Sizzle is on Oakton in downtown Skokie with super easy street parking. They have huge floor to ceiling windows at their store front and they are open late! The store is brightly lit and clean (almost sterile feeling) when you walk in, with plenty of tables for dine-in eating. There is a counter to order with menus on the wall. The menu is simple and straight forward, you pretty much have burger, chicken sandwich, or wings. They also have a boba menu with many flavors and they have a soft serve ice cream machine! My partner and I had stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner and we dined in. The gentleman who took our order was very kind and as it was my first time in, answered all my questions about the menu as I ordered. I got a chicken sandwich (but without whatever their signature spicy ... addition? topping? seasoning? is) and a strawberry boba. My partner got a ghost burger, loaded fries, and a pina colada boba. We grabbed a table to wait and the boba came out first. These are super delicious, I've never ordered a boba anywhere else and had it come out like these, but they are like blended and creamy and also some of the best "popping" or "tapioca" additions/mix ins that I've ever had. I went back the next day to get another strawberry boba it was so delicious. The food here is over the top good. The sandwiches and fries come out loaded and messy and in huge portions. The chicken sandwich is so moist and tender, they are definitely frying chicken right here. The house sauce is tasty, flavorful and not too spicy. Neither of us were able to finish our orders here (you really get your money's worth!) but we left stuffed to the brim. I'm so happy this spot is within walking distance for me, I can treat myself to their delicious boba any time, and we will definitely be back for more sandwiches. Thank you, Sizzle! A newer restaurant to downtown Skokie, how exciting! We love seeing all these new places opening up and livening the downtown area. We were in the area and decided to stop by. When you walk in you can tell it's a new restaurant, the sleek clean simple and modern design. What threw me off was not having someone there for a bit but then I realized there's a bell to ring for someone to come out. They are a halal restaurant which is so great to know and have. They have some great food specials. We got the blended Thai tea and it was decent, not too sweet. Overall a good experience, looking forward to coming back to trying other things on the menu. read more

Chic modern design but it was lit like the sun and dead silent. So it was slightly uncomfortable. That said the host was charming, burgers had just the right amount of kick, and were messy and delicious. I actually loved this place. And it's so conveniently close to home for me which makes me excited! My husband got the ghost burger which was delicious, just a little too saucy for my liking. I got the chicken sandwich which I dream about getting again. Perfectly crispy and sauced. We also did try the mango habanero wings which we weren't a fan of. They were super small and wasn't spicy at all. I do still need to try their drinks. They did just open and might have been short staffed so be patient! Definitely will be back. read more

I've been on a bit of a quest to find amazing smash burgers in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. My next stop on that quest was at Sizzle in the Chicago suburb of Skokie. First, the food is delicious. I ordered the loaded fries with chicken, a ghost burger and a six piece chicken wings (for my wife, she ate them and liked them. I did not try them). The loaded fries with chicken was very good. The chicken could have been a bit more juicy, but the taste was still good. The fries were cooked to a golden brown perfection. One note of warning, the sauce was very spicy. I enjoyed it, but it might not be for everyone. The ghost burger was one of the better loaded smash burgers I had. It has two patties and features an egg and bacon. This was the star of the show. They also sever ice cream and boba, but I didn't order any of those items. The service was adequate. The man at the counter was oddly quiet, but he was polite and accurately took my order. The food came in a satisfactorily amount of time. The ambiance was simple and modern. The restaurant is painted in a two tone white and light blue color, and there a few tables for diners with what I felt like a lot of open and unused space. Each dish can on a plate shaped like a ghost, which was a cool touch. Overall, this spot needs to be on your list for your next smash burger and is worth the trip from Chicago. read more

I wanted badly to give this a 5 but the menu is a bit misleading in the ingredient description. The burgers are hottttt. I thought I was safe and getting a regular burger by taking off the sauce and jalapeños but our family couldn't even finish the burgers they were so spicy with what seemed to be cayenne pepper. The fries also come with the seasoning and we didn't have an option to go without. I just hope they soon offer a burger with no bold spices. read more

Sizzle? More like fizzle. (My gf came up with that one) Ordered from Grubhub. Food was 45 minutes late. French fries were cold and hard, but they tasted decent and microwaved well (surprisingly). Burger was just...bad. My partner and I both hated it. The potato buns were cold and the patties were lukewarm. Five Guys is better. Shake Shack is WAY better. Culver's is a little better. As a downtown Skokie resident, I'm sooo happy Sizzle is open. We need more burger and boba places. I got a chance to try the burger, chicken sandwich and loaded fries during their soft opening and everything was really good. Went here for lunch and got the regular signature sizzle burger and loaded beef fries+ a can of coke. Came out to about $20.00. But it was a delicious smash burger, with a lot of interesting toppings. I also liked the beef loaded fries. They were seasoned well and crispy! So for something out of the ordinary, I think the price was fair. The burger was a little too saucy for me tho, and I can understand how some people may not want all the fixings it comes with (but you can just ask for it the way you want I suppose). Also food took like 15 mins in an almost empty (like 1 other person) restaurant. It was 11:30 so I don't know how the lunch rush is going to be, but think twice f you're in a hurry (I actually was). Just had the best burger - I love the special sauce, and the buns were super soft and fresh. The mango jalapeno wings were great mix of spicy and sweet. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. The prices are very reasonable. Can't wait to go back and try the chicken sandwich. read more
