I've been a customer of Egg Basket restaurant for years, both dining in and ordering takeout for breakfast and the food is normally very good. As recently as January 12th around 8:00 a.m., I placed this same order to go, the restaurant was busy and it was cooked perfectly, which is why today's experience was so disappointing. Today, January 20th with the temperature at 17 degrees, I placed a pickup order at 11:43 a.m. (Order #07). The restaurant was not busy, only two tables were occupied so I fully expected my order to be prepared correctly. I ordered crepes with fresh strawberries, eggs, sausage, and a second order with bacon. When I opened the containers, the food was clearly overcooked. One crepe was so hard I couldn't cut it, and the second crepe was three-quarters burned. The eggs were also overcooked. Unfortunately, I didn't have time and it was too cold outside to return to the restaurant. Because this is a place I frequent, I attempted to call three times before writing this review, letting the phone ring each time but no one answered. With recent price increases and a total of $44.90 before tax, I expect much better quality and consistency. This experience was extremely disappointing. To management: please retrain your cooks and reinforce quality control. Burned, overcooked food should never be sent out especially at these prices. If this continues, I will not be returning. I truly hope this feedback is taken seriously, as I've enjoyed this neighborhood restaurant for many years and would like to continue supporting it.

This was first time dining here and it was pretty good. It's nothing fancy but is a great place to get a quick breakfast. I highly recommend the gyro skillet.

Suggested by a friend. It's in the Walmart parking lot. Came by on a Friday morning with some friends after the gym. Wasn't crazy busy, music playing was kind of sad...thought uh oh! BUT service was good and the food was great. Tried the Greek skillet. Sounded like a strange combo but it worked! I would totally order that again. And I asked for extra crispy hash browns and they were (this is so rare!). They don't have fancy coffee drinks but that was ok. I would absolutely go back.

Stopped by on a Sunday around 11am, did not have to wait for a table. The food was good, wish the service was a little better I had to ask for coffee refill more than once.

Solid three stars. I wasn't super impressed but it was solid. Prices seemed reasonable. They have a good location on Barrington Road. Not very far from St. Alexius. Service was good. Not exemplary but it's safe.

Looks like they remodeled as the place has a nice modern touch now. The floors are new and pretty much everything looks modern. It's interesting that there are several different light fixtures. I don't know, it was just worth noting. With the remodel, it seems like their menu has shrunk too. The menu is now one giant card, double-sided, with 90% of the menu being breakfast. So it's great if you're in the mood for breakfast, such as omelettes, skillets, crepes, and or pancakes. Not so much if you're not in a breakfast mood. I ordered the turkey club, which although not listed on the menu, had mayo on it. The club sandwich was cut into 4 mini triangles and came with fries. The turkey was very dry, so I guess that's what the mayo masked. The entree also included cream of chicken with rice. The soup was very salty and a little bit sour. It didn't come with any crackers. Overall, lunch was meh. We had 6 adults and 2 kids and bless her soul, but our waitress was a little overwhelmed. Most of our waters were left empty until near the end of our meal and I really wished she did mention the turkey club had mayo on it, although the menu did point out what came on the sandwich, like lettuce, turkey, tomato, and bacon. I guess you could argue a turkey club with mayo is implied anyways. Because it's like saying I was surprised the turkey club came with bread, even though the menu didn't list it came with bread. Although I hate sending things back, after some convincing from my friends, I decided to. They were nice enough to remake the sandwich without the mayo. Plus 1 star for that! BATHROOM REVIEW: located near the back, it looks like the bathrooms were redone as well. It was spacious and clean. Sit or squat? Sit!

    Unreal...

This place was good for years. Not anymore. Waitress spilled my coffee twice while pouring and walking away at the same time. Then dumped a whole skillet of runny eggs on my lap. Brought the check and offered nothing until I said it wasn't right. Then she took my breakfast off. Come on... found plastic in my nieces eggs... cold pancakes.. smelly bathrooms.. good luck.

They have an outdoor area, inside dining and a larger area for large groups etc. When you walk in the first thing you see is what makes this restaurant so special, a large wood burning oven! I know others have commented on their pasta and octopus dishes, but let's be real, this is all about the pizza! We came here on a Tuesday and it was not crowded at all. A few people at the bar and about half the tables full with a few others waiting for pickup. We ordered a few drinks, while we looked over the menu and were amazed at all the different pizza choices; with sauce or without. We started with a misto salad and it was really nice with mixed greens, very fresh sweet tomatoes and some shaved parm with a light oil and vinegar dressing. It was also accompanied by some fresh bread. Great start to our meal. Now the tough decision, what kind of pie to order. After a lot of discussion and the fact that we didn't have a place to store extra pizza on our trip the next day we settled on a no sauce pizza, prosciutto rucola. As you can see by the pictures, there is a lot of prosciutto on this pie. So you would think it would be very salty, nope. The smoked and regular mozzarella really tone down the saltiness. Plus the peppery taste of the arugula really balances out this incredible pie. With six slices to a pie, for us this was a perfect amount of an entree as we were looking forward to the cannoli to finish off our dinner. While I didn't take a picture of the cannoli, it was very good as well. Overall, I am glad we were staying on the western edge of Schaumburg and finally were able to stop in an enjoy some of the best Napoli had to offer.

It's about $12 for the cheapest of these. Best one is the Campari with orange juice. It's about $12 for the Marinara Pizza. Great thing about it is this is vegan friendly. This is topped with extra virgin olive oil, garlic, and oregano. Is just enough for one person without getting full. The rest of the pizza styles are also good. Great place we could go to again. It's located on Barrington at Holmes. There's plenty of pizzas including something for vegans.

I'd arrived during the lunch rush, and there was line of folks both waiting to order and to pickup their orders. This is always a great sign in my book! I really appreciated the simplicity of the menu and how there was a handful of items to order from rather than an overwhelming amount that can cause analysis paralysis. Check out how simple it is! There are four different entrees you can choose from; a kebab sandwich, roll, plate, or box. Onward to the proteins, where you also have four choices: chicken, beef, a mix of the two, or falafel. Then you pick your sauces, choose your vegetables, and BOOM. That's all you need today decide in the have the kebap entree of your dreams. I ended up ordering a beef roll, with garlic and spicy sauce, and all the vegetables minus tomato. I also added on fries and a drink for an additional $3.99. Despite how busy staff was with putting out order after order, I received my order within 5 minutes. And WOWZA was the kebap roll a fantastic size. If I wasn't so hungry, I would've eaten half and saved the rest for later!! The fries were a bit overdone for my liking, but they were freshly fried and made-to-order which I appreciated. The beef roll was fantastic. The ratio of meat to accoutrements was perfect and I loved the medley of sauces. I will DEFINITELY be ordering this meal again the next time I visit.

It is the classic set-up, where you pick a base (usually rice) and the protein (usually raw fish), and enhance the texture and flavor by directing the counter person to add various toppings and sauces. The counter person was very friendly, giving us plenty of time to make our choice. She was also generous with the toppings, and I'm pretty sure she would have customized it anyway we want. The prep area was very clean, tidy, and organized, with each bin fully stocked with the prescribed ingredients. There is only one size, with one large scoop of fish and rice being the base, and it's plenty. Some toppings are extra: if you get the basic with tuna and no extra-costing add-ons, it is $12. I ended up getting a predefined bowl called the Da Kine (Marinated tuna) for $13, and it was good: nice mix of flavors and made it simple. Some differences from previous poke places we've been: -- they offer a sushi rice option, taking the same hot white rice, and squirting a sushi (vinegar and sugar) mixture on top of it. In my case, it didn't really add much. -- they have a premarinated tuna option, along with the unmarinated. Some places are now letting you choose your sauce spice mix first, and then marinating your protein choice for you right there. It's a bit more work, but I think it does add something worth it. The marinated tuna that I had was fine, but definitely lacked the absolute 'wow' when eating just freshly cubed ahi tuna. It looks like the Poke Bros are THE place for Poke all around Chicagoland, and they have found a good place to source their ahi and salmon (hopefully) daily, as good as can be expected this far from the ocean.

Le P'tit was the first to pop up on my feed and immediately caught my attention due to its unique menu, historic building, and secluded outdoor oasis for the fair weather seasons. When asked where I wanted to have dinner on my birthday, the answer was easy, L'ptit! We were greeted by the Chef Chopra outside, who welcomed us and asked us to choose the seat that suited us best in or outdoors. We chose a seat outside as it seemed most guests were enjoying the nice weather in the garden. Chef Chopra introduced himself and explained the complimentary montadito, and presented the current specials. We loved that he took time to ask what brought us in, and when we said that we were building a new home in Bartlett only minutes away, he shared that although he has been all over the world he always misses good old Bartlett, IL. This is the kind of connection and service you won't find at franchise restaurants! We enjoyed cocktails, myself a dirty tini with bleu cheese stuffed olives, and my husband the traditional old fashioned and the P'tit old fashioned - both of which he enjoyed. We ordered the hummus for an appetizer - my husband never orders humus. Not a drop was left. It was so flavorful, and since I am intolerant to gluten we loved that it was served with cucumber "chips". We will definitely order this again! Our entrees were both specials - mine the steak and shrimp tower and my husband's the Birria. We could t decide whose was better. The shrimp and steak were so flavorful and beautifully cooked, and the beef and consommé of my husband's was out of this world. My takeaways from Le P'tit: We will be there - regularly, before we move into our home, and after! Have a cocktail, they are fabulous. Talk to Chef Chopra any chance you get. He has seen the world and loves to see his guests enjoying his menu and the atmosphere of his establishment. This is what supporting local is about! Enjoy your time at Le P'tit. Savor. Take a moment to slow down, disconnect from the outside and connect with the ones around you and enjoy the wonderfully and thoughtfully prepared dishes on the menu. We can't wait to be back!
