers a wide variety selection of entrees. Each dish we tried was very delicious, including appetizers, pasta, pizza, salads, & much more! The Carbonara In A Jar is served table side for dinner. One of the highlights of our past experience was the outdoor space, where my soon to be MIL hosted my bridal shower. The ambiance was perfect, with amazing service throughout the shower. It provided the perfect backdrop for a memorable celebration and a lot of natural lighting for perfect photos. All of our guests had a fantastic time and enjoyed the pre-selected menu. The Braciole was a favorite! Overall, I highly recommend Zia's for anyone looking for great food, exceptional service, and a beautiful setting for special occasions. Had a last minute urge for Italian and being Labor Day we were unsure what was open so we decided to try Zia's . They started with complimentary bread and we worked our way into our meals. I had the wood fired pizza, my son had the steak, daughter just had a salad and the Mrs had a pasta dish. Food was good- service was good and the desert was big enough for all four of us. I've never been to the original Zia's in EP but when I talk to locals, there always seems to be a benchmark for this place. We live down the block from it so we often find ourselves here for a nightcap during the week or weekend. Upon entry, its a beautiful, large restaurant. Definitely good for large parties. They have a happy hour which I've yet to try and their brunch menu looks decent as well. Parking is on the street but we often find space regularly. We decided to finally try their menu for dinner one evening. Smaller menu than anticipated. Their pizzas don't look that great; there are way better wood oven pizzas in the area. I decided to try their ravioli Di zucca. Sweet! Sweeter than I anticipated, but overall a pretty good dish. My boyfriend had the polenta and braciola off of the appetizer side of the menu which surprisingly filled him up. Our dishes arrived really fast after ordering so that was a plus. I like this place. I never had the original Zia's as a benchmark to compare to. It has potential to be a better restaurant. If they considered making their menu larger and I do find the prices to be a little above average - for food and drinks. I didn't walk out with a raving feeling, just average. I think if I didn't live down the block, I'd be here as often as I am. I think that's the reason for 3 stars this time around. read more

Visited Zias for the first time this week. The interior is lovely. Spacious and comfortable. Friendly service from our waiter. Party of three - two ordered pasta dishes and one ordered a veal entree. They were all basically good, although we would not say any were particularly delicious or memorable. So, no difference in in Zias food from many others in our area. I do not fault any restaurants for adding CC surcharge to bills as long as it's clearly noted before ordering. That being said, knowing that it's becoming the norm we generally stop at an ATM so that we can pay in cash rather than being charged for using a debit card. So Zias was paid in cash, presumably to avoid any charges other than for our food and drink. Really chintzy of them in my opinion to tack on a $3 surcharge for "sharing" their house salad, which is listed on the menu as serving two people. (Noted on the check as salad sharing.) The salad was quite large, and honestly the best thing we sampled. There are no individual salad options on the menu, the salad is already advertised as serving more than one person, if there is a "sharing" fee imposed I honestly did not see it. As we were dining out for a somewhat special personal occasion I did not want to spoil the evening on a bad note by complaining. Not wanting to quibble was my choice, so that's on me. So check paid. But, in my opinion this fee was so unwarranted that it's left me unlikely to visit Zias again. read more

We've been wanting to visit Zia's 'new' location for some time and finally did. A beautiful night and we were seated on the edge of indoors and outdoors which was fine. We ordered the 'shareable' appetizer Shrimp Scampi. While it was fabulous, the dish arrived with 5 shrimp for 2 people to share. Really? We ordered the Linguini Pescatore and the Ravioli di Zucca as entrees. The Ravioli were large pillows stuffed with butternut squash and the Pescatore was a plate full of perfectly al dente linguine topped with fish from the sea. I asked for the 'not spicy' red sauce and the marinara was excellent. We left stuffed and content and will likely return again before too long. read more

We went during their brunch hour, so we got the brunch menu. They also have adifferent menu for dinner but that begins at 4:30 Anyway, it's really nice inside. Nice bar area, then a nice clean open, bright dining area thanks to the glass ceiling. It's very nice. We ordered the Breakfast Pizza and the Brussel Sprout Salad. Nice size for 2-3 people. There were two of us and we stuffed ourselves. The breakfast pizza was good. The dough was good. The toppings were Bacon, Sopprasata, caramalized onion, taleggio, honey, and baked eggs. It was a nice mix of ingredients. You get two eggs on top which are basically over easy. Not a bad breakfast pizza. It was good The Brussel Salad was not what I expected. I expected a bowl of brussel sprouts in a salad form, instead it was a bowl of mixed greens with small shavings of Brussel Sprout. My opinion here, the name on the menu should be changed to a mixed green salad. When We got the salad we thought we were served the wrong one. The Brussel sprout were shaved into the salad so you basically do not taste nor see the sprouts because it's overpowered by the mixed greens and the other ingredients. The salad is not bad it is good, but it needs a name change. Overall, the food was good, the service was good too. I'm going to go back to try there dinner menu which starts at 4:30. read more

I recently had my baby shower at this restaurant (beautifully organized and thrown by my sister-in-law) and I was very impressed with the location, food, and service! The weather was gorgeous on the day of my baby shower so we had our event outdoors and it made the ambiance that much better with warm weather. We did a brunch and mimosa type of event so there was always mimosas, bloody Marys, coffee, and tea available for our guests. For our food menu, we had the breakfast pizza, French toast parfait, and Waldorf salad. Not going to lie, was a little hesitant about the breakfast pizza but after one bite, I was hooked! Food was absolutely delicious that I'm upset we didn't knw about this restaurant sooner! Service was great! We had one server that went around during the event to take everyone's drink orders and provided refills as needed. He was very attentive and made sure our orders were always correct. So happy to have my baby shower at this location and will definitely be back just to dine at this fine institution! read more
