We were seated promptly, and brought menus- which we immediately perused! I ordered a build-your-own omelette with Havarti cheese, peppers, and sausage. It came with hash brown taters and pancakes. Ok- now a place that purports to be a pancake place should have good pancakes and syrup that's awesome. The pancakes weren't all that. Too tough - and the greater sin was that the syrup was already on the table in portion-controlled plastic containers. In other words- it wasn't hot, fresh, nor was it that good. And sure enough- the pancakes were tough. The syrup was cold. The omelette was nice and fluffy- no issues there at all! The hash brown taters were - well- abundant! Probably too abundant (darn it) as I couldn't finish them all. Hint - bring out warmed up syrup with the pancakes, please! Hubby had an acai bowl which he labelled "Yummy" - yay! One of us got a good breakfast! Service was just fine- not special over great. The prices were reasonable and the ambiance was just perfect. So- will we come again? Maybe. Maybe. But I'll avoid the pancakes - they need some work.

With that said I would recommend the corned beef hash and eggs. It was plentiful, I had to take more than half of it home with me and was still delicious later for lunch. The service was a little slow. I came before the crowd and it still look a while for the server to take my order. I also did not like where I was seated because it was close to the entryway so everyone had to walk by my table and would bump into my seat. When I asked to change my seat the hostess said she had to follow a pre-determined seating order. Hmmm. The place was nothing fancy, but was clean and tidy. I feel that many breakfast establishments do well with food and then so so with coffee. The R.EC. however has some good coffee as well as many other fantastic beverages to select from. Even when a new dish or special is introduced the quality, taste and freshness is out of this world. The staff/ownership really knows what they are doing providing fast friendly service with a small town home made meal feeling. Plenty of booths and a side spot of tables where they can accommodate large groups, even an old school dinner counter to belly up close to the chiefs and catch a glimpse of all the dishes your going to have to come back and try. However it was outshined by the strawberry colada smoothie that was DEMOLISHED. My husband killed the cookie dough waffle, he got an espresso, and I ordered a side of bacon and another smoothie to go it was THAT GOOD!! I'm pretty sure we were greeted by the manager and assistant manager. Great service, great and BUSY location (I suspect they all are like this. They're just wonderful!) My only complaints here have been perhaps I've only realized it now is that they give you the coffee carafe they give you the water Kara and then you have to further serve yourself for the rest of the meal. Then, if you have leftovers, they give you the box and you have to go pack it yourself. If I have to do this amount of work myself, then why am I tipping a server who only came to actually take my order because I completely different group of people actually brought my plates and a completely different group of people cleaned off the table and the plates. Coffee that is magically refilled as your mug gets emptied. Servers who - again - demonstrate that they are not home-schooled misfits, and are willing to engage in pleasant chat. And smile as they do so. * ... and seem to believe, for some reason, that you've been there before - and treat you like family either way. When we got to the restaurant it was peak lunch time and the restaurant was almost 3/4 full. We got seated promptly. We took our time to look at their menu and decide as they had a good menu variety. We ordered drinks in the meantime. I got a regular coffee and a Chappieccino (cappuccino w/ Chappie's face, Chappie being their family dog, a Corgie). We ordered a Bacado Omelet w/ a side of pumpkin spice pancakes instead of regular pancakes and hashbrowns, a Huevos Rancheros, and a special of 2 Eggs x 2 Pancakes x 2 Sausage links (instead of bacon). I had the Bacado Omelet which had bacon, avocado, scallions, cheese, and I asked for chopped jalapeños which did not have an up charge. The omelet was good. I liked the way it was cooked. The hash browns were cooked to perfection. They were exactly the way I like them, crispy and soft. They also have me a fried green chili pepper (Chile Toreado) on the side which added a nice spicy taste. The specialty pumpkin spice pancakes with pumpkin puree whipped cream was really delicious. I loved its taste. The Huevos Rancheros was the best dish at the table. It was perfectly cooked with two fried corn tortillas, eggs over easy, fried beans, red salsa, and cheese. It tasted great. I liked it more than my dish. The special of 2 Eggs x 2 Pancakes x 2 sausage links was tasty as well. We had a good experience and would go back. Definitely recommended. Check it out.
