Bringer Inn is an absolutely gem of a community meeting space. We walked in on a Friday night and it was packed and lively with plenty of people! We had some fish fries, pizza and cold drinks while enjoying some of the games on. Our waitress was super nice and friendly. Gotta say, I'm really envious of all the people who live within walking distance, I'd be here every weekend!

This is really more of the food review since we didn't avail ourselves to the bar this time. I got the Reuben sandwich cause it had the star on the menu. It was alright but could've used a little (a lot?) more dressing. A lot of the others in the group ordered wraps so maybe that's the way to go? They have so many potato options (fries, chips, crinkle, curly, tots, etc) - and the chips, at least for me, was really fresh. Also, the prices are still pretty competitive - at least nowadays. It is one of the older establishments in town and it kinda is a little run down. I mean, some of it is character and some of it just a lot of loose extension cords running around.

When we got there I saw that he was exactly right. This is right in the middle of a residential area and these people who can just open their front door and walk a few steps to some Pizza are living the dream. The building is pretty small for the amount of people that they squeeze in there. But they were extremely accommodating with us and squeezing in some extra people at our table, which was much appreciated. We had a reservation, which was 100% the right move for how busy this place gets. I had done some research on what their pizza was like so I wasn't surprised when I saw the crust, which some people might think is burnt but it is not. Instead it is caramelized. It was definitely interesting and unlike other versions of Chicago Deep Dish I have tried. The sauce was also quite good. If I'm being 100% honest, this wasn't my favorite Deep Dish I had while in Chicago but it was definitely in the top contenders.

The place itself is pretty small and has an older vibe (I think it's one of their original locations). The pizza was good, don't get me wrong, but I personally didn't get the crazy hype around it. It's solid deep dish, just not something I'd go out of my way for. That said, we still had a fun time overall. Service was friendly and attentive, which made the experience better. Parking is street parking, so keep that in mind if you're going during busy hours.

Make sure you read the signs since they can be confusing. Also, they accept any payment except for checks. Do people even bring their checkbooks into restaurants these days? lol. You can dine inside or outside. I believe they have a heated patio outside. We dined inside, it was a shame that we couldn't sit at the booth where Anthony Bourdain's picture is. It was occupied. We ordered cheese curds and a medium sized pizza. For toppings, we chose sausage, mushrooms, and fresh garlic. This is not deep dish pizza, I would say it's more of a pan style. It's not heavy like at Gino's East or Giordano's. It has that famous caramelized crust and that airy dough. The toppings were super fresh. We immediately tasted the garlic. Burt's own special blend of the sausage tasted homemade. If you dine in, they cut it for you. If you take it home, you should already have a pizza cutter in your kitchen. Don't be lazy, it's very inexpensive. The cheese curds were generous and very tasty. They're like bite size mozzarella sticks. Service was great and attentive. Prices were cheap.

We dined out on the patio, enjoying a nice summer breeze and letting the kids mess with the chalk wall as they were less patient waiting. Pizza is definitely worth the wait, which is not as long as other deep dish places. Fresh brews on tap, casual and nice for conversations. My only complaint would be the chairs are not comfortable to sit in for long, and were not wide enough for my mid-size hips. And sometimes outside we got wafts of cigarette smoke. Still, it's a great spot not to be missed. It changed our minds on deep dish!

PIZZA LOVERS BEWARE!!! The Detroit pizza which I was told…read morethey are famous for was horrible!! My pizza was burnt on the bottom and it tasted like burnt olive oil, they overcooked it so much that it wasn't even cheesy. It was dry. We paid extra money to have extra pepperoni. Put on the Pizza as you can clearly see, it was not there. The second pizza ordered was a vodka sauce pizza with sausage, roasted, red pepper and garlic. When you lift it up the cheese, you couldn't even find the vodka sauce on there, this pizza was extremely greasy! I called the establishment and asked if I could speak to a manager, the gentleman that got on the phone happened to be the owner. I tried to explain to him everything going on with the pizza, he offered to make us a new one. But at this point, why would we want another Pizza? When we had everybody that was here who had a couple pieces and weren't happy with it. My son at this point was very upset. Because we spent $73 for these 2 pizzas. We asked the gentleman if we could just get some money credited back to our card Since it was a failure. My son was in the background, talking about how he had detroit style pizza from jets, and it was ten times better. The owner I guess was upset by hearing this because he ended up hanging up on me. I think this was a very unprofessional manner. And attitude that this gentleman had with me.Stating and being an owner! His excuse for the pizza being that way is that he didn't make it because he had to run out and make some pizza deliveries. Well I suggest if you're gonna leave other people in the kitchen to cook your pizzas that they should know how to cook a pizza!! Save your money people!!
